Teens will go ‘Crazy’ for Sam Callahan’s new single

Since leaving the Sylvia Young Theatre School at 16, it’s been a big couple of years for the 18 year old; having spent two years working with some of the best music producers in the business, including Geri Halliwell and ‘Crazy’ producer, the renowned John McLaughlin.

What’s even more unique about Sam is his refreshing approach to his success. Not many highly talented teenage boys with thousands of adoring fans manage to remain so humble honest and caring. In a bid to ‘give something back’ with the release of the upcoming single, Sam has been running the Crazy Campaign – a series of fifteen weird, wacky, and downright dangerous stunts, from sky diving to Morris dancing, taking place throughout April, May and June in the lead up to the release of the single; all raising money and support for the Teenage Cancer Trust (you can find out more about the events here).

Reminiscent of other teen pop acts such as Justin Bieber and Connor Maynard, ‘Crazy’ is definitely a catchy summer tune with a great beat, strong melodic hooks and an amazing vocal – fantastic work from the young singer-songwriter.

Stylo G unveils first single on 3 Beat Records - 'Soundbwoy'

STYLO G - 'SOUNDBWOY'

14 April 2013 / 3 BEAT RECORDS

Fresh from a string of hits including the underground smash of 2012 'Call Mi A Yardie', as well as 'Winter Swag' and Jodie Connor¹s 'Talk', UK dancehall stalwart Stylo G is back with brand new single 'Soundbwoy'.

The reggae-inspired dance track is already being supported by DJs Toddla T (BBC Radio 1), Robbo Ranx, and Mistajam (BBC Radio 1Xtra) and is Stylo G's first release on 3 Beat Records, the specialist Urban/Dance label behind the recent success of artists such as Skepta, Sway, Duck Sauce and Matrix & Futurebound. Production comes courtesy of hot new Dutch talent Diztortion who counts super-producers Chuckie and Giorgio Tunifort as inspiration, and who recently collaborated with Lethal Bizzle.

"We are really excited to welcome Stylo G and his team to our roster at 3Beat Records. Having had success with Skepta and Sway on our label we feel that Stylo G is a great addition, as he is an unique artist with genuine talent, charisma and the ability to write exciting and catchy songs that work both in the club and on radio. We are really looking forward to unleashing the new music he has been working on." Shaurav D'Silva (3 Beat Records)

Stylo G has been involved in the British underground music scene since the age of 15 when he moved to the UK from Spanish Town, Jamaica. Son of the legendary dancehall artist Poison Chang, Stylo decided to follow in his father's footsteps, making his mark in the UK when Grime music was at its highest, and he has since developed the bridge between UK hip-hop and dancehall. 2012 was an explosive year for Stylo G with the release of underground hit 'Call Mi a Yardie'. The single crossed continents receiving kudos and radio play as far afield as Japan and the USA.

Look out for the exclusive remix of Soundbwoy from top Jamaican producer Stephen "Di Genius" McGregor - son of reggae icon Freddie McGregor - a must-have for dancehall lovers.

Frankie Cocozza reveals new look in magazine photoshoot

Frankie Cocozza has unveiled a fresh look for a new magazine photoshoot.

The former X Factor contestant is usually best known for a messy, rock n' roll image, but it seems he's turned a new leaf.

In a new photoshoot with Reveal magazine, the singer has donned suits and a quiff.

The accompanying interview sees Cocozza open up on the death of close friend Connor Saunders earlier this year, which had a deep impact on the Celebrity Big Brother man. He said:

"I was in Scotland and woke up to find 175 missed calls on my phone. It was 8am and I was still pissed from the night before. I knew he wasn't going to make it and travelled straight back to Brighton, but didn't manage to see Connor before he passed away."

He continued: "All Connor ever wanted for me was to focus on my music. He was the only one I confided in before X Factor, and he came to my first audition with me. I want to turn things around and make him proud."

Frankie Cocozza opens his heart over death of close friend

Frankie Cocozza has opened his heart over the recent death of his close friend, Connor Saunders.

19-year-old Saunders passed away in April after suffering head injuries from a fight, with good friend Cocozza helping to carry his coffin at his funeral on Friday (11 May).

Speaking to the Sun, the X Factor contestant said that he was in a hotel room in Scotland when he heard news that Saunders, who he had known for much of his life, was in a critical condition - with doctors only giving him two hours to live.

However, he couldn't fly down to England because he left his passport in his room - which meant he had to take a train. He said:

"I'd been on a night out. I was still half asleep when my phone rang again. It was my mate Olly, who told me that Connor was in intensive care and the doctors had given him two hours to live. I threw on my clothes, grabbed my wallet and ran out of the hotel, leaving everything else behind. I didn't realise I'd left my passport in my room."

He added: "I knew then I wasn't going to be with Connor at the end - and I was in a terrible state. I felt like I had let him down. I had to spend the next five hours on a train, where I just sat and cried."

The singer unfortunately didn't make it in time to see Saunders before he died. He said:

"It was the saddest sight you can imagine. Connor was lying on a bed with his family around him - all people who mean the world to me. They were each touching him and crying. I walked over, leaned down and kissed my friend gently on the top of his head. Then I said goodbye. At that moment I knew that my life would never be the same again."
