Dannii Minogue used her own body insecurities to create fashion line

Australian singer and presenter, Dannii Minogue, admits that she started her fashion line with friend Tabitha Somerset Webb because she always felt that other designers were missing crucial aspects in their clothing collections.

Speaking to Grazia magazine, she explained that traditional dresses aren't flattering to arms and she identified this gap in the market and came out with her own range called Project D:

"I have worn dresses in the glare of public scrutiny. I know how a great dress needs to work. I want to know, for example, what is it with designers and sleeves? Why is it so hard to buy a dress that flatters your arms?"

She added that feeling comfortable is integral to promoting self-confidence and felt that her first public outing with Project D helped her post-baby figure to look its best despite her feelings of insecurity:

"The first time I wore Project D on the show I was so nervous. It was the Jingle dress - fitted, knee-length, full skirt - very 'Mad Men'. I'd only just had a baby and had completely changed shape. I felt so insecure."

Lily Allen hits back at columnist

Singer Lily Allen has hit back at remarks by a UK newspaper columnist that said she was an “over-privileged cry-baby”.

Writer for The Sun, Julie Burchill, made the comments in a recent article she wrote in support of Cheryl Cole over the Girls Aloud singer’s alleged axing from the US version of ‘The X Factor’.

Cole and Allen had a much-publicised feud years ago, which Burchill rehashes for her article, writing: "I Adore Cheryl Cole... I adore the way she spat back at that over-privileged cry-baby Lily Allen when the public-school tool took a poke at her way back in the day."

Lily Allen was incensed over the article today and took to Twitter to lash out at the writer. "Julie Burchill, you are an ignorant and bitter old troll,” she wrote, “but I guess you know that already... She's the snob, I am many things, a snob is not one of them. I am a dwarf though.

"The amateur psychiatrist in me says (she) see's (sic) a lot of her younger self in me, and she's a bit of a ‘self-loather’. #poorjulieburchill."

Dannii Minogue denies split

‘X Factor’ star Dannii Minogue has denied rumours that she and her partner rugby player Kris Smith have split up.

The couple, who have an 11-year-old son, were reported split up by many tabloids, but today (May 29) they issued a joint statement assuring that all is well.

Speculation over a possible split began when a cryptic tweet appeared on Dannii’s Twitter page, saying: "Never chase love. If it isn't given freely, it's not worth having." To which Kris replied: "You don't know what you've lost til it's gone."

However, the messages have since been deleted and the pair were seen together at a TV studio in Australia.

A statement from the couple today said: "Thanks for your concern. We're happy to be back at home in Melbourne together as a family,” they wrote. “We are committed to our relationship and Ethan as always."

Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland has revealed that she will be replacing Dannii Minogue as a judge on this season’s ‘X Factor’.

The singer is the third newbie on the panel along with Take That’s Gary Barlow and N-Dubz’s Tulisa Constavolos. The three will be joining ‘X Factor’ veteran Louis Walsh on the programme starting later this year.

Dannii Minogue clears up X Factor rumours

Dannii Minogue has spoken out about her reasons for not returning for the upcoming new season of X Factor in the UK.

As soon as the news broke last week, speculation began circulating that implied the star had been asked not to come back so she spoke to My Daily today, May 19, to set the record straight.

"There has been a lot of speculation about me leaving the X Factor this week and I have been moved by the messages I have received from fans."

"I'm disappointed that 'Team Minogue' can't be a part of the show again this year, but I'm not 'furious,' 'upset' or 'livid;' we simply couldn't make the dates work."

She reassured fans and viewers of the show that there are no hard feelings and she will be supporting it despite her packed schedule, adding:

"The X Factor is brilliant and I've been the biggest fan since the first series. This year I will be watching the show from wherever I am. Can I still dress up at home?"

Watch Minogue talk about the perks and drawbacks to being a judge on X Factor in a revealing interview here:

Dannii Minogue quits ‘X Factor’

Due to other obligations, Dannii Minogue has announced that she will not be returning as a judge on the UK’s hit show ‘X Factor’.

She revealed to My Daily: "I am so disappointed that I can't be a part of ‘The X Factor’ this year. I'm going to miss the show and the amazing team who work so incredibly hard on it."

Since January, the star has been hard at work filming the fifth series of ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ and says that her commitments to that show have made it impossible for her to continue with ‘X Factor’.

"During discussions for me to return [to ‘The X Factor’] it became clear that unfortunately, this year, the 'X Factor' audition dates in the UK clash with the live shows of ‘Australia's Got Talent’ during June and July,” she explained. “For this reason I am unable to return.”

Minogue’s departure, coupled with Simon Cowell and Chery Cole’s move to the US version of the show, means that ‘The X Factor’ is looking to have a nearly brand new panel this year.

Dannii was recently shot for the cover of Marie Claire, watch some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot below:
