MATCHBOX RECORDINGS – THE ORIGINAL RECORD LABEL AND ARTIST SERVICES COMPANY.

Matchbox Recordings LTD is a record label and music promotion company who offer a wide range of services for corporate clients, record labels, Independent artists and bands. Matchbox have been offering artist and label services since 1997 and have become well known worldwide as the “original Label and Artist Services” company providing a complete music release and promotion service.

Matchbox are an innovative company that utilises digital technology to release and market new music while adhering to traditional principles of taking time and hard work to build their clients profiles and brands. This enables Independent artists and already established world famous acts to release their own music while holding on to their valuable copyrights, merchandise and tour income, while at the same time still working with the best team of music professionals who are all linked to Major Record companies. Matchbox Recordings have a worldwide team in territories including London, Oxford, Devon, Channel Islands, USA, Europe, Cotswolds, Worcester, Los Angeles and in the expanding African music market where the company are partnered with the one of the leading African Music, Media and Creative companies - Tickybox Media.

The Matchbox team has worked on releases and projects for Warner Music, Universal, Sony, David Bowie, Wretch 32, N-Dubz, Sister Act Musical, Happy Mondays, Muse, David Gray, Madonna, My Chemical Romance, Depeche Mode, Dr Dre, Moby, REM, Kanye West, Lady Ga Ga, Eminem, David Guetta, Snow Patrol, Adele, One Direction, Alex Gaudino Ft Kelly Rowland ( No 1 U.K Hit ) , The Saturdays, Nicole Shersinger, Pitbull, Will.i.Am, Justin Timberlake, Cafe Del Mar, Sony, Bruno Mars, Barry White, Ellie Goulding, Fat Boy Slim, David Morales, Girls Aloud, Deadmau and Imogen Heap, George Michael, Paul Oakenfold, Eminem, Above and Beyond, Jamelia, Fowami, Miss Kay, Charlie Yang, Afrojack, Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Irina Singh, FLTF, Above Average Ft F.A.B.E and many more.

Director and head of music, Dale Olivier recently said “ It’s amazing to see the shift in the music Industry since the digital age of music began in the 90’s which is when we first started out and based our model on the basic principle of Independent music; sharing costs and revenue with the artists. We came against some fierce criticism from some artists, the musician’s Union, music press and other labels for charging artists for services. This has now however become the main model of the new music Industry. This did not deter our vision and we carried on regardless which eventually lead to us working with the biggest names and companies in the music business. We always adopted and embraced the “digital” changes and used technology and the Internet to build not only our brand, but help artists that were completely unknown achieve official chart positions and achieve coverage on Major platforms. As an artist myself I understood the plight and vision of musicians and how hard it can really be. I then incorporated this into our company’s strategy; sticking to the much needed time and effort to build an artist’s career as opposed to the instant fame solutions and services that inhabit the Internet these days and encouraged by TV shows like X-Factor. We always aim to work with the best and most serious artists/clients and have found that artists who are doing it just for the instant fame and who are troublesome about it - never make it. So I am ecstatic that after all these years we have become known as the “original artist and label services company”.

Matchbox Recordings also broadcast a PRS for Music licensed Internet Radio station known as “Matchbox Radio 24 “ playing brand new music alongside hits 24 hours a day. The company also offers a digital Media supply service called “The Matchbox Digital Record Pool” at www.matchbox-ipool.com which allows Press, Radio, DJ’s, Record Label Licensees, Film Companies and all of the media to access brand new artist releases and broadcast MP3’s for FREE as long as they leave valuable feedback for the artists. They are then free to use that music on their Radio shows, in Clubs, magazines and in their publications.

Matchbox Recordings also provides other valuable tools a new artist or label would require; from Radio Plugging, Music P.R and marketing, Remixes, Manufacturing and Music TV Adverts to digital distribution, Graphic and web Design, Artist photography, Lyric Videos, street team services, merchandise deals and Large Tour and support opportunities for new artists. Matchbox also offer a full release and marketing service that handles all the needs of an Independent artist or label in one complete package. All releases are subject to approval by the Matchbox team.

Dale Olivier recently talked about the music Industry and issues relating to this article on BBC Scotland. http://youtu.be/e4cbBfJRkgE

The heartthrobs in One Direction have admitted that filming an extravagant music video for their Comic Relief single felt wrong after they spent time in Ghana and were shown slums and genuine poverty.

Their video for 'One Way Or Another' premiered yesterday (February 21) and it was shot during the lads' tour and trip to Africa. Member Niall Horan explained to Digital Spy that not spending "loads of money" on the offering was important to them after visiting Ghana:

"Instead of spending loads of money on the video for the official Red Nose Day single, we decided to make it ourselves on tour. We've filmed some lines in Ghana at a school built for the kids that live in the slum. They were dancing on the tables having a great time."

Singer Liam Payne added: "Going to Ghana to see for ourselves the difference money raised through Red Nose Day can make was a real eye-opener and an emotional experience for all of us."

"Thanks to your generosity, people in the slums are getting free skills training so they can get jobs and provide for their families. And tiny babies are now receiving life-saving vaccinations that will protect them against preventable childhood diseases like diarrhoea and pneumonia."

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has praised British Prime Minister David Cameron after he appeared in their new charity single video

The boyband recently released the promo clip for their 2013 Red Nose Day Comic Relief effort 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)'.

The video features self-shot clips from the One Direction lads and even a cameo from Conservative mainman David Cameron.

Speaking to Digital Spy about the guest appearance, Louis Tomlinson said: "We couldn't believe it when [Cameron] joined us. It was huge! He was a great sport."

Whilst Tomlinson has been singing Cameron's praises, it seems bandmate Harry Styles isn't quite so much a fan of the Prime Minister.

The Mirror quotes the singer as telling someone at a BRITs after-party: "I'm a Labour supporter. I lean to the left. I'm for the people."

A meeting with Justin Bieber has been auctioned for £10,000 at a Conservative Party fundraising event.

The meeting, which will take place at London's O2 Arena in March, was snapped up for a cool a £10,000.

However, it is said Bieber is unaware of the auction and could object if he deems it necessary.

A spokeswoman for Universal Music UK said that the 'Boyfriend' star "wouldn't expect to be informed" about who received the passes.

The lot's information meanwhile read: "The four golden ticket holders will get the chance to go backstage to meet face-to-face with the gorgeous teen heart-throb."

Radiohead to David Cameron: 'Use our music and we'll sue the living sh*t out of you'

Experimental rockers Radiohead have vowed that if the UK's Prime Minister, David Cameron, uses their music without permission for the Conservative election campaign they will take legal action.

Speaking to Drowned In Sound, the band's frontman Thom Yorke explained that he can't imagine that happening, but if it does he is prepared to "sue" him:

"I can't say I love the idea of a banker liking our music, or David Cameron. But I also equally think, who cares? As long as he doesn't use it for his election campaigns, I don't care. I'd sue the living sh*t out of him if he did. I can't believe he'd like [Radiohead album] King of Limbs much."

On February 25, 'Amok' by Atoms for Peace will be released which is the first album Yorke has worked on with a band other than Radiohead and talking about the project, he added:

"It's not like The Eraser [his 2006 solo album]. But it's not a band album either. It doesn't sound like a band playing ... We wanted to go into the song realm, because it felt good to do that. If it were up to me, every track would be 10 minutes long."
