Fresh from an extensive South American tour and two huge shows at Coachella Festival, Two Door Cinema Club today announce the release of new single ‘Handshake’ - out June 3rd - and reveal their darkly humorous new video below.

Directed by upcoming film maker Sam Pilling (SBTRKT, Bondax), the video sees Alex, Sam and Kev get embroiled in the underground sport of ‘human head bowling’ with gruesome consequences. 

This week sees the band play three sold out UK shows, added due to popular demand following the success of their January/February UK tour. On Thursday April 25th they perform in Edinburgh at the Corn Exchange before heading to Wolverhampton on Friday 26th April to play the Civic Hall. This Saturday, they are set to play their biggest UK headline show to date to over 11,000 fans at Alexandra Palace in London - a show which sold out six months in advance. 

The band are then set to take the summer stages by storm with big festival slots lined up at Radio 1’s Big Weekend Glastonbury, T in the Park and V Festival.

On '13', the band that defined heavy metal picks up immediately where they left off with eight sprawling songs (five of them are over eight minutes) that possess every ounce of the maniacal vitality of the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees’ trailblazing work in the '70s. Songs such as 'End of the Beginning', 'Loner', 'Dear Father', and 'Age of Reason' reinforce 13’s testament to the enduring relevance of BLACK SABBATH's long-running reign.  Produced by Rick Rubin (seven-time Grammy winner, two of those as Producer of the Year), '13' features OZZY OSBOURNE, TONY IOMMI and GEEZER BUTLER, who were joined at the sessions by drummer Brad Wilk (Rage Against The Machine).  The album will be released June 10th on Vertigo (worldwide) and Vertigo/Republic in the U.S.

Nordoff Robbins have today announced that singer, songwriter and producer Labrinth will be awarded the American Express Innovation Award at this year’s 38th Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards and Lunch. 

This star-studded event, in aid of music charity Nordoff Robbins, the chosen charity of the music industry, will take place on Friday 28 June 2013 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. 

In just a short period of time, Labrinth has become one of the biggest names on the British music scene and the pioneer of the now hugely popular electro-pop-grime sound. Collaborations with Tinie Tempah (‘Pass Out’) and Emeli Sandé (‘Beneath Your Beautiful’), the two previous winners of the Nordoff Robbins American Express Innovation Award, have earned him two No. 1 singles and his debut solo album, ‘Electronic Earth’, was released last year and entered the UK charts at No. 2. ‘Pass Out’, which he co-wrote with Tinie Tempah when he was just 21, won Best British Single at the 2011 BRIT Awards and Best Contemporary Song at the 2011 Ivor Novello Awards. He has also written material for high-profile artists including Professor Green. 

Labrinth says,“It’s amazing to be awarded the American Express Innovation Award. Especially when my pal Emeli Sande won it the year before. I’m always looking for new ideas and inspiration for my music and it’s great to be recognised by Nordoff Robbins. New album Momentum out May 20th

Last night Jamie Cullum appeared on BBC's 'Later... with Jools Holland' for the very first time in his career! He performed 'Save Your Soul' taken from new album 'Momentum' at the newly relocated studios in Maidstone, Kent. View the performance on below. The full show will be aired this Friday and shall also see Jamie play new single 'Everything You Didn't Do'.

Jamie will release ‘Love For $ale’ as a limited edition 7” to celebrate Record Store Day on April 20th. The track is a cover of Cole Porter’s classic featuring Jamie on piano and vocals and legendary British rapper Roots Manuva on rap vocals, set over the bass line to 'Witness The Fitness'. On supporting Record Store Day Jamie said, 

"Despite the shrinking interest in physically owning music the survival of independent record stores is crucial if we are to continue to have one of the most exciting and diverse music industries in the world. A great independent record store is an authoritative curator in an endless sea of sounds;  it should be like your cool and interesting best friend who is always showing the way to new worlds. Multi-million selling Cullum releases his new album ‘Momentum’ through Island Records on May 20th. The album is bursting with ideas and inspirations drawn from an eventful couple of years. Jamie approached this record in a completely different way to his usual process, for the first time using DIY home demos as a blueprint for the majority of the tracks and using his iPhone on the move to lay down basic song production; some of which made the final cut!

The album was produced in part by Jim Abbiss (Artic Monkeys, Adele) and Dan The Automator (Kasabian, DJ Shadow). The first official single to come from ‘Momentum’, titled ‘Everything You Didn’t Do’, will be released on May 12th.

Nina was 16 years old when she began performing intimate shows across Edinburgh and Manchester and, with a budding interest in filmmaking, posted a selection of her own songs and some beautifully conceived cover versions on YouTube. The response she received was overwhelming. It kick started a roller coaster year that culminated with her self-released EP ‘The Apple Tree’ going straight to #6 on the iTunes download chart and #1 on the singer-songwriter chart last April. She signed to Island Records in June and released her first single ‘Boy’ in October.

Nina, who was crowned ‘Singer/Songwriter New Artist of the Year 2012’ on iTunes last year, is currently recording her debut album with Jake Gosling (Paloma Faith, Ed Sheeran, One Direction). One track sees an ambitious plot that involves the singer travelling the length and breadth of the country to record it. Nina will visit a range of secondary schools across the UK where over 5,000 pupils will be captured performing the chorus with the singer, all of which will be featured in the final version for the album. The track is aptly named ‘The People’. 
Nina will be releasing 4 videos in the run up to the release of her ‘Stay Out’ EP on 8th April. The latest is for 'Statues' which premiered this morning.

Not only does Nina’s voice boast an amazing technical ability, it is passionate and emotionally raw, her colloquial lyrics heartwarmingly candid and insightful. As she prepares to hit the road again, it’s clear that this is just the beginning of a very exciting journey for this immensely talented young lady. 

Nina will play the biggest live shows of her career to date at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on 12th March and Edinburgh’s Liquid Room on 16th March.

With a reputation for being the most unconventional and imaginative band in today’s music scene, the dynamic London duo Noisettes are back with their new single, ‘Winner’, released July 9th.

With a career that has stretched over seven years, a string of hits already under their belt and a fashion following that could rival Grace Jones, these guys need no introduction.  We all remember their well-known smash hit, ‘Don’t Upset The Rhythm‘ which stormed into the No. 2 spot in the UK charts and ‘Never Forget You’ which has sealed itself as a firm family favourite sing-a-long.

Two years on, the Noisettes are ready to embark on a new musical era. Fuelled with eye popping energy and power, it’s a sure sign that they are going for gold with this uplifting and epic track.  Leaving even the most faint hearted brimming with winning pride, ‘Winner’  looks set to become the people’s anthem during a momentous year here in London.

Never fond of a formula, the duo always intended on a radical musical evolution from both ‘Wild Young Hearts’, and their debut, ‘What’s The Time Mr Wolf?’, an album that spawned five singles and took them on tour for over a year, sharing arena stages with Muse and criss-crossing the States with TV On The Radio and Bloc Party.

“Some bands stick with the same style forever,” says singer Shingai Shoniwa, whose versatile vocals have seen her compared to everyone from Deborah Harry and Kate Bush to Billie Holiday and, Diana Ross. 

“They get together because they share identical musical tastes, then never do anything different. We’re a gang, but we’re also two divas with different record collections who constantly introduce each other to new sounds, whether it’s African music, jazz, our own modern hybrid of soul music or new adventures in dance music, there always remains the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll without the cliché's. For us, making music means keeping our ears open.”

“We've been collaborating with with some fantastic pop-smiths recently. We enjoyed tropical evenings in L.A.'s infamous Westlake studios with Will.i.am’s songwriter, Jean Baptise ('Winner'). Sometimes we'd drive off into the sunset after a session in our rental Mustang convertible and write a song or two by the highway-side with the top down, Californian style.”

Noisettes have built an astonishing devoted following thanks to their enthralling performances and style - unconventional, fierce and daring, their energy is reminiscent of  the true, legendary artists of the past, leading to them being described "the best live band in Britain" by The Guardian last year.  Shoniwa can often be seen charging in to the audience playing guitar and singing clinging to a ladder suspended from the ceiling, a nod to the circus skills she learnt in her teens.

 “We always go that extra mile to give the crowd a night they’ll never forget,” says Shoniwa. “I love artists like Hendrix and Bowie who fussed over their hair and took time choosing an outfit.” 

2012 is already looking set to become another epic year for the band having already been confirmed to play at The Diamond Jubilee Festival in Battersea Park on June 3rd as well as many other prestigious live performances throughout the summer - watch this space!
