The Poor Relations Release Debut Single Bexhill Blues

IT’S a long way from Sussex to the Mississippi Delta but one local musician is bridging the gap and belting out his own Bexhill Blues.

Bill Fellows is an experienced actor who’s appeared in a stream of the best of British televison including Downton Abbey, Broadchurch, Hebburn and Wolfblood.

But he’s also been strumming a guitar all these years and ready to go public with his music including first song Bexhill Blues, an affectionate nod to the town he’s made his home.

It is a limited edition available at Music’s Not Dead in Devonshire Road in advance of an upcoming EP with The Poor Relations which will be released on June 10 for download. Called The Tyranny Of Cool the EP is a collection of his own heartfelt tough but tender songs through Coldstone Records which was co-founded by Ian Dylan Barnes, and mixed by Dennis Dicker.

The Bexhill Blues is a first step into moving outward with music instead of playing for himself as he has since a teenager just starting out and at drama school. Originally from Middlesbrough, Bill’s life since has been one of constant work and he knows he’s been lucky to flourish in a notoriously difficult profession.

He is this week rehearsing in London for a premier of Pastoral at the Soho Theatre with Anna Calder-Marshall which he describes as a sci-fi horror and which opens in mid-May. He has also been filming King Of Sands on location in Lebanon.

“I do seem to work a lot,” he said. “But I am aware that could stop at any point. I have so many talented friends who spend years out of work. I think that is going to happen to me - maybe next year. But I’ve also got my music which I have been doing privately for 20 odd years, never played with anyone. I did think - what’s the point, but why not make a debut at the age of 56?” Working on his songs he also found encouragement locally from musician and producer Jeff Topp as well as Music’s Not Dead. He writes songs “all the time”, drawing lyrics from many sources including overheard conversations or throwaway comments. Bill said: “I’ve been an actor since I was 23 and of all of a sudden going with this new venture. It’s quite a daunting prospect because you’re open to all criticism as an actor so this is as well is a double whammy. But my son is 14, and he likes a couple of tracks, so that means something.”now

Michael Jackson's make-up artist takes witness stand: 'Everyone lied, saying he was well'

Karen Faye, the make-up artist of Michael Jackson, has taken the stand in the late superstar's wrongful death trial and revealed that 'everyone was lying' in the run up to his passing.

She worked with the icon during his 'This Is It' tour and told the court that the people around him lied about his condition in the days leading up to his death and did nothing to actively help:

"Everybody was lying after he died, saying that Michael was well... Everybody knew that he wasn't. I felt that retouching Michael [for his posthumous 'This Is It' documentary] was just a part of that lie. I was a lie. I didn't want a lie."

Faye (shown below with handlers Michael Bush and Dennis Tompkins) went on to add that Jackson seemed 'frightened' a lot of the time and would talk to himself, repeating "the same thing over and over again":

"He kept repeating, 'Why can't I choose?' [He was shivering from chills, and it was] like I was touching ice [when I put on his makeup]. [Costume director] Bush said, 'Oh my God. I could see Michael's heartbeat through the skin in his chest'. He was clearly upset. He was pretty much in shock."

She also explained how she expressed her concerns to AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips, but his response was only to say that Jackson was "not so good": "It was such a cold response, it broke my heart."

The Poor Relations ''Tyranny of Cool'' Debut EP

The Poor Relations release their first debut studio EP on the 10th June 2013

The Poor Relations are a collaboration of musicians who perform the hard yet tender songs of Bill Fellows. Now the group of collaborators are preparing to release their highly anticipated debut heartfelt studio EP, ‘Tyranny of Cool’, June 10th, on the new London based label Coldstone Records.

The album was produced by Coldstone Records co-founder Dylan Barnes, with other key contributions from Dennis Dicker (mixing). ‘Tyranny of Cool’ is a powerful EP of realistic lyric hooks; the song writing celebrates the likes of Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen & the tender side of Bowie. These are timeless songs that maintain the magic of classic pop, reminiscent of a Charles Bukowski novel, highlighting subjects that involve hardship, booze & women.
Bill has only just begun collaborating with an elite roll-call of musicians to make this most credible debut piece of work, the EP is called tyranny of cool, In response to bill’s sensitive inner doubts about releasing any music at all, when asked ‘’ I did think what's the point at my age, it's a bit late at 56 to release anything, it feels so uncool, then I started to think ‘’how many other people don't try things because of their inner fears. Then I thought hell with it I won't let the tyranny of cool stop me’’.

Released on the 10th June ‘’Tyranny of Cool will be available digitally worldwide in all reputable stores.

Rap sensation Eminem has revealed that he has started working on a brand new solo album.

His spokesperson, Dennis Dennehy, recently admitted to the Detroit Free Press that the 'Lose Yourself' star had put a movie project on the backburner in order to clear up his schedule for studio time, and Eminem has now confirmed this information.

Speaking to Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, the hitmaker explained that he is tying up loose ends with the Slaughterhouse record and has begun thinking about making his own new music:

"Well right now I'm finishing everything up on the Slaughterhouse album and kinda getting into my next record a little bit. So that's basically the couple of things that I've been working on."

Meanwhile, Eminem also added that Slaughterhouse would play the MetLife Stadium for Summer Jam on June 3.

Eminem is apparently putting his new movie project on hold so that he can return his focus to music.

The rap heavyweight, who launched his film career back in 2002 with the fantastic '8 Mile', was reportedly shooting a boxing movie for the big screen called 'Southpaw' in Michigan, but his spokesman Dennis Dennehy told the Detroit Free Press that working on new material in the studio is currently his priority:

"He's focusing on his music right now, so while he's doing that, while he's in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being..."

"What I'm told is when the film does get made, the plan is that the bulk of it will be shot in Michigan. That was always the understanding."
