As previously reported, their maiden effort 'DNA' impressively landed in the top five on the Billboard chart recently.

Speaking to heat, Perrie Edwards said that Cowell - who signed the female quartet after they won the UK X Factor in 2011 - was "proud" of the group's success. She said:

“He said he was proud of us and happy that we've stayed grounded!"

Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: "He's been so supportive, he wrote us a letter and when we got into the top 4 he sent us 25 bottles of champagne!"

Little Mix are just the latest British act to enjoy an impact on the US music scene, with One Direction, Cher Lloyd and Ed Sheeran all having success in the States recently.

'Work' hitmaker Rowland recently joined the line-up of judges on 'X Factor USA' for the upcoming new series and the 'Wings' beauties confessed that her professionalism, support and knowledge makes her an incredible addition to the show.

"She's a really good judge. She's such a lovely, lovely person," said blonde bombshell Perrie Edwards. "She's just amazing and she's lovely to look at as well when you're singing! She's beautiful."

Member Jade Thirlwall added to MTV News earlier this week: "She's very constructive. She was never nasty or mean. If she had something negative to say, it was only to help you. I think she's one of the best judges that's been on the show."

The British girl group saw their debut album 'DNA' impressively land at No.4 on the US Billboard chart last week.

They follow in the footsteps of One Direction, who have enjoyed massive success in the States over the past year and a half.

Speaking to Capital FM, Perrie Edwards said that her One Direction boyfriend Malik has congratulated the girls on their feat straight after their chart position was announced, revealing:

"He's said he's very, very proud and he thinks we're smashing it. Yeah, it's really nice to know that he's proud of us."

One Direction meanwhile have returned to the US as their Take Me Home tour heads over the pond, with Harry Styles showing fans some skin and going topless in Miami.

The band's debut album 'DNA' landed at an impressive No.4 on the US charts, making them the highest ever charting British female group in America with a first-time record.

The previous record was held by the Spice Girls, who saw their first album 'Spice' enter the US chart at No.6 in 1997.

Edwards says Little Mix - also comprising Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock - have been getting support from  a number of industry professionals, including Spice Girls star Mel B.

Speaking to British newspaper The Mirror she said: “Mel was going on about Girl Power and congratulating us on the album, which was incredible."

Edwards added that fellow songstress Jessie J also gave them invaluable advice ahead of their promotional tour in America.

She added: “We feel very lucky to be given opportunities like this and are trying to make sure we remember everything. Before we came out, Jessie J told us, ‘Whatever you do make sure you have a camera and take photos’. Things go that fast, it’s a lot to take in and it’s all a bit of a blur after.”

The Little Mix singer has been dating the One Direction star for a number of months and it seems they are only going from strength to strength.

Speaking to Star, Edwards said that she is open enough with her boyfriend to wear no makeup. She revealed:

"Zayn and I are at the stage where we feel fully comfortable with one another."

When asked if Malik prefers her with or without makeup, the 'Wings' star said: "My boyfriend says he likes me either way. I have good skin like [bandmate] Jesy [Nelson], so going make-up-free doesn't bother me too much. If I know the paparazzi are about I carry large shades with me."

The pop duo have been dating for a number of months and due to the popularity of their respective bands, their partnership is often scrutinised by the public and the media.

Speaking to the Metro, Edwards likened herself to a "piece of meat" in light of the focus that is placed on herself and Malik. She said:

"I don't really like it. I feel like a piece of meat. To be honest, I'd rather not have the attention."

The 'Wings' star added: "I don't think people should comment or gawp on who they think is hot. I don't think men should be like that, or even women. I'm a person not a lamb chop."

The female quartet have enjoyed a steady rise to fame since winning the X Factor in 2011, with the group currently on their first ever headline UK and Ireland tour.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Perrie Edwards - who is dating One Direction's Zayn Malik - admitted that she is unsure what to say when male fans get particularly amorous and ask for their hand in marriage. She said:

"Boys are so sweet and are always on Twitter asking us to marry them. I never know what to say."

Speaking about latest single 'Change Your Life', Leigh-Anne Pinnock added:

"We want to give the fans something positive to sing along to."

Little Mix's UK and Ireland tour meanwhile is due to conclude at Belfast's Waterfront on February 24.

Among dating models closer to his own age, Harry Styles has recently been linked with Caroline Flack 32 and Natalie Imbruglia 37.

He has been quoted as saying, “I used to say the age limit was any woman older than my mum – who is 43 – but...”

Harry insisted that newspapers confuse his innocent friendships with something more,

“Quite a lot of the girls I get photographed with are just friends, and then according to the papers, I have, like, 7,000 girlfriends.”

Niall Horan told the magazine that he does not feel ready for a girlfriend yet and is enjoying the single life. Meanwhile Louis Tomlinson has been dating his girlfriend model Eleanor Calder for a year and fellow band mate Zayn Malik is currently dating Perrie Edwards, from the girl group Little Mix.

Zayn is smitten with Edwards and recently told Cosmopolitan Magazine as he posed with his band mates in what is the first all-male cover in the magazine's 40-year history,

“Yes, I’m a big believer in the motto, "Behind every great man there’s a great woman". And she’s great.”

However, it is Liam who is dominating the column inches with rumours that he is romantically linked to Leona Lewis, following his recent break-up with dancer Danielle Peazer.

The most important relationship overall to the boys seems to be their bond with each other. Harry explained to YOU,

“Fifteen years from now we want One Direction to be playing a gig together at Wembley. The tickets aren’t available yet, but hold on, because one day they will be.”

The two former X Factor contestants confirmed their relationship earlier this year and the pair have seemingly been going strong since.

This is despite Malik jet-setting around the world on tour and Edwards gearing up for the release of Little Mix's debut album.

Speaking to Now magazine, the 'One Thing' star said that having faith in each other has seen the pair last. He said:

"We had an understanding from the start. I told her, 'This is my job, this is what's going to happen, stories will come out. Do you still want to be with me?'. That was established from the start and after that it was about me and her. Perrie has a lot of trust in me and I have a lot of trust in her. That's why it works."

Malik added: "Our jobs are full-on every single hour of the day. She gets that because she has to do exactly the same thing."

The 'Wings' singer is dating One Direction's Zayn Malik and the 'What Makes You Beautiful' group have struck up something of a friendship with the Canadian.

They have met up in the US and also in Britain and it seems Perrie Edwards has got in on the act too.

She told the Mirror that Bieber was "really sweet" but she added that it was "surreal" to meet such a well known face. Edwards said:

"It was a really brief meeting, but he's really sweet. I was expecting him to be like, 'Oh, check me out' but he wasn't he wasn't."

She continued: "He said 'Hi, I'm Justin', I just said back, 'Yep, I know who you are. I see you, like, every day on the telly'. It was pretty surreal."

The girl-band star has been linked with the boy-band heartthrob since the live stages of The X-Factor, but only confirmed they were seeing each other last week, and mum Debbie told the Sunday Sun that she couldn’t be happier for her daughter:

“They make a lovely couple. I really hope they make a go of it.

“I’ve been to his house and met the two of them with his mum and his three sisters, and I think they’re really good for each other.”

Mum Debbie also said she thinks the pair are well-equipped to deal with having a relationship in the glare of the media spotlight:

“Zayn is still on tour at the moment so most of the relationship is being conducted over texts, calls and emails.

“They are both very level-headed and good for each other because they’re both starting out in the business at the same time.

“It’s a brilliant life for Zayn travelling the world, but at the same time he knows he can talk to someone who isn’t just a fan and knows what it’s like in that world.”

The claim was made in the Royal Courts of Justice in London as her legal fight with 28-year-old MC Ultra - real name Justin Edwards - continues.

She alleges that she was told Edwards was trying to sell the tape to Playboy in October 2011.

It is said Edwards had responded at the time by saying that it was her that made the tape and that he had no copies, denying that he had ever tried to sell the tape.

As previously reported, Edwards had recently said in court that he regrets allowing Tulisa to "persuade" him to make the tape.
