A Bonnie Tyler song has come out trumps in a poll to find the most popular song sung in the shower.

The Eurovision star's track 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' came No.1 in a survey complied by a UK bathroom website which asked 1,346 people what tracks they sing in the shower.

The veteran beat off competition from Justin Bieber's 'Boyfriend' and Robbie Williams' classic 'Angels', which charted at No.2 and No.3 respectively.

Geri Halliwell on 'Viva Forever!' closing: 'It's not a s**t musical'

Pop star Geri Halliwell has opened up about her disappointment at the forthcoming end of the Spice Girls musical, 'Viva Forever!'.

The production only launched back in December last year, but ticket sales haven't been as promising as initially hoped so the show will come to a close on June 29 with one final performance.

Writing on her official blog today (May 22), the 'Wannabe' hitmaker explained that she doesn't understand why the musical wasn't as popular as predicted because she thinks it is fantastic: "Over 4 years ago it started with a conversation in a Kitchen; Laughing… Joking… full of promise, dreams & optimism."

"We managed to get one of the most successful Theatre producers to do our show! A great writer, our Spice music… I felt confident - almost cocky it was going to be a huge success."

Questioning the production, she continued: "What went wrong? Was I biased? Blinded because it was a show with our music? Was it the lighting? The set? The choreography? The press? The story? It had a bumpy start but the cast and director worked really hard, made great changes, and I can hand on heart tell it's not s**t! - It’s good entertainment!"

Halliwell added that she is now heading down under to be a judge on 'Australia's Got Talent' and thanked everyone who participated in 'Viva Forever!' for such an amazing experience: "I don’t regret it. I got to meet and work with the fabulous Judy Craymer, the producer whom I hope to be a friend for life."

"So this is to say thank you to all the people who tried for the Spice Girls, who had the guts to put their heart and soul into Viva. Even if something doesn't work, I admire anyone who tries, because a lot of people are afraid to. Thanks to all the cast of Viva, the musicians, Judy, Jennifer, the Spices and to all the fans and theatre-goers who came."

Songstress Marina Diamandis has revealed that she still has another 3 videos to unveil from her 'Electra Heart' project, but they might take a while as she's "bankrupted" her record label.

The Marina and the Diamonds beauty is signed to 679 Recordings and told Canadian newspaper The Province that fans can expect a few more things from the album although she can't guarantee when they will be released:

"I have three more video parts I will put out. I've bankrupted my label (apparently) so we have no money, but we're going to do it and finish this era the way I want to. Where there's a will, there's a way!"

Referring to the conception of Electra Heart as an alter ego, she added that she wanted to just be an unedited version of herself and decided that working on the record would allow her to do that:

"You may as well accept what your talent is and support it, rather than quashing it or dumbing it down to make yourself more likeable for radio. It's why I built 'Electra Heart' and the elaborate concept behind it. It was my way of justifying taking that commercial path, when really I had been signed as a lo-fi sounding songwriter."

She took to her Twitter page earlier today (January 15) and told her followers that she wanted to embrace her alter ego outside of Marina and the Diamonds, but her manager didn't allow it so she had to integrate it into her main work:

"Electra Heart was originally a side project, separate from Marina And The Diamonds. I called my manager in April 2011 and said "Hello. Can I pretend to be a totally different person?" He said "No. You cannot"

Quirky songstress Marina Diamandis has admitted that she felt cornered when working on her sophomore record because it seemed as though she wasn't able to experiment with her sound without alienating her fan base.

During an interview with Drowned In Sound, the Marina and the Diamonds beauty explained that 'Electa Heart' was a difficult album for her to make because she wanted it to be very pop-oriented, but felt like she "wasn't allowed to change" from the style she had become known for:

"I think that I wasn't allowed to change and that deep down I wanted to write a pop album and to be a popstar. For some reason, I felt like people wouldn't allow me to do that, which is stupid because I love the album."

Talking about the repercussions of change in the music industry as an established artist, she added: "So I should have just never said anything and accepted that some people would have said, 'She's not credible anymore', and that some people would start to be a fan of me, because that's what always happens when you change your music."

Marina Diamandis says heartbreak inspired makeover and album

Marina Diamandis has admitted that emotional heartbreak encouraged her to change her look.

The Belfast Telegraph quotes the Marina and the Diamonds singer as also saying that a recent breakup also inspired her latest album, 'Electra Heart', which hit No.1 in the UK.

She went blonde in an effort to become more "pure and innocent", whilst also being "sinister" at the same time. She said:

"I read a quote that to avoid homewreckers, you have to become one. That was my starting point. When a relationship ends, you feel like you never want to go out with anyone ever again. It's embarrassing to admit that, but self-preservation kicks in, and that led to thinking, 'If you don't want to have your heart broken again, you must then become a heartbreaker', and Electra came from that."

She continued: "I figure she's a metaphor for what it's like when you're heartbroken. Everything is taken to the Nth degree; everything about her is super-feminine and pink. The blonde hair conveys purity and innocence, while actually being something more sinister. I wanted to play with the idea of the female ideal and identity, and how, when you're not compatible with someone, you start to become what you think they would like. Essentially I wanted to make a gimmick out of love."

The 26-year-old, who releases comeback single, ‘Primadonna,’ on Apr 22, has faced criticism from some fans for pursuing a more commercial sound with her new material, but Marina told Gigwise she feels her mainstream acceptance should be celebrated:

"I think the indie fanbase and my indie background should be proud that I was an artist selling my handmade records to Rough Trade for £2 a pop and i've been asked to work with Dr Luke - who's on the other side of the spectrum.

"I really want to grow as an artist, get out of my bedroom and do what I was frightened of - which was sharing my identity with other people."

‘Electra Heart’ is a huge leap forward for Marina and promises to be one of the most exciting pop releases of 2012, underlining that she is amongst the most talented young British artists around. A ground-to-air missile of ambitious and confident songs, ‘Electra Heart’ was written and recorded in London and LA over the last 18 months whilst on tour. Featuring 12 brand new self-written tracks, Marina handpicked a close group of collaborators to write and produce with including Dr Luke (Katy Perry), Rick Nowels (Madonna), Liam Howe (Sneaker Pimps) and Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen).

‘Electra Heart’ is a blisteringly honest story of identity, love, rejection, doomed romance and hope all tinged with humour and British eccentricity.
