The Italian New Wave is the exclusive London preview of international festival Club To Club Alfa Romeo MiTo / #C2C12, taking place in Torino from 8th to 11th November (http://clubtoclub.it).

This special London showcase features a cast representing the whole spectrum of Italian music creativity + very special guest Kuedo, who will be headlining the night: under the spotlight there are new sensations and legendary pioneers of Italy's contemporary electronic sound. Visual shows and fashion design will help recreating #C2C12 festival's unique atmosphere for one incredible night at Village Underground.

_________

The most creative and original Italian ways of dealing with ‘groove’ are well represented in ‘The Italian New Wave’ showcase. Legendary ‘cosmic disco’ originator Daniele Baldelli –back in the late 70’s he was resident at Italian club Cosmic, where he literally invented the genre by blending pitched-down rock, synth-pop and world music- and seminal techno producer Lory D (with a faithful following since more than 20 years, he recently found a new label home at Numbers) are joined by fresh and visionary talents such as Lucy -producer and dj as well as founder of Stroboscopic Artefacts, whose debut album 'Wordplay For Working Bees' won general acclaim thanks to its original combination of experimental techno with ambient, industrial and dub influences-, Esperanza, mixing 90′s Detroit Techno with the universe of Italian melodies and a 70’s touch in an explosive live set, and O/One Circle, “a rough and ready collision pitched somewhere between Daft Punk, Nathan Fake and Sunn O)))” in the words of Resident Advisor. Giorgio Valletta’s eclectic dj set under the moniker of Club To Club Soundsystem will help setting up the right atmosphere.

If there is one artist that encapsulates the new found air of uninhibited creative expression in modern electronic music then surely that artist is Kuedo. Making his name as part of the acclaimed duo Vex'd, who's brutal take on Dubstep helped define it in its infancy, Jamie Teasdale's re-invention under his Kuedo moniker is nothing short of breathtaking. He spent each release developing and evolving his sound, the pinnacle of which is his debut LP 'Severant' , also released on Planet Mu. More introspective and melancholic than his earlier works, the emotive, bladerunner-esque soundscapes represent the futuristic, sci-fi world he now inhabits, a world that he has singlehandedly created for himself. His sets also reflect his wildly diverse range of influences and inspirations. Hard Atlanta rap instruments and fervent footwork sit side by side with 80's synth soundtracks, quasi disco and all manner of elements from the post-dubstep musical universe, brought together with seaming ease. What defines Kuedo is, paradoxically, the impossibility of defining him. A renaissance man of electronic music and beyond, here's to the future.

Kuedo will also perform at #C2C12 in Torino, on Saturday 10th November 2012 at the Gran Finale event.
More info at http://clubtoclub.it.

Kris Allen Partners With Music Empowers Foundation and Berklee City Music to Launch Three-City Concert Tour to Raise Awareness for Music Education

BOSTON, April 13, 2011 -- AMERICAN IDOL winner Kris Allen will perform with the Berklee City Music All-Star Band May 2-4 in New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. The concert series, which is open to elementary and high school students, works to raise awareness of the importance and need for music education, particularly in urban areas where schools are reducing or eliminating music programs.

"Kris, Andy Davis and I, our host partners and the other 30+ City Music Network sites across the country are on a mission to not only highlight the importance and life-changing impact that a music education can have on today's urban youth, but also to assure they get access to that education," said J. Curtis Warner, Jr., Executive Director, Berklee City Music.

Allen will perform solo selections from his debut album and ensemble pieces with the All-Star Band to an audience of students who already benefit from or can benefit from the Berklee City Music program.

"To be associated with a leader in music education such as the Berklee City Music program is truly an honor. Music education is vital to any child's development and is a cause that I hold close to my heart. The opportunities that the Berklee program provides to kids are remarkable and inspiring," says Kris Allen.

Joining the ranks of legendary musician Quincy Jones and Phillip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire, Allen will serve as a Berklee City Music Network (BCMN) Ambassador to spread awareness of the program. As part of his role of Ambassador, Kris Allen will attend the Berklee City Music Completion Ceremony in Boston on May 1 and perform songs with the Berklee City Music All-Stars.

Allen has also partnered with Music Empowers Foundation (MEF) to provide the BCMN with a two-year $150,000 grant to fund research measuring the program's impact and its continued expansion and development. "It is very gratifying to partner with Kris in support of an innovative program like Berklee City Music," said Andy Davis, Founder of MEF. "Kris is an amazing advocate for music education and by doing these concerts we hope to raise awareness and attract funding for additional programs."

MEF and Kris Allen will also fund five scholarships for high school students in the BCMN to attend Berklee City Music's Five-Week Summer Program. Nearly $30,000 was raised for the scholarships by Allen's fans during a fundraiser called "Alright with Music," named after Allen's single "Alright With Me."

"A fundamental component to fulfilling our mission is in developing partnerships. We have worked with the Berklee City Music project since 2006 and they have played an integral role in developing the varied music opportunities we offer. As some of our students transition into being Berklee undergraduates we look forward to building deeper and longer lasting bonds," addedPaul J. Thompson, Principal, Urban Assembly School of Music and Art.

Prince Announces Welcome 2 America Live "21 Nite Stand" in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, April 11, 2011 -- Prince, one of the most prolific and groundbreaking artists of our time whose recorded music, live performances and powerful artistry have affected music and pop culture like no other, has declared a string of purple days in Los Angeles. He will bring his extraordinary Welcome 2 America Live tour back to the West Coast with the announcement of a "21 nite stand" in Los Angeles. The Live Nation produced tour arrives on April 14th, 21st and 22nd at the world famous Los Angeles Forum. Tickets for this once in a lifetime event go on sale Tuesday, April 12th at 10am PT at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. Additional dates to be announced soon.

Prince kicked off the Welcome 2 America Live tour in New York with a celebrated six night stand in the New York area which received tremendous acclaim by fans and critics every night. Prince followed up with three intimate nights in Oakland and six special nights in the Carolinas where he performed many of his fan favorite mega-hits which had fans in every market screaming and dancing for more.

In an effort to make the show affordable for all of his fans, Prince has declared that roughly 85% of all tickets will be available at$25, inclusive of all service fees. Prince has taken a different approach with his concerts, announcing shows a matter of days before they happen, but the fans have come out in full force and shown their support. The first 2 Madison Square Garden shows sold out in 30 minutes and over 45,000 tickets were sold in the first 3 days for the string of Oakland shows.

Every show is unique and a night to remember. Special guests for the Los Angeles performances are expected to be announced shortly but for his previous shows Prince has been joined by the likes of Esperanza Spalding, Maceo Parker, Graham Central Station, Santana, Cee Lo Green, Cassandra Wilson, and Sheila E, so many surprises should be expected.

Much like the man himself, the reviews for Welcome 2 America Live have been over the top. "He looks great in heels, in glitter, in silk, in gold, in black, in purple. His voice can go high, it can go low. He can dance on top of a grand piano and not look stupid. He turns restless leg syndrome into an asset. His New Power Generation band is electric, his three backup singers are eclectic, and he is savvy when it comes to choosing openers." says the Charlotte Observer. The New York Daily News raved, "Prince is worthy of all royal accolades…The hit-friendly show had a kinetic confidence and racing pace that spoke of his singular place in pop history," while the New York Times said, "It's easy to envision Prince as another Chuck Berry or James Brown, barnstorming for decades to come." The San Francisco Chronicle raved, "spinning, strutting and swaying in his towering heels as if no time had passed since the days he dominated MTV with his angular suits and perfectly sculpted hair... neither his fantastic voice nor his dynamic legs showing any signs of slowing down."

Citi® is the official credit card of the Welcome 2 America Live tour. Citi® cardmembers will also have access to preferred seats through Citi's Private Pass® Program. For complete details visit www.citiprivatepass.com.
