The tour kicks off at Ireby Music Festival on Saturday 25th May followed by the first leg of the walk from Cumbria arriving at Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland on June 1st.  Steve will then take the tour to Derby and Southwell Folk Festival before returning north for a grand finale at the Folkalpoint festival at The Sage Gateshead on November 30th 2013.

The tour has been inspired by Steve’s long term musical buddy Tim, who developed the neurological condition ataxia which curtailed his ability to perform. Steve wrote and recorded the song Steady, which features Stephen Doherty’s hauntingly beautiful whistle-playing, to raise awareness of ataxia and to support the charity Ataxia UK’s 2020 campaign to find a cure.

Ataxia is a progressive neurological disorder for which there is no cure. It affects motor co-ordination, walking, vision and speech. There are 10,000 adults with the condition in the UK and it can affect any age group including children. Ataxia UK supports people affected by the condition as well as funding vital research into finding a cure. www.ataxia.org.uk/

Steve Bonham says “I want to do something about this ataxia thing and I want to make more people aware of it - so people don’t think those affected are drunk or stupid. I want people to see beyond the stumble and the uncertainty to the still strong person within. And I want to raise some dosh so that good research by clever people can go on.” 

Steve will be show casing Steady along with songs from his 2012 critically acclaimed album ‘The Moon’s High Tide’ and some new pieces. He will be joined by the “Bishop” (keyboards, tuba and percussion) and special guests to create some exhilarating performances of contemporary folk music.  Steve is a folk veteran and has collaborated with folk royalty such as ex-Saw Doctor Pearce Doherty, Jimmy Higgins (Irish band Altan) and Fairport Convention’s legendary Dave Pegg.

The 69-year-old icon told The Sun that he used to frequent his local library in Dartford many years ago.

However, the paper says he owes the book lending service around £20,000 after not paying back old fines.

Speaking about the Kent library, Richards said:

"It was a place where you get a hint there was a place called civilisation."

However, he added: "I still owe fines from about 50 years ago."

The Rolling Stones are currently on their 50 And Counting tour in North America, which will later take them to the UK for shows at the Glastonbury Festival and London's Hyde Park.

The 'All Time Low' boyband will top the bill at SD2, a one-day event in Brighton due to be held later this year.

The pop shindig will take place at Stanmer Park on September 29, with tickets going on sale from Friday (May 24).

Also on the bill so far are The Saturdays, with many more names due to be announced in due course.

In a statement, SD2 promoter Matt Priest said: "We're delighted to launch SD2 to Brighton & Sussex. We have assembled some of the best pop acts the UK has to offer; The Wanted are a global phenomenon and The Saturdays have established themselves as the country's biggest girl band."

Both acts meanwhile are currently reduced to a four-piece, with The Wanted's Nathan Sykes recovering from a vocal operation and The Saturdays' Rochelle Humes entering her third day as a mother.

Time for a laugh at Beverley Festival

Since he started performing stand-up he has had a meteoric rise up the comedy ladder and has gone from ‘open spot’ to headliner in an incredibly short length of time. Now a regular MC and headlining act at the top London and UK comedy clubs including the prestigious Jongleurs circuit and the Comedy Store, he is certainly going to receive a big welcome at the festival. Following on the Saturday, and back by popular demand, is that wackiest of characters, John Shuttleworth.  Quoted as being "A National Institution...the 42nd Best Reason to Love Britain"  Sunday Telegraph Shuttleworth will be bring in his own special brand of comedy to the festival. The Sony and Perrier nominated Shuttleworth will be venturing beyond his garden gate to tread the mean streets of Beverley and wander up to take a stroll around Beverley’s Racecourse. Which is better: city life or country living? Supermarket or village shop? Or is it better to sit in your shed and count the cobwebs? Those are some of the questions the star of Radio 4's ‘The Shuttleworths’, and TV’s ‘500 Bus Stops’ will be asking the audience on Saturday 22 June.  “His stand up is second to none, his timing is impeccable, and you can practically warm your hands on his good nature “ The Guardian Guide. "Wonderful, wacky, and weird" Radio Times.

Not only will Mr Shuttleworth be appearing live at the festival, but he will also be appearing twice in his film “Southern Softees” on the Saturday of his performance.

To round off a weekend of humour, the festival is proud to include in its programme a cabaret version of its Patron, John Godber’s award winning film play “Bouncers” in which we welcome you to a vision of British Urban Nightlife’. Lucky Eric and the rest of the Bouncers will arrive at the festival on Sunday 23rd  for audiences to spend a night with Baz and the lads, Plain Elaine and, if they are Lucky, Sexy Suzy, along with a host of other characters.  Follow them on their Friday night out , from the hairdressers to the drunken taxi ride home, all under the watchful eyes of the four men in black. Performed by a top-notch cast  “Bouncers” should not to be missed!

With classic swing from Octopus, Blues powerhouse meets hillbilly boogie with Cherry-Lee Mewis, Latin soul party band Cadenas Vivaz, infectious rhythms and lots of toe tapping plus some great Yorkshire humour from the Harri Watts Band, one of the most creative and striking performers currently working on the UK scene Gwyneth Herbert, a celebration of Kenny Ball, performed by his Jazzmen and son Keith Ball, Irelands former Young Guitarist of the Year Simon McBride (who is now ranked among the best blues-rock players anywhere in the world), accomplished piano player  Rob Law Quartet with guitarist Thom Whitworth, one of the country's most polished singers Trudy Kerr and her quartet, 'The UK's most exciting and original Blues band' 24 Pesos and finally closing the festival, Ben Beattie's Jazz Essentials with Hall owner and saxophonist Simon Cunliffe-Lister.

Although camping is limited, there is plenty of space and your camping experience should be a happy and relaxing one whilst at Burton Agnes Hall.
With panoramic views of the countryside and Hall and its gardens, with good toilets, free hot showers provided at no extra charge, clearly marked drinking water points, café and shops (in the Hall’s courtyard), we do advise buying vouchers in advance to ensure a pitch.

The Dance man will top the bill at the Isle of Wight festival on its Friday night (September 6).

Norman Cook will play a special set called 'Fatboy Slim's Bestival Birthday Bash' in honour of the festival's 10th anniversary.

He spoke meanwhile about fellow headliners Sir Elton John and Snoop Dogg/Lion at a Bestival party last night (May 15), saying: 

"Elton actually opened for me in Ibiza last year! No, I played a show with Elton in Ibiza last year, and he's a great sport. To play to the Ibiza crowd - it was like me, and Steve Angello and then Elton slammed in the middle - but he's great, he just went on with his piano, no band, and rocked the Ibiza crowd with just a piano."

He added: "Snoop...I met very briefly once, he didn't make a lot of sense, and makes even less sense now he's been reincarnated [as Snoop Lion]."

UMEK’s superstar status was furthermore confirmed last week, when he was declared the number one trending techno and tech house artist on Soundcloud by social media analyzing website TopDeejays.com.

On his upcoming  American tour in June, UMEK is confirmed to appear in Mexico City’s Babilonia Club on 21st, perform on the main stage of EDC Las Vegas, rock the huge crowd on Ottawa Stadium and fill the gaps between festivals with a few soon to be sold out club nights in New York, Tampa, San Francisco and Toronto.

The summer shindig is due to take place between July 12-14 at London's Olympic Park, with Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z confirmed to headline.

A host of new names have now been added to the line-up, with will.i.am due to warm up for Timberlake and Jay-Z's collaborative set on Sunday July 14.

Former X Factor star Misha B has also been confirmed for the same day, with Devlin announced for the Saturday (July 13).

Other names added to the line-up include Fazer, Mikky Ekko and Zane Lowe.

Wales own Green Man is really easy to get to by train with a free shuttle bus taking right from the local station into the festival. If you are coming by car its approximately 3 hours from London, 3hrs from Manchester, 3hrs 30mins Brighton, 1hr 30mins Bristol.

The shindig is due to take place in Balado, Scotland over July 12-14 and it will see Rihanna, Mumford & Sons and The Killers headline.

A fresh batch of pop names have been added to the line-up, with Ke$ha, Little Mix and James Arthur heading the announcement.

They are joined by Lawson, Gabrielle Aplin and Diana Vickers as the popular festival takes shape.

Also added to the bill are former X Factor star Lucy Spraggan, Bo Bruce and Josh Record.

The iconic Worthy Farm shindig is returning in June and The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons are lined up to headline.

This has seemingly angered Kasabian singer Tom Meighan, who told NME that they are the perfect act to close the festival. He said:

"I'm not playing second fiddle to those bands. We're just as good, if not better. We're the ultimate, we're the headline band. But [promoter Michael Eavis] didn't call us, the b*stard."

The indie-rocker added: "Glastonbury's on our 'to-do' list. All he's got to do is pick up the phone. We've got every f**king right to headline Glastonbury 'cos we're good enough. It will happen."

Kasabian last played the festival in 2009, where they performed underneath headliner Bruce Springsteen.
