Paris Hilton signs to Cash Money to make a 'house music' album

Socialite and singer Paris Hilton has been signed to Lil Wayne's Cash Money Records and revealed that her next move will be to work on an album full of 'house music'.

Speaking to Showbiz 411, the heiress explained: "This is a lot different than my first album. It's really going to be house music." While Cash Money reps have confirmed the surprising news, a spokesperson for Hilton told MTV:

"Paris Hilton is in talks with a number of record labels right now but we can't confirm anything. When a deal is finalized we will make an official announcement."

Cash Money's other artists include rappers Nicki Minaj and Drake, although they're signed to Young Money Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of the label.

Hilton is no stranger to the YMCMB crew as last year she released a track with Weezy named 'Last Night' and he was also at her birthday event earlier this year in Los Angeles. She launched her music career back in 2006 with a self-titled debut album and lead single called 'Stars Are Blind'.

Hanson on new album: 'We had our fans in mind while we were writing it'

'MMMBop' trio Hanson have opened up about their forthcoming new album 'Anthem', which will be their sixth full-length offering.

The brothers are due to release the cut on June 18 and explained to Billboard.com that when writing the songs, they thought about how their fans will react to them when they hear them performed live:

"It's got a lot of big sounding songs. We really thought of the audience when we did them – we imagined the interaction with the crowd."

The oldest member, Isaac, added that the styles of music that feature on the record are diverse: "We also had some friends doing strings. The album is hopefully anthemic."

Hanson released the album's lead single, 'Get The Girl Back', on April 9 and the music video has now been released.

Daft Punk star: 'Someone once ran up a huge bar tab pretending to be me'

Thomas Bangalter, one half of French electro-duo Daft Punk, has revealed that someone once ran up a very expensive bar tab using his name because he wears a robot helmet for his music career so can go unnoticed.

During an interview with the Rolling Stone, the 'Get Lucky' hitmaker admitted it was rather entertaining to hear that a member of public had the guts to do such a thing:

"One thing I like about the masks is that I don't have people constantly coming up to me and reminding me what I do. It's nice to be able to forget, but there are occasional downsides. Several years ago in Ibiza some guy ran up exorbitant bar tabs at clubs while claiming to be me."

In the same interview, the pair also discussed their sci-fi anonymity and confessed that they went with the robot heads because "robots are exciting to people":

"We're interested in the line between fiction and reality, creating these fictional personas that exist in real life. Kraftwerk and Ziggy Stardust and Kiss; people thought the helmets were marketing or something, but for us it was sci-fi glam. We're not performers, we're not models – it would not be enjoyable for humanity to see our features, but the robots are exciting to people."

Jessie J unveils 'Laserlight' music video

The music video for Jessie J's collaboration with dance master David Guetta has finally hit the web after leaking ahead of schedule.

The video for 'Laserlight', which is an anthemic track and features the French DJ, begins with the vocal superstar sat in the back seat of a car wearing a spiked leather jacket and moves to a movie theatre before cutting to the star in a shadowy room full of vibrant lasers.

It is a stylish offering and the visuals are particularly striking with the contrast of dark backgrounds with bright beams of light, and it will serve as the fifth single to be taken from Jessie J's debut studio album 'Who You Are'.

She also performed her first live gig last night (April 9) in Los Angeles and told her Heartbeats via social networking site Twitter that it "felt brand new" and was an "inspiring" experience.
