Shropshire born Chris Hawkins has broadcast around most of the BBC regions, but his life with BBC6 Music has pretty much revolved around London.
As the move edged closer, Chris began to think more about life in the North West and especially around the Manchester area. What’s the best local food? Do I need to buy a round? Does The Ivy have a Manchester restaurant? He needed help and quickly, men with local knowledge, men who had been around the block…a few times. He needed The Lancashire Hotpot’s Whippetpedia Guide to the North!

Tune into Chris Hawkins’ 6 Music show each day from March 26th to 30th to hear The Lancashire Hotpots Whippetpedia feature as they guide Chris through life in the North.

Previous albums have seen the band hit No.1 in the iTunes charts and No. 2 in the BBC6 Music chart. GMTV and Granada TV appearances have also been chalked up for the ultimate laugh out loud good time band.

When Time Out magazine asked him if he would like to present the US version of the hit show, he said: “It would be duplicitous of me to say that I wouldn’t be interested in it - of course, I would. I do want to work out there.”

O’Leary praised Ryan Seacrest, the man thought to be his main rival to host 'X Factor' in the US, saying: “He’s done a great job, the guy’s a workaholic. He’s got nerves of steel.”

Girls Aloud to regroup

Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts revealed during an interview on GMTV this morning, that the girl group are set to get back together at the end of this year.

Roberts was on the TV show promoting her latest Dainty Doll make-up range.

When asked about the many, many break-up rumours that have surfaced in recent months, she explained, "Well we're still all on our little break so we're all doing our own thing. Our break hasn't been up yet - we were supposed to have a year off, so at the end of the year we'll start to regroup and talk about the future plans."

As for the media reports that Nadine Coyle is to be booted out of the group when they record their new album next year, Roberts said, "I think (the rumours are) one of those things that as a band we've always had from day one and at the moment it seems to be very prominent."

As well as appearing as a guest judge on the current series of 'Britain's Next Top Model', the singer has been working behind-the-scenes on the re-launch of her Dainty Doll make-up range, which is set to be unleashed at Harrods on August 24 at 12:30pm.

Jedward plan to release concept album

X Factor's John and Edward have revealed that they are planning to release a concept album.

The Irish twins said that their debut record would include "big anthems" and "have a storyline" connecting the songs. "I'd like to have a whole album with a concept around it. It's not just random songs. I want the whole record to connect if you listen to it from the beginning," said John. "It's not an album that will fade away, you know those records where everyone just listens to one song. It will be a huge impact album with a different sound." Edward added: "It has to have a storyline and a main concept, I think. Something like Pink's Funhouse or the last Justin Timberlake record."

The Grimes brothers also said that they would be considering how the tracks would work on tour and in music videos. "You can't just come out with a random album because you have to think ahead to all your tours," said John. "You have to be aware of that and the videos when you pick the songs. We want each song to have a different sound. We don't want it to be like, 'Oh these tracks all have the same tone, just with different lyrics'. We want big anthems on there, some big songs."

John and Edward's debut solo single 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)' is available for download on January 31.
