Demi Lovato blames lack of 'regular-sized' female role models for eating disorder

Songstress Demi Lovato has revealed that a lack of positive role models when going through her teen years contributed to the development of her eating disorder along with other issues.

During a personal interview with Nightline, the 'Skyscraper' beauty explained that celebrities she looked up to were all very thin, which both created and fed an unhealthy expectation of her own body:

"When I was growing up, I had no-one to look up to in the spotlight that was a regular-sized girl. This was the time when socialites were very, very thin and were going to clubs, and that's what I had on my wall - I had pictures of these girls that were so tiny."

She also opened up about going to rehab and explained that she was at the point where it was her only option, but looking back she's glad she recognised that she needed help:

"I knew that I was in trouble and I knew that I couldn't do it on my own. The difference is now when I don't want to eat or I want to throw up after a meal, I tell somebody, and that instantly takes away the power of what that has on me if I were to do it."

Towards the end of the interview, Lovato added that if Lindsay Lohan ever needs support while she's experiencing a stay in rehab she would gladly help her: "I love Lindsay. She's one of my friends and I will always be there if she ever reaches out, but it's not my place to give her words of advice. I can't sit here and say that I am Miss Recovery, that I'll be that way for the rest of my life."

Ke$ha praises 'flawless' Beyoncé

'Die Young' songstress Ke$ha has opened up about her admiration of vocal sensation Beyoncé in a new interview with Look magazine.

Speaking about the 'Halo' superstar's documentary film, 'Life Is But A Dream', in comparison with her own ('My Crazy Beautiful Life'), Ke$ha revealed that after watching it she was so impressed with her work ethic, talent and ability to show her true self to the world:

"I think she might actually be perfect. I show my flaws - they're real. I don't have a perfect body. It's important for girls to see that don't have to be perfect."

She also joked that her text-message based friendship with One Direction's Harry Styles is purely platonic as she's terrified of the group's fans:

"Oh no! He and I are just friends. Actually we started texting a long time ago and we're just friendly, it's not sexy. I hope the One Direction fans don't want to beat me up. I'm just a fan too."

Whitney Houston's mother says she's proud of daughter in first interview since singer's death

Whitney Houston’s mother Cissy has revealed she stills feels proud of her daughter in her first interview since the singer’s death last month.

The 78-year-old, herself a Grammy Award-winning gospel singer, broke her silence about the star’s passing in an interview with New Jersey-based TV channel My9.

She said: "I know I did the best I could... I don't blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything. I'm very proud of my daughter. She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here... she was a very wonderful person."

The 48-year-old superstar was recently confirmed to have died of accidental drowning combined with effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use, and Cissy confessed that she is still coming to terms with the tragedy: “I have my moments... I'm not there yet... I don't think I'm any more courageous than anyone else."

But Cissy, who appeared in Whitney’s video for ‘The Greatest Love Of All,' strenuously denied claims that her daughter was struggling financially before her death, adding: "Whitney did not die broke... she's not broke. None of that crap."
