Well-known for supporting new British talent, Wretch 32 was the first British grime artist to sample a peer when he used Kano’s ‘P’s and Q’s’ for his club track ‘Pop?’ earlier this year. True to form, Wretch has scouted hot up-and-coming London-based singerShakka to feature on ‘Blackout’; his effortless resounding vocal melts over the samba drum rhythms and velvety bassline’s. Shakka has been a regular performer up and down the country for the past few years and Wretch has always kept a keen eye on his progress.

Laced with Wretch’s signature flow and discerning rhymes, ‘Blackout’ pays homage to soaring tribal vocal sounds, capturing a laid-back carnival atmosphere this perfectly sculpted track has the multi-layered depth of Wretch’s future-classic sound. The record demonstrates his willingness to try new things and his overall growth as an artist.
In 2011, Wretch 32 released his gold-certified LP ‘Black And White’ which amassed over one million record sales and had three top 5 singles including the gritty ‘Traktor’ and ‘Unorthodox ft. Example’. Crowned ‘MC of the year’ by MTV for two years in a row and as one of the focal artists for the 2012 Olympic Games, Wretch 32 has evolved his style into a seriously unique sound; chilled melodies, trademark bars and soaring choruses – all of which will be seen during his live show.

Wretch 32’s third studio album will be released later this summer. Blackout features remixes from T Williams, Bobby Tank, Petite Noir and Will And Bill.

Kyrie London's Rooftop's Hit's VEVO Top Video Chart @ #3 Today May 4th 2013

Kyrie London Rooftop Video Hit #3 VEVO Today 4th May 2013

http://www.vevo.com/videos/topvideos#genre=pop&order=mostviewedtoday

It's the digital age upon us and collaborations are faster becoming the highway to success. With album sales down and physical sales almost obsolete, the hottest topics are at the moment all edited down to 3 minutes for which it seems to be the single sale of the century. 40% growth in single sales from last year, and almost back to the glory days of the huge sales of the 90s, but delivered courtesy of megabytes. VEVO & Youtube's jumping on board, and Billboard together with Soundscan are reporting more single sales than we have time to listen to. They're even now counting youtube views as part of the algorithm that measures chart success. Newcomer Kyrie London is at the beginning of a digital era. Her debut single "Rooftops" is due for release June 2nd, and surprisingly features UK Garage Innovator and Daft Punk Collaborator Todd Edwards. Edwards is currently celebrating the success of the first single off Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, entitled "Get Lucky" featuring the rhythmic styling of Chic founder Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes.

The first cut from the album sounds like it just came out of Studio 54. Could this be the reincarnation of disco? Surprisingly soul has never left us in the words of Pharrell but just got lost along the way. The single debuted at #1 in 10 countries on itunes. Kyrie London is also hoping over the next couple weeks that she too will get lucky!

Kyrie's debut single "Rooftops" was remixed by Todd the God Edwards who put his unique spin on the record and also appeared alongside screen actor Robbie Gee for this 5 and a half minute short cinematic video, directed by Phil Hawkins. You can see the two walking down side by side with Kyrie as her enforcers. The two then proceed to part the crowd and bring her to the footsteps of a large fighting arena. Robbie Gee, movie star and well-loved UK TV actor has certainly not lost his charm. With his soft spoken voice and gangster-like appearance, he oozes substance and delivers the impacting lines, "This is your break. This is your time," like only Robbie Gee could. Compelling? Yes. Out of the ordinary? Definitely. But somehow it manages to keep you there like mother's sticky treacle pudding. I also found myself feeling quite nostalgic on the journey through this classic 80s feel good movie approach. "It's going down" in the gritty urban setting which suddenly springs to life like an episode of Fame or like one of my all-time favorites Flash Dance. Fame Costs, and here's where you start paying in sweat. Very reminiscent of Eminem's 8 Mile. While Sancola Music anticipates the forthcoming album release of their first US artist, Kyrie's melodies are certainly at the forefront, interwoven into a tapestry of electronic sounds and thudding kick drums, but somehow maintaining a human connection. Definitely a breath of fresh air in the right direction, due west if I'm correct in thinking, according to the robots.

BOMB THE BASS RETURN WITH THEIR 6th STUDIO ALBUM 'IN THE SUN'

BOMB THE BASS 'IN THE SUN'

REL. DATE: JUNE/JULY 2013 / LABEL: O*SOLO

**BOMB THE BASS RETURN WITH THEIR 6th STUDIO ALBUM 'IN THE SUN' **

With huge hits such as ‘Beat Dis’ and 'Bug Powder Dust' , Bomb The Bass helped to mould the late1980s acid house and trip hop scenes. Their linchpin, Tim Simenon, has led the group through a number of different incarnations, painting vivid pictures of modern culture on albums like ‘Clear’, ‘Unknown Territory’ and ‘Into The Dragon’, whilst also producing for Depeche Mode and Neneh Cherry, among many others. More recently Bomb The Bass have settled as a duo, vocalist Paul Conboy providing lyrical complements to Simenon’s continually inventive productions. With new album 'In The Sun' the duo have made arguably their best work under the moniker, ‘In The Sun’, is a slow burning night time record to tantalise the senses. Never ones to stand still, Tim Simenon and Paul Conboy hone their sound to nine dreamy, hypnotic songs that retain their urban edge, with strong rhythmic input from drummer Christian Eigner. ‘Time Falls Apart’ and the single ‘Wandering Star’ are prime examples; the former’s woozy mood complemented by urgent brass stabs, the latter featuring a powerful and affirming vocal. The album’s pulse beats strongly in ‘All Alone’, where held background textures collide with quick percussion to give nervous energy, and the gritty, backs-to-the-wall approach of ‘We Are All Lost’. ‘Where Better’, meanwhile, charms with a warm hearted and catchy chorus loop, the widescreen production especially rewarding on headphones. With ‘In The Sun’, Simenon and Conboy open another new door in the Bomb The Bass story, the equal of anything they’ve produced so far.

Since her critically acclaimed 2010 debut album 'Catching a Tiger', Lissie has forged a reputation as one of the most talented and enigmatic female rock artists of recent times.
Bristling with distorted guitars and fiery attitude, 'Shameless' is a smouldering commentary on the culture of modern celebrity, introspectively examining what it takes to achieve fame and success in current times.
Ed Sheeran plots "gritty" film roles

Ed Sheeran has hinted that he would like to try acting.

The singer-songwriter told The Sun that he might be interested in stepping out of music for a moment and trying his hand at cinema.

However, he reckons that a "gritty" role would be best as it would dispel his "clean cut" and "smiley" persona. Speaking about acting, Sheeran said:

"If I ever did anything, I'd love to do something like Skagboys, a gritty Brit flick. Because I'm a bit clean cut and a bit smiley, it would be good to do something very out of the ordinary."

Sheeran added that whilst he did theatre when he was a teenager, he isn't so sure on his acting abilities. He said:

"I did National Youth Theatre when I was 16. I can hold a tune but my acting is not quite up to the same standard yet."
