David Beckham: 'I owe everything to Victoria'

Footballer David Beckham has praised the constant love, support and encouragement given to him by his wife, Victoria Beckham, while announcing details of his retirement today (May 17).

He revealed this afternoon that he will bow out of the sport when his season ends with Paris Saint-German in two games' time, and in a statement thanked his wife and family for 'everything':

"I wouldn't have achieved what I have done today without my family. I'm grateful for my parents' sacrifice, which made me realise my dreams. I owe everything to Victoria and the kids, who have given me the inspiration and support to play at the highest level for such a long period."

Fashion designer and Spice Girl Victoria took to her official Twitter page earlier, writing a message of thanks to her fans: "Thank you for all your lovely messages, we are so proud of you David x vb."

She also shared a personal snapshot of herself posing with Beckham, which can be seen above left. Together, the couple have three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, and one daughter, Harper.

Aaron Fyfe set to release debut EP ‘Closer To You’

“The talent of Aaron Fyfe is evident… definitely someone to watch for” Glasgowwest.com

Glasgow based singer-songwriter Aaron Fyfe is undoubtedly one of the most talented upcoming musicians in the UK at the moment. Signed last year to Innovation Music after an impromptu performance at a party (a testament to the raw talent of the Dunblane-born artist); Aaron Fyfe has gone on to impress some of the biggest names in the industry.

With Aaron Fyfe’s natural raw talent, and the unbelievably high calibre of music industry professionals that have worked on the EP, certainly, we can expect big things from the ‘Closer To You’ EP. Produced by Jud Mahoney (known for his work with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Justin Timberlake); mixed by Steve Price (who in 2012 won a Grammy for his engineering work on the Adele album 21 – and more recently was championed for his work on Emeli Sande); and mastered by Robin Schmidt (who worked on Jake Bugg’s recent UK number 1 album).

Fyfe’s emotive vocal quality and honest lyrics are reminiscent of Ray Lamontagne (who Fyfe cites as one of his biggest musical influences, alongside the likes of Ben Harper and Tracy Chapman). His undeniable talent is enriched by a dynamic band of musicians that help to present his diverse collection of songs while maintaining a distinctive and resonating sound.

The EP is a summary of Fyfe’s life story so far – “The ups and downs, the ins and outs”. Making music is clearly something that is very special to him; “I love it, it’s all I really ever wanted to do. As Duane Allman said, ‘music moves your heart and makes your soul feel good.’ I think that nails it!”

‘Closer To You’ will be released Monday 06 May 2013 through Innovation Music.

Victoria Beckham has revealed that she recently left her 13-year-old son Brooklyn in house when going on a school run.

She told Vanity Fair that she had her daughter Harper in the car with her, but when she was on the road she realised that she had "forgot something" - her son.

However, all was not lost, with the fashionista turning around the car and headed back for her forgotten child. She said:

"I jumped in my Range Rover, put the car seat in, put my iPod on and drove to school. And then I realised I'd left Brooklyn in the kitchen. I was driving along, talking away, and all of a sudden, I looked down at the seat, and I was like: 'S**t! S**t! I've forgot something.'"

She continued: "'I felt like such an idiot because I was in a huge rush. Harper was in the car, I was in the car, and we were on the way to school - but we did not have the child who needed to go to school. I'd gotten down the road, and I literally had to turn around and drive straight back."
