Jedward complete marathon without any training

Jedward completed the Los Angeles marathon yesterday despite claiming they hadn’t trained at all for the 26-mile run.

John and Edward, who competed in the race dressed in matching stars and stripes kits, revealed that they hadn’t prepared for the event, and had virtually no sleep or food on the day itself.

However, the 20-year-old Irish twins, who last month were selected as Ireland’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest for the second year running, still somehow managed to finish the course, which went through Hollywood and Beverley Hills before finishing on the West Coast’s Ocean Avenue.

The X-Factor stars later posted several tweets about their achievement in their usual excitable style including: “The swim shorts that we had have now given us baby rash! And we are not babies but now we know what it feels like,” and "We where singing our news songs all the way! finishing the lyrics together and mixing it up (sic).”

JLS star pursues songwriting sideline

JLS star Oritse Williams has revealed he wants to write songs for as many different people as possible.

The 25-year-old, whose band’s official Sport Relief single, ‘Proud,’ was released earlier today, told The Daily Record that he has already penned several tracks with certain artists in mind:

“I keep writing and writing. I pitched a song for Usher the other day and haven’t heard anything back yet.

“I’d love to write with Ne-Yo, or Bruno Mars, and also Gary Barlow. One day, if there is an opportunity, I’ll take it up."

Oritse, who has also been busy mentoring new girlband and current JLS support act Vida, has already seen one of his songs recorded by a certain Irish twin duo.

He said: “I wrote a song for Jedward – their last single ‘Wow Oh Wow.’

“It wasn’t widely known. I didn’t initially write the song for them but when they were looking for songs I thought it would be perfect. Louis Walsh called me up and said: ‘I heard you wrote this song. Can I use it for Jedward?’ and I said: ‘Why not? Go for it’.”

Jedward installed as joint second favourite for Eurovision

Jedward have already been installed as joint second favourites to win this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The effervescent duo were announced recently as Ireland's representatives for a second year in a row.

They'll perform their new track 'Waterline' as they attempt to navigate their way through the semi-finals in search of a spot at the grand final - but bookmaker William Hill have already placed them as joint second favourites to win the whole competition.

William Hill give the pair odds of 8/1 - not far off from overall favourites Denmark, who are priced at 7/1. The UK meanwhile remain a long shot with odds of 25/1.

The bookmaker's spokesman Joe Crilly said: "Jedward came close last year, eventually finishing a respectable eighth and with another year under their belts, could well do even better in Azerbaijan."

Jedward are to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest for the second year in a row.

The 20-year-old twins, who recently announced they are to host a new Channel 5 clip show, beat four other acts to top the vote on last night’s The Late Late Show Eurosong Special.

The X-Factor duo impressed both the regional jury and the public with their track, 'Waterline,' and will now travel to the Azerbaijan capital of Baku for the first semi-final on May 22.

In typically excitable style, the pair said of their win: "It's crazy, oh my God we're so excited. We're going back and we have so many fans all across Europe. It's going to be like, we are back, the return of Jedward."

The pair achieved Ireland’s highest position in over a decade when their track, ‘Lipstick,’ finished eighth at last year’s competition in Düsseldorf.

Aston from JLS, Jedward and Pixie Lott join the anti-bullying campaign, Big March 2012

Aston Merrygold from JLS will be taking part in next year's Big March, which is part of Anti-Bullying Week, alongside Pixie Lott and the lively duo, Jedward.

This event will take place online on January 31 and it will be the world’s first ever global virtual protest march.

Millions of avatars created by young people, celebrities, teachers and parents from around the world, will digitally march with placards across global websites to deliver a petition to a virtual United Nations (UN) building in New York asking that the UN make it a child’s right to live a life free from bullying.

Aston's avatar can be seen above and you can create your own avatar for this very important campaign at www.beatbullying.org/bigmarch.

The boyband member describes bullying as "disgusting" and he wants as many people to get involved so that young people can get the help that they need:

“Making someone feel scared or threatened is disgusting but bullying happens the world over and it is plain wrong. I never thought I would be affected by bullying but I was, and as a Beatbullying ambassador I know how important it is that young people get the support available at Cybermentors.org.uk and know that they are not alone...Bullies mustn’t get away with it. We need to make sure the world’s children are safe from bullying and abuse, so this year I’m taking part in Beatbullying’s The Big March 2012 to stop bullying around the world for good – join my avatar and march with thousands of others on the world’s first global virtual march at www.beatbullying.org/bigmarch".

Last year, over 800,000 people marched digitally on Downing Street so make sure you get involved in the Big March 2012 to make a difference.

Check out Pixie Lott's song, 'Get Weak', which she released for last year's campaign and JLS' latest video for 'Take A Chance On Me':
