The catchy tune featuring Pharrell Williams and TI has secured the No. 1 spot in the midweek chart update today (June 5).

According to today’s Official Chart Update, 'Blurred Lines' is outselling its closest competitor Naughty Boy Featuring Sam Smith’s 'La La La', by nearly two to one.

After reaching the top spot last weekend, Thicke told OfficialCharts.com: “It is an honour and a pleasure to be Number 1 in the UK. It’s something I’ve always dreamed of, and I am so grateful to all the people who made this dream come true. Thank you!”

Former X Factor finalists Union J's new track 'Carry You' has entered the mid-week chart at No. 3 while chart topping track 'Get Lucky' from Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams has slipped one place to No. 4.

Passenger's 'Let Her Go' is down two places to No. 6 while Jessie J's newest single 'Wild' featuring Dizzee Rascal and Big Sean has also slipped three places to No. 8.

Demi Lovato's 'Heart Attack' is down one place to No. 11 while Calvin Harris' 'I Need Your Love' featuring British songstress Ellie Goulding has dropped two places to No. 18 after 15 weeks in the chart.

As previously reported, the 'Domino' star revealed recently that she has collaborated with the Scottish hitmaker on her new album.

They will appear together on a song that has been written by Ester Dean.

Taking to Instagram today (June 5), Harris said that he was working on his new Jessie J song for the very last time. He said:

"Tweakin this @jessiej song for the last time...love this track."

He added a photo of a computer screen that shows all the song's individual tracks, with 'strings' and 'ambient' seen on the image.

Jessie J's new album does not yet have a release date, but she has already released the track 'Wild' as its first single.

The 32-year-old, who found fame after appearing on dating show The Bachelor, was dining in the restaurant of Los Angeles’ W Hotel when she claims that the teenage heartthrob approached her.

She said: “We were seated just ­behind Harry’s table. I didn’t even know who Harry was. I listen to country music and I had never heard of One Direction, but my friend did and pointed him out to me.

“When we got up to leave, he walked straight up to me and said he would like to take me out for dinner. I didn’t know what to say. I think I just laughed.

“Then he said he was playing a ­concert in Canada later this year. I told him that ­maybe my friend and I would come to the show. He said he would like that, then he asked for my phone number. I can’t ­remember what I said. I don’t think I was rude. I just laughed and told him I was way too old for him."

The Canadian-born celebrity, who is the same age as Styles’ former girlfriend Caroline Flack, then revealed that Styles took the knockback well before adding: “Harry is cute and if I was 21, I would be all over him. But I’m 32 and I just don’t think that would be ­appropriate.

“It was only a few days after I met Harry that I realised what a big deal One Direction is. But I don’t regret ­turning him down.”
