Shelter spokeswoman: 'Justin Bieber is abandoning his pet monkey'

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber has been given until Friday, May 17 to claim his pet monkey, named Mally, who was seized by officials at Munich airport because he didn't have the adequate paperwork to keep him.

The adorable capuchin was taken to the Munich Animal Protection League centre after Bieber was denied permission to carry Mally around on tour, but shelter spokeswoman Judith Brettmeister has revealed that the teen superstar won't be coming back to collect him:

"Bieber's lawyers have indicated they would like to leave the monkey. From an animal rights perspective, it would have been better to do that before, as he is being kept well here but not with other members of his own species. But it is now jumping around, learning slowly to climb and to use its tail."

The 'Boyfriend' heartthrob took to his official Twitter page earlier this evening (May 13) and told his fans around the globe that he's looking forward to some time off following his Believe tour: "Glad to chill for a few days. gonna take it easy. that was an amazing tour. thanks to all the fans around the world. #grateful to all of u."

MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE RETURNS TO THE UK

With the upcoming release of their brand new studio album “How I Learned To Stop Giving A Shit And Love Mindless Self Indulgence”, US musical mentalists MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE have announced a seven date run of the UK this winter, which spookily appears to have been destined as long as 200 years ago.

The famous English bard and seer SIR JIMMY EURINE once wrote:

“HIDE YOU FISH AND HIDE YOUR CHIPSHIDE YOUR SELF RESTRAINTMINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE ARE COMING BACKTO GIVE YOUR LIFE MEANING AGAIN” “WE SHALL BRING BEATZ WE SHALL BRING HEATAND A LITTLE BIT OF VIOLENCEWE HOPE THAT YOU WILL ALL SKIP SKOOLSO WE CAN GIVE YOU A REAL FUCKING EDUCATION”

(MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE 1813)

These two quatrains, which first appeared on Sir Jimmy’s live journal page in the winter of 1813, may have once appeared vague, but in light of the tour date revelations, one can now easily attribute the predictions to the following MSI shows:

Poll shows Justin Timberlake favourite star for potential U.S. President role

A survey conducted by Public Policy Polling has shown that people would like Justin Timberlake to be the President of the United States of America if a celebrity had to step into the role.

The 'Suit & Tie' superstar won by an impressive 34% of the vote, but girl power proved popular as songstress Adele and Beyoncé came in second and third with 19% and 14% respectively.

Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber didn't do so well with the 571 voters though as he was the only artist named in the results who was disliked by all groups including democrats (54%), republicans (56%) and independents (56%).

MTV reports that 60% of the people who voted in the poll were over 45-years-old and a large number of them (77%) said that classical music was their preferred genre.

Meanwhile, earlier this month Timberlake revealed plans for a '20/20' world tour although he has only confirmed a set of North American and Canadian dates so far.

New Kids On The Block and Aerosmith for Boston Marathon fundraising concert

Details of a fundraising concert to aid the Boston Marathon victims have been revealed today (May 3) and the event will boast an impressive line up of musical performers.

Reformed boyband New Kids On The Block have been confirmed to play at the event, which will take place at Boston's TD Garden on May 30. The group's very own Joey McIntyre was among the runners who took part in the sporting event, which ended in tragedy following a series of bomb blasts on April 15.

The concert has been titled Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration and will also see a live set from natives Aerosmith and rockers Boston, who love the city so much they named their act after it. Proceeds will benefit the One Fund Boston, which was created by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to help those affected by the devastating incident.

Other stars confirmed to perform include Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, comedian Dane Cook, Extreme, Godsmack, The J. Geils Band, Carole King, James Taylor, and Steven Wright.

NKOTB star Donnie Wahlberg said of the fundraiser: "Like so many other proud Bostonians who have been extremely generous, we are honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families. Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but spirits as well."

Tickets are due to go on sale at 10am on May 6.

Top of the Pops to return as a musical

Top of the Pops is to make a return - to the stage, that is.

The classic music TV show has been off the screens around the UK for a number of years now, with calls for its return a regular occurrence.

The BBC reports that a new stage musical is to launch in the UK later this year and will tour through to 2013.

It will be made by the people behind the Michael Jackson tribute stage show Thriller and it is set to focus on the show's period between the 1970s and 1990s.

Producer Derek Nicol said he is looking forward to delving into Top of the Pops history on show. He said:

"Like most people I have nothing but fantastic memories of Top of the Pops. I look forward to delivering a great live show...reflecting the great music that became the soundtrack to many of our lives."
