Speaking to celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, the 'Firework' songstress explained that she really wants to learn "how to live off the land" and intends to get back to nature in 2012:

"I need to breathe a bit and, for me, when I write good songs, it's because I've experienced something. So I really need to take a little bit of time to experience a little bit more so I have better material."

She has been ploughing through dates on her extensive California Dreams Tour for months now and it's not due to end until January 22 so her hiatus won't happen until after Christmas. 

"I wanna travel a little bit and that sounds crazy (after a tour), but really, I wanna travel in my own way. Maybe... the early part of next year, I'm going to go on a wilderness trek, where it's basically like surviving without anything, learning how to make fire, learning how to live off the land, from nature," She added. "I'm really excited to learn how to make fire, if I ever have to go to a party and somebody needs a light! I'm excited to learn how to make fire with my bare hands, if I can."

The 'Teenage Dream' superstar impersonated red-headed Welch during a skit while she was hosting SNL on December 10 and performed a parody of 'Dog Days Are Over'. Although Welch hasn't yet watched the clip, she told Rolling Stone that it's great to be the centre of attention:

"I heard about that! I saw a picture. She looked good. They got the centre parting and the green dress. I haven't seen it, but I heard she did a really good job. It's kind of amazing, but I love the Saturday Night Live people."

"I really love Katy Perry so I feel really honoured," Welch added. "I saw a picture of her as me and I was like, 'Yeah'."

The 'Teenage Dream' superstar donned a long red wig and floaty long-sleeved dress for the skit, which saw her mimic the Florence and the Machine frontwoman perfectly, and performed a parody of 'Dog Days Are Over' - renaming the song 'Dog Trial Is Over'. 

Her presence on the popular U.S. show also saw Andy Samberg dress as Perry's nerdy alter-ego Kathy Beth Terry and 'Bridesmaids' actress Kristen Wiig appeared in the well-known 'California Gurls' costume.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer took time to praise Robyn's fashion sense ahead of appearing on Saturday Night Live together tonight (December 10), calling her a 'tastemaker' of style - even suggesting that Robyn needs to give her advice. She told MTV News:

"I don't need to give her advice. She needs to give me advice. She's cool, dude. She makes everyone cooler...She's just, like, the epitome of effortless cool, like you look at her wardrobe and you think, 'I don't think I could wear that,' but she wears it and she just owns it."

She also spoke of Robyn's penchant for platform shoes - claiming that she started a trend. She added:

"She's always wearing platform shoes, whether it's, like, creepers or Prada shoes. And she was wearing them way back when, in the beginning of the tour. And now Prada's doing them; everyone's wearing them. Rihanna's wearing them. I'm wearing them after all of the convincing, so she's kind of the tastemaker."
