Queen's Brian May confirms plans to work with Adam Lambert again: 'There's talk of an event'

Rock legend Brian May has revealed that since working with vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert last year, the pair have become friends and are currently talking about a new joint project.

Speaking to MTV, May explained that he and Lambert are keen to reunite for another collaboration although it's unlikely to be a tour, despite the fact that the 'Whataya Want From Me' hitmaker stepped into the late Freddie Mercury's shoes and sang for Queen in 2012:

"We are talking about doing something with Adam, probably for TV. He's an amazing artist and a very nice guy. We keep in touch and have a good friendship. We're not talking about touring yet, but we are talking about doing an event."

While Lambert is yet to address the news, he appears to have acknowledged it as earlier this evening (June 17) he tweeted a link to an article about May's remarks and plans.

May talked to MTV News UK on the black carpet of the Kerrang! Awards and revealed that he and the ‘Gangnam Style’ rapper had brunch in London this week to talk about collaborating.

May said: "I met the guy and we had a very interesting chat.

"He's a very thoughtful man and a significant artist. He's also encyclopaedic about Queen and says the reason he wanted to sing is because he saw Queen at Wembley '86 on video.

"We have a couple of ideas, so yeah I'm up for it."

During an interview with NewsRadio 1020 KDKA, the vocal sensation explained that he is more concerned with his integrity as a musician, out gay man and activist for the LGBT community than achieving record-breaking album sales. When asked if his gay rights activism poses a risk to his career, Lambert said:

"I figure in 15 years from now, 20 years from now, I don't want to look back with any regrets. You know, I want to do what I want to do. And ultimately that integrity is the thing that I think is more important than the immediate like sales or, you know, measurable success."

Adam Lambert has revealed that he has an inclination as to what his next album will sound like - but he's keeping his cards close to his chest.

The singer released his last record 'Trespassing' in 2012 and fans are eagerly awaiting news of the singer returning to the studio.

Speaking to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the 'Better Than I Know Myself' star confirmed that he has been thinking about the next album - but he's keeping silent on the matter. He said:

"I do have an idea [of the next album's sound], but I'm not gonna tell ya."

Lambert meanwhile is due to perform at the Pittsburgh Pridefest event on Saturday (June 15) and he added that he wants to use his fame to promote positive issues and raise awareness. The singer added:

"I feel like with celebrity and visibility and fame, there's a responsibility to try to give back and try to use the visibility for the greater good. It's not all about me. It's about trying to raise awareness and getting people to take action. I'm fortunate to have a really cool fan base and they want to be involved."

The singer's shopping spree idea seemingly piqued interest, with Lambert eventually winning the contest. He said:

"We would be sipping champagne, caviar; we would shop the day away. I would take you to get a facial, dermabrasion, a peel, makeup done, hair set - buy you anything you want."

Adam Lambert and LeAnn Rimes have given their support to a new anti-bullying initiative.

The Friend Movement, which was created to spread "positive anti-bully images through art and media", has launched a project called 'The New F Word'.

Its angle is encouraging people to ditch offensive words such as 'freak' and 'fag' and replace it with 'friend'.

Adam Lambert and LeAnn Rimes have appeared in new images for the project, with the duo seen sticking up blurred middle fingers.

The Friend Movement encourage others to take similar photos and give "bullying the bird".

They hope that by doing so, the issue of bullying will be given new levels of awareness.

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has revealed that the song he performed at the Life Ball over the weekend was written especially for that event and won't be released as a single in the future.

The track was penned by the Beat4Feet Music production team and while Lambert belted it out at the charity ball, he took to his official Twitter page earlier today (May 28) and told his 2 million followers that it will be available to re-watch on YouTube, but probably won't surface anywhere else:

"Life Ball song was written specifically 4 this 1 time only costume ball & charity event. It's life was short but will live on via YouTube."

On May 12, however, a tweet was sent from the Life Ball's account that explained the song would be available for purchase, but Lambert is yet to address this statement personally: "As soon as all details have been finalised we'll announce when & where to get the song!"

'Whataya Want From Me' hitmaker Adam Lambert performed an exclusive live set at the Life Ball in Austria on Saturday night (May 25) and belted out a song written especially for the event.

The ball, which is Europe's biggest fundraiser for HIV and AIDS, was held over the weekend in Vienna and had an Arabian '1001 Nights' theme, which the superstar took on board with his stunning costume of a bedazzled headpiece and dramatic sparkling robe.

Writing on his official Twitter page, Lambert revealed his excitement at being there: "Thrilled to be a part of Life Ball! The theme is 1001 Nights and I am playing "Ali Baba" singing a song written exclusively for the event!"

The sang a cut called 'Love Wins Over Glamour', which is an uptempo offering with a dance influence and a great breakdown. Some of the lyrics include: "I seem to be so f**king lucky lately, I've found the key to endless treasure/ My heart is pumping and I like what I see, you give me joy you give me pleasure."

Yahoo! explains that the song was written by the Beat4Feet Music production team, which consists of Martin Gellner and Werner Stranka, with lyrics by Martin, Werner, and Adam.

Adam Lambert's fans land him an O Awards nomination

The fans of vocal sensation Adam Lambert, known collectively as 'Glamberts', have earned the star a nomination at this year's O Awards.

He has been recognised in the 'Fan Army FTW' category, which celebrates artists with the most dedicated, supportive and involved followings.

Competition, however, is tough as the Glamberts will go head-to-head with the fans of Ed Sheeran ('Sheerios'), Selena Gomez ('Selenators'), Tokio Hotel ('Aliens'), Justin Bieber ('Beliebers'), Beyoncé ('Beyhive' members), Demi Lovato ('Lovatics'), Thirty Seconds To Mars ('Echelon'), and All Time Low ('Hustlers') for the exciting title.

The 2013 O Awards will be held on June 19th at 7pm ET/4pm PT online and there will be a "24-hour livestreamed party to celebrate and honor the artists, innovators and fans that are impacting music, technology and counter culture today."

During an interview with Pressparty last summer, the 'Trespassing' hitmaker explained that he feels united with his fans because they all share common ground: "We all want the same things, we all need the same things, we all fear the same things. We’re just different sexes, but we all kind of go through a lot of the same sh*t."
