Monday 20th May - Legendary rock band Soundgarden today announced they will release a brand new repackaged edition of ‘King Animal’, their critically acclaimed album released in November last year. Out on 2nd September 2013, ‘King Animal Plus’ features 5 exclusive live tracks recorded at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles and 1 acoustic track recorded at radio station 89X CIMX in Detroit. ‘King Animal Plus’ will be available as an exclusive pre-order bundle from 22nd May.The band have also announced further European dates and are set to kick off proceedings on September 4th in Helsinki, performing at the Hartwall Arena before taking in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Amsterdam, Manchester, Birmingham, Dublin and London. One of the forefathers of the legendary Seattle alternative rock scene in the 90s, Soundgarden released ‘King Animal’, their sixth studio album and their first in 15 years, to widespread critical acclaim in November 2012.

The customized VOX guitar sold for double the predicted amount during the music auction at Times Square's Hard Rock Café on May 18 and the auction house, Julien's Auctions, explained:

"The rare offering of a VOX guitar played by both John Lennon and George Harrison is what rock & roll legends are made of."

Harrison rehearsed 'I Am The Walrus' on the instrument while Lennon used it in a video shoot for 'Hello Goodbye', both of which feature on 1967 album 'Magical Mystery Tour'.

The guitar was custom made by Mike Bennett and Dickey Denney, and was given to "Magic Alex" Mardas, an engineer at Apple Records and close friend of the Beatles, back in 1967.

Also joining Riahanna for 2 very special shows in Manchester (15th and 16th July) ONLY will be BBC Sound of 2013 winners, Haim.  

Matt Toth and Julio Mejia make up the dynamic, genre defying duo of GTA. Dedicated to their music, they stay holed up in their bedroom studio building beats that can set off any kind of dance floor. Producers without borders, GTA’s future sound has them sought after by some of the biggest names in the dance music game. They’ve had releases on Diplo’s Mad Decent, Laidback Luke’s Mixmash and A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records.
