Will Smith: 'Kanye West has been pushing me to get back into music'

Hollywood actor Will Smith has revealed that 'All Of The Lights' hitmaker Kanye West has been encouraging him to move away from film sets and back into the recording studio.

While speaking to HipHollywood.com about his forthcoming new movie 'After Earth', which is due to be released on May 31, Smith explained that the rapper has been trying to push him back into music:

"I've been messing around with Kanye. We went in the studio a couple times, so I might get the bug. I'm not going to do it unless I'm truly inspired, but Ye's been pushing me a little bit."

Back in February, the pair were spotted in the studio together while in Brazil (shown below), but nothing from the session has ever been released to the public.

Meanwhile, 'After Earth' is the new offering from M. Night Shyamalan and Smith stars alongside his son Jaden (pictured above left) in the science fiction action motion picture.

ALTERNATIVE SOUL SINGER MIDÉ RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE "MAINSTREAM"

The last some of us will have heard from British Alternative/Acoustic Soul singer, songwriter and musician MIDÉ was on last year’s City Lights EP which went on to critical acclaim amidst support from SoulCulture, SBTV and Fame Magazine among several UK tastemakers. Today, he returns with a brand new music video for his forthcoming new single “Mainstream” which is due to be released on May 27 along with an excellent new EP of the same name.

Directed by Charlie Locke and featuring cameo appearances from the likes of MOBO Award nominee Faith Child, emerging London singer Shanteh Fuller and renowned Gospel DJ DJ MRI, the “Mainstream” music video is a simplistic black and white visual affair which allows the actual record and the message behind “Mainstream” to take centre stage…

And does it just? Take the centre stage is exactly what Midé’s “Mainstream” does, with its poignant message and full band sound driven by acoustic guitars along with lush drum patterns, exquisite bass guitar and Rhodes piano arrangements - all arranged and composed by Midé himself and co-produced by Jonathan Owuse-Yianomah, who is signed to Cobalt/Universal.

The 'Halcyon' singer has revealed her plans for 2013, and says sky-diving is on her list of things to do.

She told Billboard: "I want to be a bit more adventurous next year. I need to man up."

Goulding has a busy schedule coming up, and although it's too early to confirm a new album in 2013, the blonde star would like to keep making music in one way or another.

She explained: "Next year is going to be so much [touring], so many shows. It's just going to continue.

She added: "I'd like to do a side-project thing. I might be bringing out something next year. We'll see how much time I have."

Goulding also spoke about the success of her debut album, 'Lights' in the US this year.

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she wants to make a full album with boyfriend Skrillex.

The pair collaborated on the track 'Summit' earlier this year and the 'Lights' star told the AP that she wants to go one further and work on a full record.

She added that they are wholly professional when it comes to talking about music. The British singer said:

"I think in an ideal world we'd love to make a whole record together...but it just so happens that we're both ridiculously busy. When it comes to music, it honestly is really professional. Honestly."

Goulding continued: "If we start talking about music on the phone, it switches immediately to being professional, and not on purpose, but because we're both so passionate about music and it's a very serious thing to us. But at the same time we've had fun making stuff, and I have fun listening to his new stuff because it blows my mind and it's so clever to me, so fascinating it makes me want to laugh, and I laugh because it's so brilliant. He's listened to a lot of my stuff in the early stages. It's really good to have one person, regardless of whether they're a musician or not, it's good to have one person to keep referencing to and asking [his or her] opinion. He's definitely been good to have around during the making of [new album] 'Halcyon'."

Ellie Goulding: "I couldn't walk down the street without having a panic attack"

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she was so overcome by attention and fame that she used to have panic attacks.

The British star released her debut album 'Lights' soon after topping the BBC Sound of 2010 list.

She is set to follow the album up with 'Halcyon' on October 8 but she told The Sun that it hasn't been an easy rise to fame.

Goulding admitted that she couldn't cope with how her new found fame and jet-setting lifestyle was combining with other factors in her life, with panic attacks soon ensuing. The 'Anything Could Happen' singer said:

"There were times when I felt like I was having a heart attack. There was too much adrenaline and my heart was pounding. It's just such a horrible, horrible thing to go through. I hadn't even released my first proper single when I started to feel the strain of attention. But I don't believe that it was the attention that was giving me panic attacks."

She continued: "I think it was everything in my life colliding at the same time. It really did get to a serious point where I couldn't even walk down the street without getting the pain. I'd have a numb arm, a very strange lump in my throat and a really hot chest, like my heart was on fire. I had to take Diazepam but I found it debilitating. I couldn't do anything so I had cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) instead and that actually really worked. The other day I was in Germany and it was a really hectic day and I thought, 'Oh God here we go' but I laid down, started breathing, closed my eyes and told people not to talk to me, and then I was fine."

'Starry Eyed' singer Ellie Goulding has opened up about her relationship with dubstep DJ Skrillex and described it as surprising.

Speaking to You magazine, the British beauty explained that she "didn't see it coming" because it was so soon after she split from Radio 1's Greg James:

"I became very good friends with Sonny when we worked together and after that we realized we wanted to spend a lot of time together. Although we are very similar, I didn't see it coming at all, especially after such a sad time breaking up with Greg."

She added that he spends a lot of the time living out of hotels as a result of his busy touring schedule, but they manage to make it work with a lot of trips to see each other perform:

"Sonny is based in Los Angeles but sort of lives in hotels. I've been splitting my time between my work and seeing him on tour because he pretty much does a show every night, so if I want to see him, I go along."

Speaking to Billboard.com, the 'Starry Eyed' singer explained that she didn't expect to have such a devoted fan base in the USA and the popularity of her single 'Lights' came as a shock:

"Nobody expected it and that's the truth. I'll say to my manager, 'So, how did "Lights" get so big?' Because it's not a song that I wrote thinking, 'This is a smash hit.' I wrote the song because I wanted to write it and I wanted it on the record and when it was finished I was like, 'Yeah, this is a cool song, it's an Ellie Goulding song and my heart is with it.'"

"So we had it as a bonus track on the first record and it's just kind of gone mental! I don't know why, because I never saw it as an obvious Top Five American song. I never imagined that at all."

She was also asked why her boyfriend, dubstep producer Skrillex, doesn't feature on her forthcoming new record and admitted that they were both too busy with their own careers to find adequate studio time:

"I've learned a lot from him and he's absolutely an incredible producer, one of the best producers I've ever come across. I definitely wanted him to work with this record, and… there's no doubt that Sonny and I will work together, when we're both a little bit less busy -- because at the moment, his career is crazy."
