Daft Punk don't understand the hype surrounding their musical return

French electro duo Daft Punk have admitted that the popularity surrounding their return to music has overwhelmed them because they don't understand why people are so "crazy" about what they're doing.

The 'Get Lucky' hitmakers are gearing up to release their new album, 'Random Access Memories', and the record's lead single shot straight into No.1 in countries across the globe. During an interview with DazedDigital.com, member Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo confessed that the public's excitement over the project has blown him away:

"Right now my brain is shutting everything down, making me pretend that everything is normal. It still amazes me that everyone is so crazy about what we are doing. I'm like, either I am crazy or everybody's crazy. Maybe I am just dreaming but people seem to really freak out at what we are doing. I don't know why!"

Thomas Bangalter added: "The music itself is exactly what we wanted it to be. We have no anxiety about that. Sharing it with the world is something different. It's a big question mark. There's a certain amount of excitement and madness that enters the equation."

One Direction have thanked their fans in Amsterdam for embracing their orange colour-themed concert.

The British hitmakers - comprising Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne - recently informed fans that there would be a "strict dress code" of the bright hue at last night's show (May 3rd) for their concert at the Ziggo arena.

After the sold-out tour date, the boys took to Twitter to thank their fans for being ever-faithful.

Horan wrote on the social networking site: "Amsterdam u were unbelieveable tonight! Never heard noise like it ! And also #weturnedziggoorange ! Orange madness."

The Irish charmer added: "im 1000 percent sure we have the best fans in the world...the lengths you go to for us is incredible..we love u soo much ...no lies or poo (sic)."

Styles was also overwhelmed with the effort from One Direction's loyal fanbase.

He wrote: "Amsterdam... You were incredible. Thank you so much for having us!! You turned Orange. So did we (sic)," with an accompanying picture of the crowd taken from the stage.

Payne also thanked the band's followers after writing earlier in the day: "Happy orange day people of Amsterdam can't wait to see the crowd tonight see who got the memo aha (sic)."

Back in April, it was revealed that singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran had won MTV's 'March Madness' contest and he has finally been given his "imaginative" trophy.

The competition pulled in an incredible 40 million votes for 64 bands over 26 days, and saw Sheeran go head-to-head with 30 Seconds To Mars for the title, which he won by more than 63 percent.

Writing on his official Twitter page today (May 2), the 'Lego House' hitmaker explained that he was sent the prize and seemed particularly entertained by it as he shared a photograph (shown below) of the statue, which he also described as a "wedge":

"Just got given my MTV march madness trophy. It's wedge. Thank you to everyone that voted and @mtvnews for the imaginative trophy."

Sheeran's currently touring America with Taylor Swift and his next concert with the country-pop beauty will be on May 4 in Detroit.

YES SIR BOSS -‘MRS #1’ FEAT. JOSS STONE OUT 15 APRIL 2013 ON STONE’D RECORDS

On April 15th Yes Sir Boss release ‘Mrs #1’ featuring label owner Joss Stone, the band’s second single taken from debut album DesperationState (released October 2012). Showcasing a more accessible pop sound, ‘Mrs #1’ combines spacious instrumentation with catchy horn melodies and a driving funk bass line, all of which sit smoothly underneath the meeting of front man Matt Sellors’ husky vocals and Stone’s soulful brilliance as the two sing of trying too hard in love.

After jamming the song with Joss for the first time Matt acknowledged “I had never intended for the song to be a duet but the addition of female vocals seemed to add clarity to the lyrics, and in a way, make the song complete.” One of Joss’s favourite tracks from the album, she happily admitted “I love the song, it sounded great when we sung it together so we recorded it – simple as that!”

Yes Sir Boss’s diverse up-tempo sound takes the rhythmic foundations of ska and funk, and injects them with bluesy guitar riffs, spaghetti-western tinged jazz horns and pop-infused vocal melodies to create an irresistibly catchy mix with more than enough bite to cater to fans of all genres.

Yes Sir Boss began reaching a wider audience in 2011 after being asked to perform live sessions for BBC Radio London and Rob Da Bank’s Radio 1 show. Both remarked on the brewing talent the band conveyed with BBC London stating after the session “They totally rock out with the thrust power of Queens of the Stone Age.”

In 2012 the band totalled 150 live shows across the UK & Europe, including support on Joss Stone’s European ‘Soul Sessions 2’ tour and a 25 date UK album tour in October, where the band sold-out their album launch party at Camden’s Jazz Cafe for debut Desperation State produced by Steve Greenwell (Arrested Development & Joss Stone). Receiving strong online support, the album helped propel YSB further into Europe where in January this year they were invited to appear alongside life-long inspiration Madness at the illustrious Midem Music Conference in Cannes. The band are currently on a headline tour of Germany & Switzerland.

Yes Sir Boss have yet another busy year ahead of them, with a ‘Mrs #1’ UK tour in April, a packed summer of festival slots around Europe and preparations for the second album toward the end of 2013.

Madness to bid farewell to BBC Television Centre with live show

British band Madness are set to perform a special hour-long concert tonight (March 22) at the BBC to mark the closure of Television Centre.

They are set to perform from the car park outside of the iconic building, which has housed the company for 53 years, and it will be broadcast on BBC 4 from 7.30pm.

Richard Klein, controller of BBC 4, said that there isn't a better band to celebrate the end of such an important era: "I can think of no better band than Madness to help celebrate a golden age of television coming out of the BBC's Television Centre, and I am really pleased that one of Britain's finest groups has agreed to come along and help BBC4 celebrate in fine style. Madness, as always, are one step beyond!"

The band also spoke about the impending concert, adding: "We've played at some exciting places in London lately but the closing of BBC TV Centre. Well, that is close to our hearts, as a band we grew up there, those walls have plenty of Madness tales to tell, a sad day, the end of an era, oh, but what a celebration! We're honoured to be the band the Beeb have chosen for this fond farewell.”

Muse have cancelled three shows after frontman Matt Bellamy broke his foot.

The British trio are currently touring Europe with their renowned live show but they have now pulled shows planned in Oslo, Stockholm and Malmo.

They are due to resume their jaunt on December 10 in Finland.

A statement on the cancellation reads: "We're very sorry to have to announce that Muse's forthcoming shows in Oslo, Stockholm and Malmo have been cancelled as Matt has broken two bones in his foot. The band have therefore made the difficult decision to cancel these gigs as they feel that they will not be able to do justice to their live show and the fans who have bought tickets with Matt performing on crutches. Muse would like to apologise to all their fans who have tickets to these shows. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase."

The statement continues: "Matt's progress will be monitored over the next few days, but the remaining dates on the tour are still scheduled to go ahead as planned. As soon as we have any news it will be posted on the Muse website, Facebook and Twitter accounts."

Drummer Dom Howard, whose band release new album, 'The 2nd Law,' tomorrow, told The Observer that he and frontman Matt Bellamy gave the 33-year-old an ultimatum after realising how his habit had a negative impact on the band:

"For some reason he could still play the bass, even though he was s**tfaced. He was drinking on stage. I started counting how many drinks he was having during the set and I could see him getting more and more glazed. By the point we came off stage, he'd be f**ked. It just got too weird."

When asked if they tried to get Wolstenholme, who has been sober since 2009, to seek help, Howard replied:

"Yeah, a few times. Chris now says things like, 'I can't believe they put up with me for ten years'. Which is true. I can't believe we did. But we did. I've always believed in band integrity and sticking together."

'Madness' is the latest song to appear from the record, with the likes of London 2012 song 'Survival' previously emerging.

Muse say their new album is the 'most weird and diverse' yet

British rock trio Muse have opened up about their brand new record, 'The 2nd Law', and described it as their most bizarre body of work to date.

They recently shared the new single from the album, named 'Madness', and drummer Dom Howard spoke to XFM's Mary Anne Hobbs about the music that features on the album:

"It's all really really different, it's definitely some of the most weird and diverse music we've ever made and put on an album together. It's an interesting album, I love it."

"It's one of those albums you put on and every track's a surprise so it keeps you interested and makes you want to listen to every track again."

Referring specifically to the lead single, 'Madness', Howard added: "It's like a very minimal, electronic, almost like... a ballad. It's something very, very different for us and I guess it builds - like most of our songs really."

"It just felt like something very fresh for us, felt like something we'd never done before so that's why we thought it would be a good idea to put that out."
