The British star appears on the X Factor USA judge's forthcoming new album 'DEMI' in the shape of the collaboration 'Really Don't Care'.

Speaking to MTV, Lloyd said that she is a genuine fan of Lovato and that she was champing at the bit to put her spin on the track. She said:

"First of all, I love the song. Like, I really love the song. And I was very excited to put my kind of twist on it. I have 'Skyscraper' and I am constantly listening to it, and I can gladly say that it makes me tear up a little bit."

The 'Sticks & Stones' star continued: "I mean, that girl can really sing, and it's so different. That's the thing, nowadays it's so important to be able to be recognised and to be on the radio and for people to know automatically it's you. And Demi has that and that's something I really look up to."

Laura Marling has premiered her new video.

The talented singer-songwriter is releasing the track 'Master Hunter' as the first single from her new album 'Once I Was An Eagle', which is slated for a May 27 release.

The video for the track sees Marling play guitar on a chair whilst a man and a woman dance in front of her.

The clip ends with the female dancing by herself before the camera reveals that the man is left motionless on the floor.

As previously reported, Marling recently slammed TV talent shows, saying: "They are just horrible. It's an awful part of our society. It's teaching the wrong thing, I think, teaching that you want fame."

Iconic singer Cher has admitted that she doesn't enjoy the sound of her own voice so wouldn't consider herself to be a Cher fan.

The hitmaker, who has enjoyed success all over the globe with her well-loved songs, told Access Hollywood that she would rather endure the sound of nails on a chalkboard than listen to herself singing:

"I'm not a Cher fan. Hearing my voice, I would just rather put my fingers on a chalkboard."

"If I was going to listen to music, I certainly wouldn't put one of my CDs on and go, 'Oh, this rocks'."

Back in April, the 'Believe' star confirmed that she has finally finished working on her forthcoming album, which will be her 25th full-length release, and teased that it features a collaboration with Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears.

Mariah Carey: 'I feel very under pressure to finish recording my new album'

Vocal superstar Mariah Carey has admitted that her forthcoming new album is starting to stress her out because it is meant to be finished "earlier than mid-summer".

During an interview with Ryan Seacrest, she explained that the supposed date of completion is very soon and the pressure is building because she isn't sure if the record will be done by then:

"Probably we're talking about earlier than mid-summer, which is a lot of pressure on me because I want these last few records to be just as good as the first records I started."

Yesterday (May 6), the hitmaker unveiled her new single '#Beautiful', which is a collaboration with Miguel, and she added that working with him felt very natural as they were very 'in tune' with each other in the studio:

"We got together, he had starting writing this song with just the guitar riff. And I have to say this about him as a collaborator, sometimes when you haven't worked with somebody you don't know really what they do in the studio... And if they have the same kind of love for music that I have... And he's the truth. We just wanted to do something different that has a texture that feels fresh."

The official music video for '#Beautiful' will premiere tomorrow during 'American Idol'.

Blur have suggested that they might record a new album imminently.

The British group haven't released a full record since 2003's 'Think Tank', which topped the UK chart.

The reformed band played at Hong Kong's AsiaWorld-Expo event last night (May 6) and singer Damon Albarn suggested that a new album could be in the offing. He said on stage:

"So we have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record."

Blur have a batch of live dates lined up for later this year, with the closest to home being a show at Dublin's Irish Museum of Modern Art on August 1.

Other dates booked include two shows at Spain's Primavera festival later this month.

Ed Sheeran has claimed that One Direction have completed work on their new album.

The boyband only released their last record 'Take Me Home' in November but the 'A Team' star told MTV that the lads have finished their next effort.

Sheeran said that unlike previously, he hasn't contributed any songs to One Direction's forthcoming campaign - because he wants to pen more songs for himself. He said:

"I haven't done any songs on this one; I've actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment, because I want to make my album. I was approached, and it wasn't so much a 'No', it was just a 'I want to write tunes for myself at the moment'."

The singer-songwriter added: "Once my album's done, then we'll see. But their album is already finished."

However, a spokesperson from label Columbia denied that the next One Direction record was complete, saying that "the guys are still very much working on their new album".

The rep also dismissed the idea that there will be a soundtrack released alongside the band's upcoming movie This Is Us.

Kylie Minogue has revealed that she will experiment on her next album.

The Australian singer is working on what will be her 12th studio album at the moment as she follows up 2010's 'Aphrodite'.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Minogue revealed that she has been working with Pharrell Williams, Darkchild and Stargate on new tunes.

She also suggested that the record will see her sound deviate from the norm. The singer said:

"It's bringing out something different in me, which is cool. I need to know what it is to do something different – different style of delivery, different beats, different subject matter. I think that I am a natural chameleon, so that floats my boat."

Minogue added: "[It] will maintain the DNA of what a Kylie track is, just because I'm on it. I like to try to move the goalpost and experiment with different sounds. I can't tell you exactly what it is. I couldn't really describe it yet.
Emeli Sandé reflects on breaking Beatles chart record

Emeli Sandé has revealed her delight at breaking a long-standing UK chart record held by the Beatles.

The singer's debut album 'Our Version of Events' managed its 63rd consecutive week in the UK top ten recently - beating the 62 week stay of Beatles' 1963 effort 'Please Please Me'.

Speaking to Music Week, the Scottish star expressed her surprise at the landmark, saying:

"I'm so pleased. It's something I never expected to happen."

She continued: "The fact so many people connected to it and kept the album in the Top 10 is remarkable. To even be spoken of in the same sentence as The Beatles is thrilling. My ambition at the beginning was I really hoped I could get in the top five. To break this record is just beyond anything."

Virgin Records A&R director Glyn Aikins meanwhile also told Music Week that Sandé could release a follow-up album next year. He said:

"She's got to take some time to organise her thoughts and start writing songs for her next record. It may happen quickly. It may take some time, but I think she would want another album to come out perhaps next year. She's very diligent and has a very solid work ethic. She's very serious about what she does, which is a joy."
