(June 17, 2013 - New York, NY)  Nashville-based, high-octane, guitar-driven band MONA has completed its second album, titled TORCHES & PITCHFORKS, scheduled for July 23rd release on Mercury Records.  The first advance single, "Goons (Baby I Need it All)" paraphrases Frank Sinatra's infamous quote, "Rock n' Roll smells phony and false.  It is sung, played, and written for the most part by cretinous goons," which he proclaimed during a 1958 Congressional Hearing on the correlation between teenage behavior and rock and roll music. 

The release of TORCHES & PITCHFORKS coincides with Mona's next headline tour, opening July 9th at the Basement in Columbus, OH, and moving through July 29th at the Milestone in Charlotte, NC.  Two nights later, Mona begins a six-show swing in support of Silversun Pickups, July 31st through August 8th.  Mona's itinerary concludes with their second annual Nashville homecoming gig at the Basement club, August 10th.  (Please see tour dates below.)

TORCHES & PITCHFORKS was self-produced by the band at their basement studio in Nashville, and was mixed by Mark Needham (whose credits include the Killers, Imagine Dragons, and the 1979).  The new album follows up Mona's self-titled debut, MONA, on Mercury (which was also self-produced in their basement), released February 2012.  The debut turned out several single tracks in the U.S. and UK, among them "Listen To Your Love," "Lean Into the Fall," and "Trouble On the Way."

Mona supported their debut album release with a performance of "Lean Into the Fall" on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the band's U.S. television debut.  The show came during their first headlining North American tour as a Mercury records group.  Mona followed up with three sold-out weeks of U.S. dates with fellow Mercury artist Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds in March-April, which concluded at the Coachella Festival in Indio, California.

The roots of Mona - Nick Brown (lead vocals, guitar, chief songwriter), Jordan Young (guitar), Zach Lindsey (bass), and Vince Gard (drums) - are in Midwestern Dayton, Ohio, where Nick and Vince got their first taste of the stage at a Pentecostal church that banned secular music.  Relocating to Nashville, they hooked up with Kentucky natives Zach and Jordan, and soon began writing and recording in the garage of their Nashville home.

Mona's style is a nod to Elvis Presley's swagger, Johnny Cash's grit, and James Dean's cool, but it's impossible to deny their unbridled talent and ability to write stadium bound rock songs.  "At the end of the day, we're just four dudes making some noise in a garage and just having fun."

The grand ceremony, which took place at the California theme park, was attended by family and friends as the loved-up pair celebrated their partnership.

Vocal star Carey tweeted about the day as it went by, at one point saying:

"On our way to renew our vows. I love you @NickCannon shut down Disneyland."

The event took place on the couple's fifth wedding anniversary and also on the birthday of their twins Monroe and Moroccan, who were born in 2011.

Last year Carey and Cannon renewed their vows at the top of the Eiffel Tower in France.

The pair - who have been married since 2008 - always make sure they treat each other on the February 14 occasion.

Speaking to Extra TV, Cannon revealed: “We do something big every year, I'm plotting and planning right now - I've got to make sure I do something big."

Cannon and Carey have 21-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe together, and 32-year-old Cannon insists the pair are "stern" parents.

He explained to People: “My kids — it’s a blessing — they’re extremely disciplined. They try [misbehaving] with other people because everyone gives them so much attention, but when it comes to my wife and I, we only have to say something once. We ask them to have a seat, they sit down, cross their legs and put their hands in their lap. I hope it lasts!”

He added: “I’ve got the loudest voice in the house, so they’ve always responded to that ever since they were newborns. They hear my voice and they freeze.”

In an interview with In Touch, the songstress explained that her career had always been her priority until she began dating the TV host, who changed her perspective on life:

"I never thought I'd experience motherhood. My career was my life. When you find the right person, you (want to) go through with it."

Speaking about her children, twin babies Moroccan and Monroe, Carey revealed they're both developing strong personalities:

"He's my little buddy. We watch movies together. He can be a little more aggressive, but not in a bad way – he'll give his sister a little tap when she's trying to give him a hug. Monroe is just a sweetie. I'm so in love. Every moment is just incredible."

The international superstar's partner Nick Cannon gave a candid interview on the Howard Stern radio show on Tuesday (December 11) where he shared some intimate details of the couple's private life.

When asked by Stern if the pair "make love" to Carey's famous ballads, Cannon replied: "Absolutely. You know how it goes. Sometimes there's special nights when you turn the music on."

Carey and Cannon - who have twins Monroe and Moroccan together - tied the knot in the Bahamas in 2008. Their nuptials came after a whirlwind six-week romance, and Cannon revealed that the pair waited until their wedding night before becoming intimate.

He explained: "I knew what her values were," before adding: "It was Mariah Carey. If Mariah Carey gave a bad b******, I'm still going in. Either way she's still one of the most beautiful women on the planet."

Carey and Minaj joined the coveted reality show's judging panel this year alongside Keith Urban and returning mentor Randy Jackson.

Despite the show's new format being in its infancy, it has been rocked by reports of a feud between its new female judges.

Carey's husband Cannon thinks the pair should collaborate to finally put an end to their differences.

He told E! News: "They could definitely do that. Why not? People love that stuff. I'm pretty sure they could figure that out."

Cannon is looking forward to the season premiere in January and hopes that viewers see a different side to his wife - who is largely labelled one of music's biggest divas.

He gushed: "I think it's all about the opportunity for people to see Mariah for who she really is. You'll get to see how intelligent she is… how witty, and her great sense of humour. Also, her nurturing spirit and wanting to help all these young people accomplish their dreams."

Her husband, Nick Cannon, told People magazine that their children know how to recognise modern appliances and show an active interest in grabbing his expensive gadgets when he leaves them laying around the house:

"My son was playing with my laptop and he broke it. My kids are already attracted to technology. They want to touch it; they're always reaching for it."

"They love my iPad. That's their generation; they love computers. So it'll be important as they grow older to know what they're doing online, to keep them safe."

"I want my kids to understand that every child isn't as fortunate as they are. I want [them] to grow up helping others. I was raised by my grandmother. We were low-income, but she was always taking in foster kids. She would help anyone, and it was a good lesson for me growing up."

The singer has released the song as she looks to make an impact on the music industry once again with her powerful vocals.

She has teamed up with Rick Ross and Meek Mill for the song, which is expected to feature on the singer's forthcoming new album.

The track's accompanying video, which is directed by Carey's husband Nick Cannon, enjoys a boxing theme, with the singer at one point acting as a ring assistant.

Carey also is seen performing in the ring with a drop down microphone.

The singing star is due to release the song 'Triumphant (Get 'Em)' soon and Carey has been busy recording the track's accompanying video.

Carey uploaded a photo of herself on Twitter on a couch with her legs in the air, along with the words:

"On the set of the TRIUMPHANT (Get 'Em) video shoot. Get ready for a triumphant week, we have surprises every day!"

As previously reported, Mariah Carey has recently signed up to become a judge on American Idol following the exits of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

Cannon had twins with wife Mariah Carey back in 2011 and the pair have enjoyed seeing their kids develop since they were born.

Speaking to People, Cannon said that he tries not to go a week without seeing his children. He said:

"I try to not go seven days without seeing them. I'll be with them this weekend."

Cannon meanwhile opened up on the steps his kids are taking in their development, saying that they are learning to walk - albeit not very successfully. He said:

"They are taking steps and figuring it out, but I wouldn't say they are walking yet. I thought walking was, like, one day you stand and then you just start walking. I didn't know it was a process. There's a lot of falling. They take a few steps and then fall and go right back to crawling."

Recently, the 'Hero' sensation told U.S. show Extra that she wasn't interested in the televised talent show and admitted that she didn't care who had signed up as judges:

"You think I focus on that stuff? Have we met? I love (Spears), honestly. I think she's a very nice person, but I don't care who's going on that show - as long as it's not me."

Earlier today (May 16), Carey tweeted a public message to both Simon Cowell and new panelist Britney Spears to clear up the speculation, writing:

"@BritneySpears & @SimonCowell of course I luv+care about you dahhlings, congrats! U never know what's true or gossip, I was joking around! xo"
