Renowned folk musician Steve Bonham starts his Get Your Boots On Tour - May 25th 2013

Following the well-received launch of Steve Bonham’s single Steady at Bellingham’s Mini BAA festival, renowned folk singer Steve is getting his boots on ready for a musical odyssey along Hadrian’s Wall. Steve’s unique take on the tradition of travelling musicians will see him walk from gig to gig along the 85 miles of the spectacular Hadrian’s Wall Path.

The tour kicks off at Ireby Music Festival on Saturday 25th May followed by the first leg of the walk from Cumbria arriving at Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland on June 1st. Steve will then take the tour to Derby and Southwell Folk Festival before returning north for a grand finale at the Folkalpoint festival at The Sage Gateshead on November 30th 2013.

The tour has been inspired by Steve’s long term musical buddy Tim, who developed the neurological condition ataxia which curtailed his ability to perform. Steve wrote and recorded the song Steady, which features Stephen Doherty’s hauntingly beautiful whistle-playing, to raise awareness of ataxia and to support the charity Ataxia UK’s 2020 campaign to find a cure.

Ataxia is a progressive neurological disorder for which there is no cure. It affects motor co-ordination, walking, vision and speech. There are 10,000 adults with the condition in the UK and it can affect any age group including children. Ataxia UK supports people affected by the condition as well as funding vital research into finding a cure. www.ataxia.org.uk/

Steve Bonham says “I want to do something about this ataxia thing and I want to make more people aware of it - so people don’t think those affected are drunk or stupid. I want people to see beyond the stumble and the uncertainty to the still strong person within. And I want to raise some dosh so that good research by clever people can go on.”

Steve will be show casing Steady along with songs from his 2012 critically acclaimed album ‘The Moon’s High Tide’ and some new pieces. He will be joined by the “Bishop” (keyboards, tuba and percussion) and special guests to create some exhilarating performances of contemporary folk music. Steve is a folk veteran and has collaborated with folk royalty such as ex-Saw Doctor Pearce Doherty, Jimmy Higgins (Irish band Altan) and Fairport Convention’s legendary Dave Pegg.

Steady is now available for free download with donations to Ataxia UK. http://www.stevebonham.net/steady or to view http://youtu.be/eHg-x4ubk3g

Olly Murs on US success: "I don't ever expect to reach the heights of One Direction"

Olly Murs has admitted that he'll probably never be able to reach the levels of fame One Direction have enjoyed in the US.

The boyband took North America by storm last year, with their arrival in the country likened to the Beatles.

Murs supported the 'Kiss You' stars on some of their American dates and it helped the fellow Brit to make inroads into a US career.

Speaking to the Mirror, the 'Army of Two' star admitted that he won't get as big as One Direction in the US - but he'll make a good fist of it. He said:

"In the UK, people don’t give X Factor contestants that much credit. Over in the States, they're listening to my music instead of saying 'Oh, he's from the X Factor...whatever'. I don't get the credit I deserve."

He continued: "So it's a really good thing for me. I'm able to come over here and be an artist – people are judging me on my abilities and my talent for my music. I don't ever expect to reach the heights of One Direction over here, but I believe I can be a success. And so far it's going well. It's been brilliant."

Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards owes library fines dating back some 50 years.

The 69-year-old icon told The Sun that he used to frequent his local library in Dartford many years ago.

However, the paper says he owes the book lending service around £20,000 after not paying back old fines.

Speaking about the Kent library, Richards said:

"It was a place where you get a hint there was a place called civilisation."

However, he added: "I still owe fines from about 50 years ago."

The Rolling Stones are currently on their 50 And Counting tour in North America, which will later take them to the UK for shows at the Glastonbury Festival and London's Hyde Park.

Katie Waissel pens emotional song about marriage breakdown: 'I felt tricked, conned and stupid'

Former 'X Factor' finalist Katie Waissel has opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to male model Brad Alphonso, which ended in divorce after just 2 months, and revealed that the only way to cope with it was to write a song about it.

The 27-year-old beauty penned a track entitled 'I'm Fine' and has now released it onto the Internet for her fans to check out and told the Mail Online that it was a cathartic experience: "I wrote this song because I quite simply didn't know how to express myself in any other way. It was the easiest way to get my emotions out at what has become an absolutely heartbreaking time."

"What is amazing is that this has been a total release for me emotionally. This is how a song should be written. I quite simply went to see my manager Mark and my old engineer James at the Sanctum and ended up at a piano with a microphone where it all came out."

Waissel also gave an exclusive interview to Now magazine, in which she confessed that losing the man she loved almost broke her: "It began to sink in that we were now responsible for each other. The financial situation between us caused a lot of stress too. It was hard for him that I had more money, but paying for things didn't bother me."

"I was humiliated. I'd completely lost the man I loved. I feel tricked, conned and stupid. That's why I've been hiding away - I don't want to face it at the moment. I went through so much crap with The X Factor - it sucked the life out of me. I finally thought i had a clean slate in America. Then this happened. I keep thinking, 'What's wrong with me?'"

Ed Sheeran: 'Taylor Swift and I have become very close friends on tour'

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has revealed that despite the fact Taylor Swift's 'Red' tour spans six months he hasn't yet felt lonely because the pair have developed a close bond.

Speaking to E! News about the north American jaunt, the 'Little Bird' hitmaker explained that he spends most of his downtime with Swift and they get along really well so their relationship has made the run of dates very enjoyable:

"I go there, hang out with Taylor, I play a show, do my duet with her, then I hang out a bit more and then I go. So, really, it's a nice tour. Six months is a long time to go on tour and leave your family and friends and if you haven't got a friend on the road it can get quite lonely."

Sheeran also recently told Parade.com that performing to arenas full of people each night is nothing short of a dream come true: "I'm loving the 'Red Tour'. It's fun. Singer/songwriters always say they prefer smaller venues, but there's nothing like playing to 15,000 people a night and having them scream lyrics that you've written back to you."

Ke$ha has revealed her excitement for her impending tour with Pitbull.

The flamboyant singer announced last month that she would be touring North America alongside the 'Give Me Everything' star from May to June.

Speaking to MTV, Ke$ha said the idea of a joint tour came about whist they were drinking. The 'Tik Tok' singer said:

"One day, [Pitbull and I] were backstage, drinking tequila, kind of f***ing around, and we're talking hypotheticals 'We should go on tour together; I'll sing a song in Spanish, how about that?' And he said 'Okay'. And then, like a month later, it happened in real life...so, how's it going to work? I have no f***ing idea! But is it going to be fun? Yeah. F*** yeah."

The 'Warrior' maestro added that she grew to learn that she and Pitbull were actually quite similar - meaning that a tour made even more sense. She said:

"I think that the reason I decided to tour with Pitbull is because we've worked together, and the first time we met, we had a very cool thing happening, but I was like 'Aw, I'll never see him again.' And then I kept on seeing him! And the more we saw each other, I realised that actually, we're incredibly similar; he just likes to have a good time and he's a super positive person, and I'm a really positive person who likes to get weird and wild."

Biffy Clyro have been forced to cancel a batch of North American dates due to a "serious" respiratory issue affecting singer Simon Neil.

The band have pulled forthcoming support slots with Muse in the US and Canada as well as an appearance at the Coachella Festival.

In a statement, their label said that Neil had been struggling with the problem in their last couple of concerts and that the dates have been shelved to preserve his long-term health. They said:

"Biffy Clyro have today been forced to cut short their North American tour and return to the UK immediately; Simon Neil has been struggling with a serious respiratory problem on the shows, including two nights supporting Muse at Madison Square Garden on Monday and Tuesday of this week, and was advised by doctors that he was endangering his long term health if he chose to continue performing on this run. Thus, further dates with Muse across the US and Canada, plus a second weekend performance at the Coachella Festival this coming Saturday, have now been cancelled."

The statement continued: "The band wish to express how sorry they are that they aren't able to carry out the full run of shows, and hope to confirm a new run of North American shows shortly. All UK and European dates this Summer should, however, remain unaffected."

The Rolling Stones have suggested that they might perform some low-key warm-up shows in the UK this summer.

The veteran band recently confirmed plans to tour North America in May and June before hitting London's Hyde Park on July 6.

The UK date comes after a headline slot at the famous Glastonbury Festival in June.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, guitarist Keith Richards revealed that they might surprise fans by playing an intimate warm-up show in London. He said:

"We usually do play [play small venues] at the beginning of tours here and there throwing a club thing in to touch base with everybody really and with ourselves I guess. Hopefully that'll maybe happen while we're in London.
The country-pop star is kicking off her massive North American tour tonight (March 13) in promotion of her 2012 album 'Red'.

Speaking to MTV, the '22' singer revealed that she is gunning for a more "mature" feel to her stage show, telling fans to "expect the unexpected". She said:

"I think that the visuals kind of portrayed on this tour will be, I guess, more grown-up and a little more mature than things we've done in the past. And I think on my previous albums and my previous tours I've really liked to operate in the element of fantasy and I think that this tour will incorporate a little more reality into the visuals, which is nice."

Swift added: "I think from the Red Tour fans can expect the unexpected. I think I really like the element of surprise and I love incorporating that into the shows. I like for these tours to be completely different from every single one we've done."
