Electro Trio U.A. To Release New Single ‘Addict’

Starting out back in 2012, the electro-dance group, formed of siblings Ash, Vicky and Kristian Owen, have generated a considerable buzz in such a short space of time. Created from the breakup of former band Kiddo 360 (UK Live & Unsigned winners 2008), U.A. have quickly formulated their own distinct sound. From building a dedicated fan base in their hometown of Swansea, the band has since set up base in East London and gone on to play sold out shows and gain followers across the globe. This brought the band to the attentions of esteemed sound engineer Wes Maebe (Ellie Goudling, Beverly Knight) and led him to mastering new single ‘Addict’. Impressed after seeing the band’s stripped down live set, Maebe described the band’s sound as ‘fresh’ and ‘killer’. The group also earnt a collaboration with EDM star Shuval Fixer on the track ‘Not Alone’, released through Base Recordings.

Now set to release their infectious single ‘Addict’ the group has highlighted how far they have come. With melodic hooks aplenty, powerful vocals and polished beats, the track is a quintessential club banger. Celebrating their first official release, the track is a step up for the group and marks them as ones to watch. The party anthem is complete with an accompanying video from Giles Palmer Films, which features models from Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model.

‘Addict’ is set for release on July 29th. Watch the video here: http://youtu.be/myryq_8jnQw

So Solid Crew (for the last time EVER) Announce October O2 Arena Show & Rescheduled Regional Dates

Following their huge headline reunion show at the Indigo2 which sold out almost instantly, So Solid Crew have announced that they’re back for the last time EVER for an October 2013 date at the O2 Arena in London on 5th October 2013, as well as revealing the new regional dates for their rescheduled April tour, the group’s first in 10 years.

With lead members of So Solid Crew reunited and performing on the tour, support comes from a very special UK all-star underbill to be announced in the near future that looks set to make this an unmissable event for any urban music fan.

Hailed as the Kings and Queen of UK garage/hip hop and widely credited with paving the way as pioneers for today’s biggest hip hop crossover and breakthrough stars, So Solid’s first album ‘They Don't Know’ was released in October 2001, going platinum in its first week of sales and making So Solid the only platinum selling urban act in the UK to this date. Combined, So Solid Crew have sold over 1 million units.

The collective from South London, whose hits include the now legendary #1 single ‘21 Seconds’, won ‘Best British Video’ 2002 at the BRIT Awards and went on to demolish every award show they were nominated in, including the MOBOS, Smash Hits and the PRS Awards.

Coming from humble beginnings performing two hour long freestyle sessions on pirate radio stations Supreme and Delight FM, expect a slick, no nonsense performance from these UK veterans. Returning to the live circuit once more the ‘Crew breach the ‘Broken Silence’ to give So Solid fans what they’ve been craving for the last decade.

Manic Street Preachers admit "the single is no more"

Manic Street Preachers have acknowledged the dramatic change in the music industry since launching their own career and admit that singles are a thing of the past.

The band, who recently announced details of a special one-off gig that will see them perform all of their hit singles, explained to the NME that having huge chart success - especially if the band is guitar based - is "probably at an end":

"It's something we feel is probably over, the idea of having massive hit singles- unless something dramatically changes in life, it's probably at an end. The single is no more, as such, from what we grew up with anyway, let's face it, it's a different dimension."

"There are no guitar bands in the charts really, if you look at the top 40. You've got to come to terms with that at some point."

Tickets for the Manics' exclusive 38-song performance at London's O2 Arena are now available and you can watch their video for 'Postcards From A Young Man' here:
