Adam Lambert fans reach million dollar charity milestone

Funds raised by the recent Adam Lambert Peace Pendant have helped the star's legion of fans reach a $1 million target for various charities over the course of the last two years, according to the pendant collaborator, Tim Foster from Pennyroyal.

The Peace Pendant raised $40,000 for The Trevor Project, the non-profit organisation Lambert chose to benefit from the design. The Trevor Project aims to prevent suicide amongst the gay and lesbian youth community. It was the first charity to offer a nationwide, 24/7 crisis and suicide helpline for the LGBTQ group in America. Other charities which have benefited from Lambert's endorsement include Music Cares and Charity Water.

Lambert designed the pendant in collaboration with Pennyroyal Studios, and the $40,000 was raised in less than two months.

Tim Foster from Pennyroyal said that generous Lambert fans even anonymously gave approximately 200 pendants to other fans who couldn't afford them.

Foster said: "I thought it was just like a really amazing gesture. Of all the designs I've released I think this has been the most rewarding."

Foster has been inspired to hold a competition based on the success of the pendant. He will pick one name from his pendant email list and fly to that person's house and take them and five friends to dinner in November in order to present a special surprise prize.

Jared Leto's tribute to Kurt Cobain

Hollywood actor turned frontman of rock band 30 Seconds To Mars, Jared Leto, recorded a special tribute which he has now released to mark the anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, which was on April 5.

Writing publicly on his official blog, the 'Kings And Queens' singer explained:

"I heard today was the day Kurt passed away 17 years ago. Can’t believe it’s been that long. So grateful for his contribution and inspiration. Not sure I’d be doing this if it weren’t for him. He gave us all permission to create no matter what our skill set and reminded me that dreams are possible. Thanks for that."

He continued:

"This made me recall a short piece of film I shot when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but thought I’d share it now…"

The video he shared with his fans sees him reveal an impressive character and musical portrayal of Cobain as he performs an uncanny rendition of Nirvana's 'Pennyroyal Tea'. Watch the tribute here:
