Professor Green is cautious of his mood swings and emotions

Professor Green has spoken out about his concern over the mood swings he sometimes suffers from.

The 'I Need You Tonight' superstar, real name Stephen Manderson, explained his family situation to the Daily Mirror newspaper and admitted that the tragic events he has experienced often cause him to think about his own stability:

"He (Manderson's father) was one of three brothers who committed suicide. That's not normal. I just have to be careful of myself. I don't want to know what brought my dad to that place. I am up and down, but I have awareness which I doubt he ever had."

Although therapy hasn't necessarily been the best emotional outlet for the talented rapper, he revealed that songwriting can be incredibly cathartic:

"I tried talking to therapists but it didn't help me. I'm an idiot for that. But when I write things down it helps me make sense of it."

Professor Green's Twitter war with Amy Childs over date requests

Professor Green and Amy Childs, from The Only Way Is Essex, have spent the first half of this morning having a rather public argument on social networking site Twitter.

The 'Read All About It' rapper entered into a war of words with the reality television star because she had been asking him to take her out despite knowing that at the time he wasn't a single man. Green, real name Stephen Manderson, wrote:

"I'm mean, yet you, even though you knew i was with candy were DMing me saying i should still take you on a date? drop me out. My tolerance is non existent, start the year as you mean to go on."

The messages clearly touched a nerve as Childs retorted with "dnt wanna tread on anyone toes, didn't no you had a girlfriend at the time as you didn't say anything #banter", which triggered Green to respond by saying:

"So when I replied and said I was with candy and you said 'I still think you should take me out' you didn't realise? Okay. Know yourself before you try blow someone up publicly, I'm not the guy."

Professor Green wants Florence and the Machine collaboration

UK rapper Professor Green has revealed that he would love to work with ethereal songstress Florence Welch.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, the 'Read All About It' hitmaker explained that although he missed out on a No.1 album to Florence and the Machine's 'Ceremonials', there are no bad feelings and he thinks they would make a great working partnership:

“Florence has got a great voice. I’d love to work with her. She’s got such a different outlook on music to anyone else out there. Together we’d be able to come up with something great.”

“I was pissed off when I realised my record was coming out on the same day as Florence, but I still bought her record. It was so tactical of her to release her album on Halloween, when there are so many ghosts and ghouls in her songs that her fans love. My favourite song of Florence is My Boy Builds Coffins. That’s amazing.”

Wretch 32 is refusing to take a day off at Christmas - stating that there is always "stuff to do".

The British rapper told the Daily Star that whilst his team may be taking time off over the festive period, he won't be - in an effort to become the best talent around. He said:

"If I was the biggest-selling artist in the world, I would still keep going. My manager and all my team are going on holiday for Christmas, but I'll still be working. There's stuff to do, always. In years to come, I don't want there to be any doubt about my talent, you know like when a boxer retires without fighting the No.1 contender. And that takes effort."

He added that fresh new hip hop is also keeping him on his feet.

"It just forces me to raise my bar higher all the time. At the same time, they can learn a lot from the likes of me and Professor Green, just as I learned from So Solid Crew and Dizzee Rascal."
