Geri Halliwell bursts into song at the pub

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has given an impromptu musical performance at a pub.

Strutting into a traditional public house, Halliwell reverted back to her Ginger Spice persona and belted out the chorus to the Spice Girl’s 1996 smash ‘Say You’ll Be There.’ Her unsuspecting audience carried on drinking as the playful Spice Girl carried on singing.

Geri later posted a video of the incident on YouTube (see video below).

At the end of her musical outburst the ex-pop star turned to the camera and declared: "I've done it. Melanie, it's your turn."

Spice Girl pal Mel B tweeted about the footage saying: “@GeriHalliwell just saw your video, only ginger spice could do this. And that’s why I love you!!! Xxxxx."

Halliwell’s prank appears to be the latest in a line of dares Mel C, Mel B, and Geri Halliwell have been exchanging over Twitter.

Freddie Mercury "smuggled Princess Diana into gay bar dressed in drag"

Queen mainman Freddie Mercury took Princess Diana into a gay bar dressed in drag, according to comedian Cleo Rocos.

In a serialisation of her new book The Power of Positive Drinking published in the Sunday Times, Rocos revealed that she, Mercury and Kenny Everett went pubbing with the late Princess in the 80s.

She said, however, that to get Diana into the South London pub took a bit of cunning disguise. Rocos said:

"Scrutinising her in the half light we decided that the most famous icon of the modern world might just - just - pass for a rather eccentrically dressed gay male model."

She continued: "The place was full. It took an absolute eon to edge our way to the bar, with person after person cheerfully greeting us. It was fabulously outrageous and so bizarrely exciting. Our hearts pounded with every new leather-clad hairy body that approached, but no one, absolutely no-one, recognised Diana.

"On we inched, through the leather throngs and thongs, until finally we reached the bar. We were nudging each other like naughty schoolchildren. Diana and Freddie were giggling, but she did order a white wine and a beer. Once the transaction was completed, we looked at one another, united in our triumphant quest. We did it!"

Gary Barlow for charity pub gig

Take That superstar Gary Barlow has announced that he is set to perform in what could be the smallest venue of his career next year to raise money for a worthy charity.

The singer-songwriter will play a live set in radio DJ Chris Evans' Mulberry Inn in Surrey, south England in aid of Children in Need. Proceeds from tickets sold will be handed over to the popular organisation and speaking on Evans' show this morning (November 2), Barlow explained:

"I've played many venues in my life - stadiums, arenas, theatres. I've always dreamed of playing this venue, which is the only reason I've agreed to it really other than the charity aspect."

Meanwhile, Barlow is also set to exercise his acting ability as he has signed up for a cameo in the BBC comedy series 'Miranda'.

A video of Niall Horan singing One Direction's hit song 'What Makes You Beautiful' at a pub lock-in has been posted online.

The lads have been enjoying a bit of downtime back home after coming off their first ever headline North America tour earlier this year.

They have played the occasional gig since - including a little show at the London 2012 Closing Ceremony - as they keep the momentum going.

A video has emerged online today (August 17) however showing Niall Horan flexing his musical muscles at a somewhat less glamorous venue than they are used to - a pub.

The Irishman is seen with friends as they all join in on a sing-song of One Direction's smash hit 'What Makes You Beautiful'.

'Smile' singer Lily Allen was left with a frown on her face last night after her husband prioritised the pub over being at home with her.

The talented songstress took to social networking site Twitter yesterday evening (April 12) and publicly asked Sam Cooper to "come home now please" because he'd been at the pub for too long:

"Dear husband, i hope you are enjoying the pub, can you come home now please, love lily."

After he failed to return, she added: "actually you can stay as long as you like but i will ignore you upon your return and you can forget about breakfast."

Later that evening, Allen returned to the site and posted: "fuck it's just dawned on me , maybe Samantha Brick is at the pub. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH, *jumps in car*"

Rihanna celebrates Thanksgiving in Dublin pub

Rihanna celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday in the Dublin pub, O'Donoghue's, which has notoriously been frequented by the likes of traditional Irish band, The Dubliners, and Bruce Springsteen.

RTE reported yesterday evening that the Barbadian beauty rented out the pub so that her crew from the Loud Tour could celebrate the holiday:

"She has reserved O'Donoghue's pub on Baggot Street for 100 guests. She's handpicked a special menu laid on by top French restaurant Hugo's, which is across the street from the traditional Irish pub. Rihanna and her crew have been on the road for a long time and they're all missing out on sharing the traditional Thanksgiving dinner with their families".

The little pub on Baggot Street is normally a popular place for after-work drinks so the arrival of the 'We Found Love' singer was met with great excitement for its locals.

The menu is said to have consisted of "clam chowder soup and a turkey dinner with mash, vegetables and cranberry sauce. There will be side dishes of macaroni and cheese, plus sweet potato mash with marshmallow sauce. For pudding there's apple cobbler with biscuit crumble".

Rihanna is playing Dublin's O2 venue tonight.
