ABBA star Agnetha Fältskog: 'We didn't sound or look very good live'

Agnetha Fältskog, ABBA's very own blonde bombshell, has revealed that looking back on her amazing career with the pop group she doesn't think they sounded great live and also thinks they could have looked better.

The songstress, who will release her first album of original solo material since 1987 next week (May 13), told the Daily Mail newspaper that she can see ways the band could have improved and believes they weren't great live performers:

"I didn't mind doing videos, even if they came very close with the camera. I can take that, but walking onstage in concert and singing live, that is a bit difficult. And I don't think we sounded or looked very good."

She added that their lack of dance training was an issue and they used to decide on choreography themselves before each show: "It was nice to look how we looked, but we had no professional dance help. We did it on feelings, so when we had our concerts it was different every night. Frida and I didn't talk beforehand about what we were going to do."

The hitmaker recently revealed that it's very unlikely ABBA will ever reform, telling reporters that they have "had a lot of offers but we have our own life now since many years back and we don’t understand why we should do it."

Led Zeppelin rejected Bill Clinton invite to reform for Hurricane Sandy gig

Led Zeppelin turned down a personal invite from Bill Clinton to reunite for a fundraising gig last year.

Organisers of a Hurricane Sandy concert on December 12 last year at Madison Square Garden have revealed that they went to some length to convince 70s rockers Zeppelin to reform once more.

However, the quartet - who played a one-off show in London in 2007 in tribute to late Atlantic Records man Ahmet Ertegun - flatly turned down the offer.

Robin Hood Foundation executive director David Saltzman told CBS News: "There were two bands that we were trying desperately to recruit, one was Rolling Stones, the other was Led Zeppelin. [Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein] had this great idea that we could enlist Bill Clinton to convince Led Zeppelin to reunite to perform at the 12-12-12 concert."

He continued: "So, Harvey and I got on a plane to fly down to Washington to meet with President Clinton who was going to be seeing the members of Led Zeppelin, who were being honoured at the Kennedy Center. And, you know, the president was terrific. He goes, 'I really want to do this. This would be a fantastic thing. I love Led Zeppelin'. And Bill Clinton himself asked Led Zeppelin to reunite. And they wouldn't do it."

Acts that did play the event included the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.

Blue's Duncan James: "I am who I am"

Blue's Duncan James doesn't think it's right that religion "should push you to live a lie".

The 35-year-old singer has previously revealed it was a "a massive relief" when he came out, but he still feels for people who find it difficult or challenging, because there isn't a widespread attitude of acceptance.

James - who is a Roman Catholic - says coming out as bisexual four years ago made him feel guilty, and he sometimes still struggles with those feelings now.

Speaking to British newspaper The Mirror, the popstar revealed he recently went to visit a priest after feeling overcome by his thoughts.

He said: “It was one of the hardest things I’ve done. I went to confession; I needed to confess. I wanted to get my confession out there and this to be a direct way to God – a way of saying: ‘Well this is how you made me’. I saw the priest and he broke the silence with: ‘So what is it you have to tell me?’

He continued: “It was a really hard thing for me to do, to explain I was gay and sleeping with guys. Obviously, this goes against everything the Catholic Church stands for. The priest was very quiet at the other end, and then finally spoke. I thought he was going to give me 50 Hail Marys and 100 Our Fathers but he didn’t. He was actually really cool with it. He gave me my act of contrition, and then gave me one thing to do – read the Gospel of Luke. He said it would help me.

“I got the message and felt relief after going back to church. I don’t go as often as I should, for which I do still feel guilty, but I do still have a massive faith. I just have to adapt it to who I am now. I know there are a lot of strict Catholics out there who will probably want to shoot me down with a gun now for saying that.

“But I don’t believe your religion should push you to live a lie. I am who I am.”

Victoria Beckham dampens Spice Girls Australia tour talk

Victoria Beckham has no plans to reform with the Spice Girls next year.

The 90s girl group are speculated to be lining up a tour of Australia in 2014 after a radio show claimed they would hit the country for a number of dates.

However, a spokesman has denied that Beckham will be performing live with the 'Wannabe' stars. He said:

"Victoria has no plans to tour with the Spice Girls in 2014. Her future focus concerns her family and fashion business."

However, this hasn't ruled out completely the chances of the Spice Girls touring next year as a quartet.

As previously reported, Beckham recently revealed an interview with Elle that she's worried she is the least popular member of the Spice Girls.

The fashionista said: "When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think, 'They're here to take David's picture'."

Carl Barat hints at Libertines reunion

Libertines man Carl Barat has suggested that the band could be set to reform in the near future.

The combustible band, lead by Barat and Pete Doherty, last reformed in 2010, playing the Reading and Leeds festivals.

However, speaking to NME, Barat hinted that another reunion could be on its way, adding that himself and Doherty regularly meet up. He said:

"I'm always out with Pete. Just sometimes I'm out with Pete in a visible place and other times not. We had a good chat and we're both getting on fine. We're both doing different things, [but] I'm sure at some point we'll pick up where we left off when it's needed."

During the summer last year, Barat posted a photo of the pair on Twitter, hinting that any suggestion of a frosty relationship between the duo was wide of the mark.
