The status means that she has become the wealthiest member of her famous family, even outstripping her superstar brother Michael Jackson, who never reached billionaire wealth during his lifetime.

Over her career, Jackson boasts 27 top ten hits and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. She also successfully forayed into acting with films such as ‘Why Did I Get Married’ and ‘The Nutty Professor’. Her touring income also makes up a large part of her net worth.

Variety Magazine reports that Jackson has amassed $458 million from touring, $260 million from her albums, $81 million from sponsorship deals and her acting roles have given her $304 million.

Along with such celebrities as Oprah and J.K. Rowling, Jackson joins her husband Wissam Al Man in the elite billionaire’s club.

The Cyril Jordan, Chris Wilson, George Alexander line-up that rocked the UK, Europe and the US from 1971 – 1980 are back in action. With the addition of Victor Penalosa on drums the band are set to return to British soil after more than 30 years to play a show at London’s Scala on the 2nd of July following a performance at Hard Rock Calling at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 30th June. The Flamin’ Groovies story goes all the way back to 1965 when the band began as the Chosen Few in their hometown of San Francisco, California.  After a name change and a self-released 10 inch album called “Sneakers”, which sold amazingly well, the band caught the attention of Columbia who signed them up and sent them into the studio with a big budget to record their first real album, “Supersnazz”, on the Epic label. Their next two albums were on Kama Sutra (home of their heroes, The Lovin' Spoonful): “Flamingo”, and the now revered classic “Teenage Head”.  Lead singer Roy Loney left the band right after that and lead guitarist Cyril Jordan moved the group to England with Chris Wilson (formerly of Loose Gravel) taking over as front man. 

They continued their style of straight ahead guitar driven rock n' roll but this time with a more 60's rather than 50's influence. A few singles on United Artists, recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with Dave Edmunds producing, followed in the early '70s.  In '76 they signed to Sire Records, who released three true gems of power pop: “Shake Some Action”, “Flamin' Groovies Now”, and “Jumpin' In The Night”.      

Another lineup change ensued in the next decade with Wilson moving to England and joining the Barracudas. The Groovies continued on thru the 80's and into the early '90s touring Australia and Europe, putting out a fine but overlooked album called Rock Juice and then finally calling it quits.  Jordan formed a new band called Magic Christian while Wilson released solo albums in Europe.  

Now in 2013, Jordan, Wilson and original founding member and bass player Geroge Alexander, have reunited for the first time since 1981. They're joined by drummer Victor Penalosa, a fine musician in his own right who faithfully recreates the style heard on the classic recordings while at the same time adding his own flavor.  The foursome has gone back into the studio to finish up long lost recordings as well as cutting brand new material.  They recently toured Japan and Australia, returning home to San Francisco to do a show that sold out in less than 24 hours.   Fans have been delighted with what is being called "a dream set list", including original songs the band has never performed before onstage.  Newcomers are asking, "Why haven't I ever heard of this group?"  It's hard to say just why the group hasn't gotten the attention they deserve (at least in the USA) but they're back to give everyone another chance at hearing and seeing just why those in the know consider them one of the greatest rock n' roll bands ever.

This marks an escalation of Jay-Z’s increasing moves into the industry, with the music mogul having also formed sports management company Roc Nation Sports earlier this month.

In partnership with the Creative Artists Agency, the first feather in Roc Nation Sports’ cap is the signing of New York Yankee Slugger Robinson Canó, who is a four time MLB all-star.

However, Jay-Z will have to sell his minority share in New York basketball team the Brooklyn Nets due to league legislation concerning a conflict of interests. The rap star, despite being the team’s celebrity figurehead, is only estimated to own Nets shares of $800,000.

According to Jay-Z, increasing his sports portfolio is an obvious next step:

"Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years.”

Speaking to footballer Rio Ferdinand's #5 magazine, the songstress explained that she prepared herself for "disappointment" because landing a meeting with Jay-Z seemed too good to be true:

"I’d sent my demos to RocNation when I was 17, then a few days later they called me up and said they wanted to meet. I panicked, thinking I wouldn’t be able to afford to go, I started selling trainers, then I realised they were going to pay for me."

Referring to the moment she actually met the '99 Problems' music mogul, Ora added: "I thought it was going to be another disappointment, but after 10 minutes we shook hands and then spent the next 2 hours having a DJ battle."

Earlier this week, Ora revealed that she was approached about a role as a judge on The X Factor, but decided to turn in down in order to keep her attention focused on her music career.

A message posted on Roc Nation's homepage reads "we would like to welcome Timbaland to the Roc Nation family", and a photograph of Timbaland (real name Timothy Zachery Mosley) in the studio with the '99 Problems' superstar accompanied the update.

The same picture and message was also shared on Jay-Z's Life + Times website. Timbaland rose to fame for his production work with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, Missy Elliott and Ludacris, and also released a series of well-received solo albums, including 2007's 'Shock Value'.

It's not yet known in what capacity he will work with the label. Timbaland hasn't tweeted about the exciting new venture either and his last update on the site (January 28) was: "dang i need that new season of breaking bad n my life right now."

The 'Radioactive' star is set to release a revamped package for debut US album, with her 'Ora' record supplemented with some new tracks.

The singer told MTV News that she has a few plans up her sleeve - and they could feature some members of her record label Roc Nation, which is headed by Jay-Z and features the likes of Rihanna. Ora said of her debut US album:

"There's a few surprises. I don't want to give them away, but it's definitely in the Roc [Nation] family."

The songstress added: "2013 is really important for me because it's gonna to be the first time the U.S. hears my official album and I wanted to put a few extra tracks on there and make it really special. So I'm basically giving you guys a whole new album of new material."

As previously reported, the rapper turned heads recently after he decided to take the public transport system to one of his shows in Brooklyn.

A clip taken from new documentary Life and Times: Where I'm From now shows an interesting chat Jay-Z had whilst on the subway.

The video shows the rapper sitting next to artist Ellen Grossman, who asks what his name is and if he is famous, to which Jay-Z replies: "Not that famous. You don't know me. But I'll get there some day."

He then talks about his tour so far before it dawns on the passenger that he might be famous after all, with Grossman asking for his name again before declaring: "Oh! You're Jay-Z! I know about Jay-Z!"

At the time of writing, the video has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times whilst Jay-Z's full 24 minute documentary has been seen 650,000 times.

The rapper isn't the first star to take the underground recently, with Rihanna notably causing chaos in London as she travelled to the O2 Arena earlier this year.

The pair teamed up on No. 1 single 'Hot Right Now' which showcased Ora's vocals to perfection and introduced her into the mainstream charts.

Fresh is pleased to have played an important part in launching the singer into super stardom.

He told BANG Showbiz: "She is mega talented. She just needed the right platform to launch her. For quite a long time, her management and label were looking for a single to launch her and 'Hot Right Now' was what they were looking for."

Ora - who is signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation record label - has since gone on to have hits with 'R.I.P' and 'How We Do (Party)'.

Fresh has revealed why he thinks 'Hot Right Now' was such a hit.

He explained: "It's a power of the people thing. The demand is there. It's overwhelming. Every young person today grows up listening to drum-and-bass and dubstep, and radio and TV weren't recognising that for a long time. Finally, they're realising they can't go against the tide.

He continued: "It's taken a long time for the world of TV and radio to catch up to the real world and what young people are listening to today."

The 'R.I.P' star - who is signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation record label – was overwhelmed after sharing the stage with the popular Brit rockers.

She told Harpers Bazaar magazine: "Performing in front of 50,000 people was such a great confidence-booster. Me and Chris Martin are similar on-stage - we don't do the same thing twice. It made me feel like I could take over the world."

Ora has a lot of love for her fellow British acts and has revealed her hopes in teaming up with Mumford and Sons.

She said: "I would love to do a collaboration with them. Coming from the UK feels like the coolest thing in the world right now."

Ora is proud of the fact she is inspiring wannabe singers like her own idols did when she was younger and starting out in the music industry.

Ora explained: "Growing up I loved Beyoncé and Gwen Stefani because they were honest girls, but people always need a new role model relevant to them. I find it exciting that girls have really connected with me and my music and that I have the power to change someone's life in three minutes, to wake them up."

The R&B star was reportedly warned by the Roc Nation mogul that he would never work in music if he ever hurt Rihanna again. But the 23-year-old told US radio show Power 106 that their recent conversation wasn’t so intense:

"It was cordial. It was real respectful. It was nothing like that. Me and him, it was like a green room [situation] and it was cool.

"People like to take it and run with it because they have nothing else."

The ‘Turn Up The Music’ chart-topper, who last week admitted that he and Rihanna are working on their friendship, then added:

"The funny thing is that with all these rumours and stuff, is that with other artists you'll hear 30 different rumours in a week and maybe one sticks.

"Everything with me sticks, everyone believes everything that somebody says, so you don't know what to pick from!"
