Justin Timberlake reveals calming method

'Mirrors' hitmaker Justin Timberlake takes his frustrations out on his pillows.

The 32-year-old star considers himself a calm person but admits he loses his cool at times.

Timberlake revealed in an interview with British magazine Star: "I use everything as therapy. I play golf, write songs, punch pillows. We've all done it. You get so mad that you punch a wall and then you break your hand or something. It's like the dumbest thing we do as humans."

Timberlake stars in the Trouble with the Curve alongside Hollywood stars Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams.

The film features a love story between Justin and Amy's characters, and Timberlake has revealed why complicated on-screen characters are more interesting to play.

He added: "We don't want to go to the movie theatre to watch people be perfect. We think we're going to escape, but what we really start doing, as soon as the first frame of the movie starts rolling, is we look to relate.

"I love this movie - it treats you like you're intelligent and humorous and have a heart."

Eccentric songstress Ke$ha wants to look like Keith Richards with "t**s''.

The 26-year-old star is famed for her wacky dress sense and larger-than-life personality.

Ke$ha takes style inspiration from Rolling Stones guitarist Richards.

Speaking to British magazine Look: ''I like taking a masculine style and making it sexy. I love suits and I always look to Keith Richards.

''If I could look like Keith Richards with t**s that'd be great.''

Ke$ha also revealed the reasoning behind her eclectic dress sense.

The star - who admits she once dyed her hair a drastic shade of blonde to look like an animal - says she takes inspiration from a range of people, places and things.

She added: ''I go from one extreme to the other. I've been influenced by everything, 80s wrestlers, at one point I wanted to look like a white lion, which is why I dyed my hair white.''

The bassist of newly reformed rockers Fall Out Boy has opened up about the band's hiatus and confessed that he developed an addiction to Xanax and Klonopin, which soon became damaging and debilitating.

Pete Wentz told the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine that he struggled with anxiety so began taking medication for it, but ended up becoming dependant on it: "I was probably physically and mentally addicted. It started from insomnia and anxiety from flying, then it spiralled."

The 'Sugar We're Going Down' hitmaker explained that he then split from his wife, Ashlee Simpson, and things spiralled out of control: "I felt like a loser already. I'd basically gone from being the guy in Fall Out Boy to being the guy, who, like, hangs out all day. I didn't see how I'd ever come out on the other side."

"I was scared of everything. I thought there were always people listening to me... I had my house searched for bugs. It was crazy."

He credited being a father to four-year-old Bronx with helping him get back on track, adding: "You're up in the morning, and you have to really be there. It's not like getting up for a radio interview. In some ways, that was super helpful for my soul."

Rap hitmaker Snoop Dogg has confessed that while he sang about being a pimp he actually was one for a while after taking advantage of the female attention he attracted as a music star.

Speaking exclusively to Rolling Stone magazine, the 'Drop It Like It's Hot' rapper explained that once he realised he could control big groups of women with his power he "put an organization together" and dealt them out to his friends and athletes for a fee:

"I put an organization together. I did a Playboy tour, and I had a bus follow me with ten bitches on it. I could fire a bitch, f**k a bitch, get a new ho: It was my program. City to city, titty to titty, hotel room to hotel room, athlete to athlete, entertainer to entertainer."

Referring specifically to the interest his services would garner from athletes, he added: "If I'm in a city where where the Denver Broncos or the Nuggets play, I get a couple of they players to come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number. A lot of athletes bought pussy from me."

Despite working as a pimp, Snoop admitted that he never kept any of the money he made and gave it all to the girls: "I'd act like I'd take the money from the bitch, but I'd let her have it. It was never about the money; it was about the fascination of being a pimp . . . As a kid I dreamed of being a pimp, I dreamed of having cars and clothes and bitches to match. I said, 'F**k it - I'm finna do it.'"

Will.i.Am: 'I can confirm that I'm producing Britney's new album'

Black Eyed Peas superstar Will.i.Am has revealed that he has been hired as the executive producer for Britney Spears's forthcoming new record.

He confirmed the exciting news to Rolling Stone magazine and explained that they're a few months into the long-awaited project:

"After I did a song on 'Femme Fatale' – 'Big Fat Bass' – and then we did 'Scream & Shout,' she really liked the way we worked because of my approach. So they asked me to be involved in, not producing and writing every song, but to be an executive producer on the songs."

When asked about the general direction of the album, the 'Boom Boom Pow' hitmaker was careful not to share any specifics but did confess that he spent a few months getting to know her on a more personal level so they could work who she really is into the songs that will make up the new offering:

"I was like, 'OK, look, guys, me and Britney need to have lunch four times a month for three months before I even try to go in the studio with her,'. Because we need to talk. We need to talk about what she's excited about in life. I gotta talk about the things that hurt her. I gotta talk about the things that make her concerned – she's a mother. I gotta talk to her about all the things that her fans want to talk to her about. I gotta be the vehicle between her and her fans."

"We can't do another song about going on the dance floor. Really? Didn't we see a bunch of Britney doing that already? Don't we want to see something that comes from her heart?"

Hitmaker Pharrell Williams has opened up about working with French electro-duo Daft Punk on their chart-topping single, 'Get Lucky', which also features Nile Rodgers.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine about the high-profile collaboration, the 'Lapdance' star explained that it shows a change in the attitude towards mixing musical genres and it's opening up a new dynamic that will be great for the industry:

"The idea of people collaborating is cool. But I think more than anything else I'm just excited about the change, a new wave in music. There's something happening in the ether, and you know about it or you don't. And if you know, it's because you're probably somewhere engineering the change. If you don't know about it then you're probably somewhere missing your call, and you're gonna end up chasing it."

With this in mind, Williams added that Daft Punk are definitely at the forefront of this exciting movement: "The people that are leading are gonna do some really incredible things because they're reaching from oblivion to come up with new stuff. So, to me, that's interesting to watch."

"I think the robots are leading. Daft Punk, they're definitely leading."

'Locked Out Of Heaven' hitmaker Bruno Mars has admitted that his older brother, Eric Hernandez, sacrificed a police career to play drums with him on tour.

The superstar covers the forthcoming edition of Rolling Stone magazine, which hits newsstands on April 26, and Hernandez explained that he had to decide between supporting his brother's music career or working as a police officer:

"I was like, 'If I don't give this up and I'm watching some other guy play drums for my brother, that's going to eat me up."

Jimmy Eat World announce new album and unveil lead single

Arizona rockers Jimmy Eat World are back with their eighth studio album, 'Damage'.

This new record, hashtagged as '#Album8' by the guys on Twitter in the run up to the revealing of the official title, acts as their follow up offering to 2010's 'Invented' and is due to be released later this summer on June 10 through RCA Records.

In addition to announcing the release of 'Damage', Jimmy Eat World have also unveiled the cut's lead single, 'I Will Steal You Back', which is a midtempo melodic track that brims with the romance and emotion fans expect from the group. The song was first played on BBC Radio 1 last week and was also named Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record in the World' on April 10.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, frontman Jim Adkins described the album as "an attempt at making an adult breakup record" in that "the consequences to what the characters are going through are more significant."

On April 12, tickets for the band's headlining show on June 16 at London's KOKO venue went on sale and sold out several hours later. They are also confirmed to perform at this year's Download Festival in the UK and are gearing up to announce details of a full world tour in support of 'Damage'.

Their new album's titletrack will also be released as a limited edition vinyl on Record Store Day, which takes place on April 20 (Friday), and the full tracklisting for 'Damage' can be seen below:

During a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the R&B hitmaker explained that the record steers away from 'Euro beats' and instead heads down the Michael Jackson path:

"Making 'X', I found out who I am. This album has a lot of substance, from the subject matter and the situations to how it deals with love. It's really derived from personal experiences. Then again, I always like mixing reality with art. I tried to stay away from the Euro beats, and not go totally pop. Instead, I wanted to take the Quincy Jones approach."

Brown added: "The record pays homage to the Stevie Wonders, the Michael Jacksons, the Sam Cookes: I wanted to put that classic essence of R&B and soul with the new age of music now. There's a lot of live instruments, and a lot less Auto-Tune. I really wanted to demonstrate my vocal ability, creating the vibe of me singing along with a band."

The lead single from 'X' is called 'Fine China' and the music video for the track will be unveiled on April 1.

The band's frontman, Marcus Mumford, explained to Rolling Stone magazine that winning Album of the Year for their sophomore offering 'Babel' came as a surprise as they didn't expect it to be as successful as their debut:

"As we were making 'Babel', 'Sigh No More's' shadow kept getting bigger and bigger. There was a lot in us that was like, 'That's OK, fuck it, 'Babel' will be the disappointing second child – like a lot of us are, actually. And that's fine. We were making it really believing it and thinking about that as much as possible – and so it's really sweet now to see it do its thing as well. That's crazy for us."

He added: "When we released 'Sigh No More', our manager said, 'We're probably gonna sell between 100,000 and 150,00 records.' And we were like, 'That's amazing!' Since then, everything has gotten more ridiculous, fantastical and mind-fucking."

Keyboardist Ben Lovett also spoke about their win and revealed that having fellow British music star Adele present them with the prize made it even more worthwhile: "I actually said to Adele she should read out our name no matter who it was. It felt really weird. We'd been [to the Grammys] a few times. The physiological experience of sitting there and being shortlisted and calling out someone else's name was rehearsed. But this third time, we won. They called us up. And it was the big one, as well. Really crazy."

'Suit & Tie' hitmaker Justin Timberlake has praised super producer Timbaland in a new interview and opened up about their bond.

Speaking to Rolling Stone about their relationship, Timberlake admitted that there's an unspoken understanding that translates musically and helps them work together seamlessly:

"My relationship with [Timbaland] is a relationship that I have with nobody else in the world. We're like brothers, really. You have friends like that, friends you don't have to say much to, but you know they just get who you are."

"That's the relationship I have with Tim, where we go in the studio and kind of don't even speak to each other. He'll start tinkering around or I'll start playing some chords and start tinkering around."

He added: "My relationship with Tim is very unique, we share the same perspective that we always want to make something that reminds us of music that we love, but at the same time is something we've never heard before."

John Mayer "fascinated" by Frank Ocean

Singer-songwriter John Mayer has praised hitmaker Frank Ocean for his impressive creativity and described him as having an "interesting" mind.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine about Ocean's talent and personality, the 'Clarity' star confessed that his friend is very 'deep' and he hopes he can find another person on his level to be with"

"I love Frank's stuff. Frank is such an interesting, deep, touched, wonderful guy. They don't make a lot of other Frank Oceans, and the guy is looking for another."

"And the way that his mind works is craving the same frequency that he's able to communicate on, and I think he's just searching for that kind of depth that he has inside of himself in someone else. He's fascinating to me. He's so great."

Ocean made headlines earlier this week after it was revealed that he got involved in a fight with Chris Brown, in which he was called a "f**got" by the 'Don't Wake Me Up' sensation.
