The Grammy-nominated, multiplatinum alternative rock band Papa Roach will be heading back to Europe in support of their latest album The Connection (Eleven Seven Music). The band announced the tour just before their storming main stage appearance at Download Festival at the weekend. This will be their first headlining tour since 2009 and kicks off in Portsmouth on December 1st, finishing at Brixton Academy on Dec 10th, bringing Middle Class Rut and Amercian Fangs along as support . After visiting the UK as part of the Taste of Chaos tour in 2010, co-headlining with Stone Sour last year, as well as Sonisphere and Download Festival appearances, one of this generation’s greatest live rock bands is now back headlining in their own right.

Kat Von D wears Deadmau5's engagement ring

After spending Christmas with Deadmau5's family, celebrity tattoo artist, Kat Von D is wearing his engagement ring.

DeadMau5 tweeted his marriage proposal to Von D, as well as photos of the ring in progress.

The uploaded Twitpic showed a huge diamond flanked by silver or white gold skulls but Deadmau5 pointed out that the diamond was being changed to a black stone.

The couple split up last month (November), however Deadmau5 tweeted a marriage proposal days later:

"I can't wait for Christmas so.... Katherine Von Drachenberg, will you marry me?"

The 31-year-old also uploaded a photo of the ring (see below).

Von D responded by tweeting: "Mi corazon! Thank you all for the lovely congratulations! Please excuse me while I go squeeze the hell out of my fiance!"

Von D was previously engaged to Sandra Bullock's cheating ex-husband, Jesse James. Prior to that relationship, she dated Nikki Sixx, Motley Crue's bassist.

Kiss and Mötley Crüe donating $100,000 to Aurora Victim Relief Fund after tragic shooting

Iconic rock bands Kiss and Mötley Crüe have pledged $100,000 (£62,500) to the victims of the shocking theatre shooting that happened in Colorado recently.

Suspected gunman James Holmes allegedly opened fire on film goers at a screening of 'The Dark Knight Rises' in Aurora, CO on July 20 and the two bands have promised to hand over the generous donation to the Aurora Victim Relief Fund.

In an official statement, Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx explained that he hopes the money will be put to good use for those involved in the tragedy:

"The terror these innocent victims of the Aurora massacre must have experienced and the profound loss their families now face is unimaginable. We hope that our small gesture helps inspire others to band together in compassion and financial support for all involved in this unspeakable tragedy."

Slash, The Who lead tributes to guitar amp founder Jim Marshall

The likes of Slash and The Who have paid tribute to the founder of the Marshall guitar amplifiers, Jim Marshall.

Marshall's death was confirmed today (April 5) at the age of 88. Marshall amps are a staple of the guitar scene, with many of the biggest names in music devoted users.

The company said in a statement:

"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved founder and leader for the past 50 years, Jim Marshall. Your memory; the music and joy your amps have brought to countless millions for the past five decades; and that world-famous, omnipresent script logo that proudly bears your name will always live on."

Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash tweeted in tribute:

"The news of Jim Marshall passing is deeply saddening. R & R will never be the same w/out him. But, his amps will live on FOREVER! \,,/,"

Classic rockers The Who meanwhile said: "RIP Jim Marshall, Father of Loud....."

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx added: "R.I.P. Jim Marshall. You were responsible for some of the greatest audio moments in music's history and 50% of all our hearing loss......"

Motley Crue to Headline Summer Tour With Support From Poison and Special Guests New York Dolls
