Daft Punk release new album trailer at Coachella

French electro duo Daft Punk have unveiled yet another teaser for their forthcoming album ‘Random Access Memories’.

Despite not being on the bill to play this year’s Coachella music festival, Daft Punk chose the event to air new footage which reveals further details surrounding their long awaited fourth album. The short clip shows the robot-headed dance group playing new song ‘Get Lucky’ accompanied by Nile Rodgers on guitar and Pharrell Williams providing vocals. The song features the lyrics, “She's up all night 'til the sun / I'm up all night to get some / She's up all night for good fun / I'm up all night to get lucky.”

The film also reveals a number of other high profile names who will feature on ‘Random Access Memories’ including Animal Collective’s Panda Bear, Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, Todd Edwards, DJ Falcon, Chilly Gonzales, Giorgio Moroder and Paul Williams.

This preview is the latest instalment in the mysterious promotional campaign for Daft Punk’s first release in eight years. In February the band announced via Facebook that they had signed with Columbia Records. A month later posters featuring Daft Punk’s new logo appeared in major cities across the globe. Then in March short television adverts promoting ‘Random Access Memories’ were premiered on US television during ‘Saturday Night Live.’

Ahead of the album’s release in May it is believed that the record will be launched and played in full at the Wee Waa Show, an annual event that takes place in New South Wales, Australia.

Black Manila Release Free Download Of Pére Lachaise

DEBUT SINGLE 'SHAKE THAT THING' RELEASED APRIL 1st THROUGH RIP RECORDS

'Their sound may have many fathers, but their songs are all their own...catch this exciting band now before they get too big.' - Metro

‘Black Manila are a band who have clearly decided that rock 'n' roll - at its key, most core level - is a degenerate art form, played by outcasts. Something that shouldn't be downloaded but rolled up, smoked, consumed and soaked in through every pore’ - Clash

‘Sounds something like The Strokes dipped in Jack White’ - The 405

Black Manila are three young punks from South London who have spent their formative years honing their love of music by diving into the fun and free world of garage rock & roll. As well as an extremely limited edition sold out 10” released through the Jaguar Shoes Collective, the band have truly captured the respect and attention of the capital's alt-rock underground with their accomplished yet raucous live shows.

Fusing together sunny west coast garage riffs with a distinctly British charm and swagger, Black Manila create one of the few bridges between London and the flourishing garage scene across Europe and America.

In 2013 Black Manila will tour the UK and Europe to support the release of their debut 7” single ‘Shake That Thing’. The single was recorded and produced at Toe Rag Studios by Liam Watson, famed for co-producing the Grammy award winning album 'Elephant' by The White Stripes.

Currently writing their debut album, Black Manila look all set to take 2103 by the horns.

The Strokes' new album sessions felt like 'marriage therapy'

Early writing sessions for The Strokes' new album have felt like marriage therapy, according to bassist Nikolai Fraiture.

The New York rockers, who co-headlined the Reading and Leeds Festivals with Pulp over the weekend (August 27 and 28), admitted their relationship was strained during the making of their latest album, 'Angles'.

Fraiture said although the five-piece are now in a "good place", he admitted that not everyone in the band is contributing equally to new material yet.

He said in an interview with the Daily Star: "Some people are bringing in stuff, some are not. There aren't so many finished songs but we have many parts. We try putting them together like puzzles and making them stick.

He added that the sessions will only get into gear when everyone has the time to be in the studio together, adding:

"What we do on our own is not the same as what we do together. We're in a good place as a band right now. I feel like I'm at therapy in a marriage."

Frontman Julian Casablancas admitted that he stalled sessions for the new album earlier this year, which will be the band's fifth. He hinted at tensions with guitarist Nick Valensi, who apparently wanted to record a solo album of songs put together by The Strokes.

The Strokes have unveiled the cover art for their new and forthcoming album, 'Angles'.

The picture belongs to a Belgian artist named Guy Pouppez, who died in 1993, and according to the NME the band were shown his work by their graphic designer.

A spokesperson for The Strokes explained:

"His work is basically unknown, as far as we [the band] know,"

"He was not a famous painter. The graphic designer who designed our album art found it through an art dealer she knows in France."

"We tracked down his only heir, his daughter, and she gave us the rights to use it so long as we wrote in the liner notes: 'Cover painting by Guy Pouppez courtesy of his daughter'."

The release of the The Strokes' new single, which they made available yesterday (February 9) as a free digital download, was so popular that it crashed their official website.

'Under Cover of Darkness' is the first single from the band for a considerable period of time and guitarist Albert Hammond explained their new sound to Radio 1's Zane Lowe in response to being asked if The Strokes has entered a new era:

"I would be completely shocked if it wasn't."

"I see us completely making music together. I see us doing a world tour in balance with a new record.

"We're going to tour."

Hammond also addressed the band's five year musical hiatus and said that the break made them appreciate what they have even more now:

"All of that, if anything, gave you perspective on what I find so beautiful about The Strokes.

"It really is something bigger than one person - a combination of things which couldn't happen without us.

"I would say even more so. I was playing the new album to a friend this morning and they said, 'It makes me want to dance'."
