UK Charts Prepare to #FeelTheLove with Cahill ft Kimberley Locke

Cahill are back with their new single, ‘Feel The Love’ and prove once again that when it comes to anthemic, floor-filling house music, no one does it better! The Liverpool-based trio underline their status as one of the UK’s hottest production outfits as they team up with American Idol star, Kimberley Locke, on vocals, to deliver an uplifting, euphoric track destined to become a summer anthem. Due for release on 16th June on 3 Beat Records, ‘Feel The Love’ brings a simple, positive message, on top of a tune so catchy you’ll be humming it in your sleep!

Cahill are Anton Powers, Tim Condran and Scott Rosser. They crashed into the UK charts in 2007 with their first single, ‘Trippin’ On You’, a vocal house classic, playlisted on Radio 1, Galaxy, Kiss FM and more, going on to be played over 30,000 times on UK radio! The trio continued to hone their skills, delivering huge dancefloor smashes, alongside remixes that read like a who’s who of popular music, including; Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Nicole Scherzinger, Taylor Swift, Emeli Sande, Professor Green, Miley Cyrus, Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey, Paloma Faith the list goes on...

Kimberley Locke was a competitor on the 3rd series of American Idol, gaining huge exposure as she battled her way to third place. Since then she has forged a successful career in music and television in the US. A chance encounter lead to the opportunity to work with Cahill, and Kimberley’s stunning vocal abilities merged seamlessly with Cahill’s studios skills and dancefloor instincts to create something very special. When these artists got together the message was obvious....#FeelTheLove!

‘Feel The Love’ is already enjoying heavy Radio 1 support from the likes of Greg James and Danny Howard, as well as Capital, KISS FM and many more. The track itself kicks off with the euphoric vocal refrain, ‘Feel The Love’, giving an immediate feel-good injection. From then on the quality Cahill production keeps on building the positive dancefloor vibes, with a warm, funked up bassline, pumping beats and uplifting strings; the perfect backdrop for Kimberley’s soaring vocals. Summer has most definitely landed!

The video for ‘Feel The Love’ is the ideal accompaniment to the song; a feel-good video that leaves a smile on your face every time you watch it. It begins with Anton from Cahill writing a message on a post-it note which he leaves crumpled on the floor of a tube train in London. A guy picks it up, reads it and then catches the eye of a beautiful girl. From there, they fall in love and spread the message to Feel The Love across London....

With Cahill’s dance music background, it’s no wonder that, ‘Feel The Love’, comes with a remix package so big you could hold a festival in its back garden! Alongside Cahill’s own Club Mix, Grum steps up to deliver a cool mix full of early 90’s style pianos and drum loops – destined to be big. Anton Powers teams up with E-Squire for another big room house version, while rising star TS7 shows why he’s being talked about with a quality UK garage mix. Benjamin Leung & Fiasko drop an electro house mix with anthemic chorus and driving bassline, while next up, Toy Armada and DJ Grind add trance-tinged synths to their uplifting mix. Hi Def drops a tougher electro mix, and just when you think you couldn’t dance any more, Tommy MC kicks in with a pumping piano house mix that will drag you back to the dancefloor once again!

As the sun starts to shine, the message from Cahill and Kimberley Locke is loud and clear. #FeelTheLove

Studio Wizard MinusBlue Releases Second Studio Album “Living Life In Phases”

Living Life In Phases is the brilliant new album from Sheffield native Leigh Devlin under the alias MinusBlue, released via Seamless Recordings on 16th May.

Having engineered on Dizzee Rascal’s Mercury Prize winning album, Boy In Da Corner, remixed for Reverend And The Makers, and signed over 100 records to down-tempo compilations, Leigh Devlin’s career goes back some years. Living Life In Phases is an electronic album exuding a colourful mix of influences and a wealth of experience from a 30 year musical history.

As co-founder of the legendary Kenwood Studios in Sheffield where the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Fila Brazilia and Groove Armada all recorded, Leigh Devlin is a master engineer at the sound desk. His technical wizardry saw him run Sheffield practice studio Bok Studios where the likes of Roots Manuva and Phil Oakley (Human League) were regulars, to tutoring at the Sheffield College of Music alongside fellow heavyweights, Simon Stafford and Sarah Jay, who’ve worked with Joe Strummer and Massive Attack respectively.

It’s this musical background that inspired Living Life In Phases, the second studio album from MinusBlue and the result of a three year hiatus travelling Europe. In comparison to its 2009 self-titled predecessor, Life In Stages drifts from MinusBlue’s previous chilled out sounds into a stripped back affair of lush eighties and nineties influenced sounds with simple drums and synths and airy production.

Leigh said, “I wanted to move away from being tarred with the 'chillout' brush. I wanted to make a poppy/Balearic/electronic sound that was a bit of a look back through my musical background. That's why there is an 80s and 90s feel to some of the tracks. I had got to the point with the previous album, and working on other peoples music down the years, that I needed a break from writing and producing, hence the trip around Europe. I also needed something to write about, and life kind of gives you that, if you let it. I had plenty to write about by the time I started again. That's why the album is called Living Life In Phases”.

The first single to be released from the album, Don’t Give Love Away, was an international hit, played on rotation on the likes of Kiss FM Australia, Billboard USA and multiple stations across Europe.

Living Life In Phases was built from the ground up to be a live project and, along with the band’s talented singer songwriters, will be toured later this year in the UK and Ibiza.

Vocalists on the album include Justin Lewis who, with his critically acclaimed Justin Lewis Orchestra, performed at Glastonbury and signed to Beastie Boys label, Grand Royale; plus Grammy Award winning guest vocalist Keithen Carter who’s written with everyone from Chaka Khan to Philip Bailey (Earth Wind & Fire).

Fans of the Human League, Joy Division, Warp Records and Orbital are bound to enjoy this album. It’s a rich tapestry of musical influences and a rare opportunity to hear an LP reflecting so many years of experience. Leigh Devlin’s ongoing love for music shines throughout.

Schemata Theory: Explosive UK metal newcomers ready debut album release

"A beautiful blend of progressive textures and soaring vocal arrangements.'"– TheNewReview

"Purely sensational music and experimentation." - Throwing Shapes Media & Reviews

“Dry Lung Rhetoric is a calling card from a band destined for great things, combining melody, aggression, attitude and ambition to an exhilarating effect.” – OneMetal.com

Bursting onto the UK metal/prog-metal scene all guns blazing, energetic new Reading-based six-piece Schemata Theory prepare to unleash their explosive debut album ‘Dry Lung Rhetoric’ on June 3.

The album, which was recorded at the renowned Stakeout Studios and produced by Jason Wilcock (Fightstar, We Are The Ocean, The Ghost of A Thousand), features 11 tracks and includes a guest appearance from Mutiny Within’s Chris Clancy on concluding final track, ‘The Final Breath’.

Combining many aspects of the metal genre, Dry Lung Rhetoric fuses classic thrash riffing, progressive technical instrumental passages, melodic hooks and soaring choruses, creating a set of songs that are accessible, original and thought provoking.

From the groove-metal orientated ‘Perish or Prevail’ to the piano driven ballad ‘Your Belief’, through to the more commercially melodic ‘Drones’ and catchy lead single ‘A Complex Slate’, the album is an experimental mix of eclectic metal infusions with the influence of bands such as Dream Theater and Metallica being prominent in the complex song structures, technical riffs and prominent guitar solos.

The message behind the album is an interesting one. “The album’s themes communicate acknowledgement of a sleeping world needing to wake up,” explains psychology graduate and vocalist Myles Dyer. “With so much evidently in crisis on this planet, the question that must be asked is ‘How much longer can we go on turning a blind eye?’”

The band has released an impressive and eye-catching video for lead single ‘A Complex Slate’, which has already gained in excess of 45,000 views.

Will.i.Am: “I have ADHD, I'll admit it”

Will.i.Am has revealed that he has ADHD.

In an interview with the Sunday Mirror 'The Voice' judge opened up about having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and professed: “I have ADHD, I'll admit it.”

He went on to detail how ADHD affects him. The Black Eyed Peas star said: “I've got all this stuff in my head at the same time as I'm doing stuff and I don't know how to stop or slow down.”

Although the condition impedes his ability to concentrate, he has found that this has proved to be a beneficial characteristic when it comes to his music.

Will.i.Am explained: “One thing I learned about ADHD is that it's hard to keep your attention and you can't sit still and you're always moving and thinking about a bunch of things. But those traits work well for me in studios and in meetings about creative ideas.”

The American recording artist even uses the term “ADHD” to describe some of his music:

“If you listen to the songs I write, they are the most ADHD songs ever. They have five hooks in one and it all happens in three minutes. I figured out a way of working with it.”

Paramore: 'We channelled Prince's energy while recording our new album'

Pop-rock trio Paramore have revealed that while working on their new record, they spent time in Prince's own room at Sunset Sound studios in Los Angeles.

Their self-titled new offering is set to be released on April 9 and frontwoman Hayley Williams explained that they were lucky enough to record some of it in Prince's private quarters: "We were actually in Prince's room that he built… he lived there for I heard like two years or something. We were just in his room, just chillin'."

Bandmate Taylor York confessed that they even had access to the "personal bathroom that he built that we used every day. Just knowing that we shared a toilet with him," adding: "We channelled Prince's energy!"

Flame-haired Williams went on to admit that some of the tracks from her band's new album have a movie-feel:

"When I listen to some of the songs and the feeling that I got writing some of these songs and the lyrics, sometimes it felt like I was in a John Hughes movie, sometimes it did feel a little 'Back To The Future'-ish, there'd be like sounds that the guys were coming up with that just felt other-worldly and really exciting."
