The tour kicks off at Ireby Music Festival on Saturday 25th May followed by the first leg of the walk from Cumbria arriving at Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland on June 1st.  Steve will then take the tour to Derby and Southwell Folk Festival before returning north for a grand finale at the Folkalpoint festival at The Sage Gateshead on November 30th 2013.

The tour has been inspired by Steve’s long term musical buddy Tim, who developed the neurological condition ataxia which curtailed his ability to perform. Steve wrote and recorded the song Steady, which features Stephen Doherty’s hauntingly beautiful whistle-playing, to raise awareness of ataxia and to support the charity Ataxia UK’s 2020 campaign to find a cure.

Ataxia is a progressive neurological disorder for which there is no cure. It affects motor co-ordination, walking, vision and speech. There are 10,000 adults with the condition in the UK and it can affect any age group including children. Ataxia UK supports people affected by the condition as well as funding vital research into finding a cure. www.ataxia.org.uk/

Steve Bonham says “I want to do something about this ataxia thing and I want to make more people aware of it - so people don’t think those affected are drunk or stupid. I want people to see beyond the stumble and the uncertainty to the still strong person within. And I want to raise some dosh so that good research by clever people can go on.” 

Steve will be show casing Steady along with songs from his 2012 critically acclaimed album ‘The Moon’s High Tide’ and some new pieces. He will be joined by the “Bishop” (keyboards, tuba and percussion) and special guests to create some exhilarating performances of contemporary folk music.  Steve is a folk veteran and has collaborated with folk royalty such as ex-Saw Doctor Pearce Doherty, Jimmy Higgins (Irish band Altan) and Fairport Convention’s legendary Dave Pegg.

At only 19 years old Cameron has been writing songs since he was 12 and ‘Reh Reh Reh’ will be his first commercial release.

The single is going down a storm in clubs across the UK and the official music video, which features fancy clad dancers (from The BRIT School no less), coo-ing grannies and a cameo from Eastenders’ very own Nasty Nick has already received 150k views on YouTube.

The first wave of nominations have been released for this year's ceremony, which is taking place on August 11.

One Direction are nominated for the Choice Music Group prize, whilst their singer Harry Styles is up for the Choice Male Hottie and Choice Smile gongs.

The news seemingly cements Styles as the leading icon from the group, who also feature the likes of Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

Other nominees for the ceremony include Justin Bieber in the Choice Male Artist and Male Hottie categories.

The hotly contested Choice Female Artist section will see Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, P!nk, Rihanna and Taylor Swift battle it out.

The UK indie icons played the song 'Do I Wanna Know?' last night (May 22) in Ventura, California.

It was their first show since appearing at the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in July last year.

Fans seemed to lap up 'Do I Wanna Know?' on YouTube, with one user commenting: "OH MY GOODNESS. THIS IS AMAZING. and completely new sounding, omg love it."

As previously reported, Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders suggested that the band could release a new album this year.

Their last studio effort came in the shape of 2011's 'Suck It And See', which gave them their fourth consecutive UK No.1 album.

The Music Matters Unsung Hero Award is designed to celebrate and shine a light on the hard-working individuals who toil away behind the scenes to make the careers of our favourite music stars possible.

The Music Matters campaign aims to get people thinking about the story behind the music they listen to. It is easy to forget that behind each song is a team of dedicated professionals who make it happen. Once an artist has written a song there is then a long process before we can listen to the finished product. 

This process takes a lot of time and skill from not only the artists themselves but their music producers, engineers, instrument technicians and a cast of hundreds working behind the scenes. 

Without the paid expertise of these people, it would be hard to maintain the quality of music we have today.
