Announcing a list of additions to an already formidable line-up, Electric Daisy Carnival London looks set to make this Summer of Love an extra special one. The fresh acts joining the line-up for this extravaganza are Burns, Chris Lake, Chuckie, Deniz Koyu & Danny Avila, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dirty South, Feed Me, Flux Pavilion, Jack Beats, Mat Zo, Nero, NERVO, Sub Focus and Tom Staar. 

Watch London electro producer Burns whose Sony Music ‘Limitless’ EP is available now for pre-order. UK house producer Chris Lake plays all around the world, and comes to Electric Daisy Carnival fresh from a US tour. Listen to his big tune ‘Ohh Shhh’ now. Dirty Dutch house supremo DJ and producer Chuckie arrives on the line-up for Electric Daisy Carnival London, bringing his own world-renowned sound to proceedings. 

Turkish DJ sensation Deniz Koyu and Spain’s prodigy Danny Avila have joined forces this year for their Generation Wild tour, which takes in Electric Daisy Carnival London as part of its whirlwind schedule. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike recently enjoyed a Beatport Number 1 with ‘Turn It Up’, and these Belgian brothers don’t look like slowing down any time soon. In just two years their star has risen, and this year they won the Best Break-Through DJ award at the 28th Annual International Dance Music Awards. Acclaimed producer, DJ and remixer Dirty South has worked with a host of artists including Snoop Dogg, David Guetta, Sebastian Ingrosso, Deniz Kuyo and Alesso. His album, April’s ‘Speed of Life’, is a big-room corker – see him at his best on 20th July. 

His recent release on mau5trap Records has won acclaim from all corners, and he’s an Electric Daisy Carnival veteran, having played Las Vegas in 2012 – and now Londoner Feed Me plays on his home turf. Fresh from the release of his brand new EP ‘Blow the Roof’, UK dubstep big gun Flux Pavilion also joins the Speakerbox Arena. The Circus Records mastermind, who has recently collaborated with Major Lazer, was nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll, and brings a distinctive bass sound to the event. DJ duo Jack Beats have remixed for the likes of Skream, Big Boi and La Roux and join Electric Daisy Carnival London for a big set. 

Catch British wunderkind producer Mat Zo – whose May collaboration with Porter Robinson ‘Easy’ has already reached the Number 1 spot on Beatport and Hype Machine – is a don’t-miss addition to the line-up.Grammy Award-winning British trio Nero – who have collaborated with and remixed the likes of Skrillex, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris and N.E.R.D., and whose track ‘Into the Past’ features on the soundtrack for the upcoming film ‘The Great Gatsby’ – join the line-up. With a follow-up to their debut ‘Welcome to Reality’, which reached Number 1 in the UK albums chart, under construction, this is a chance to see this big-name act in Mistajam’s Speakerbox Arena. 

Joining the Main Stage experience are Australian twins NERVO, who co-wrote David Guetta’s Grammy-winning 2011 track ‘When Love Takes Over’, and have also worked with Afrojack and Steve Aoki. They bring an undeniable stage presence to Electric Daisy Carnival London. Another big addition, Londoner Sub Focus joins the ranks on the Speakerbox Arena. Ahead of the release of his second album later this year, his new single ‘Endorphins’, featuring Alex Clare, is released in May and is available now for pre-order. And don’t miss out on seeing Moda Music founding member Tom Staar. 

Electric Daisy Carnival, the world-famous electronic music event, heads to London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 20th July 2013 for its first international event outside the USA. Promising to be one of the biggest UK shows of the summer, Electric Daisy Carnival London features some of electronic music’s biggest and most globally recognised talent across one main stage and three arenas.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will begin to open to the public this summer. Electric Daisy Carnival is one of a series of summer concerts and events taking place throughout the summer. After forming in a small off-the-map town in Southern England, one of the band’s recordings found its way to Youth. Blown away by their sound, he invited the band to his studios in Spain where he produced the album. Under Youth’s direction they laid down 17 tracks in six days which were whittled down to form “Collective”.

The result is a breathtaking statement of intent, demonstrating a depth of lyric and songwriting which has become increasingly rare amongst many contemporary artists. It is a purposeful and honest collection of songs. 

After an intense recording experience the album has been described by the band as “A sonic photograph of the five of us, as a band, at that moment in time. Our influences, emotions, personalities and inter-relationships, frozen in time forever.”Echotape have come a long way since the release of their debut EP ‘Sky Above Quarley Hill”. After joining the formidable Mumiy Troll on tour, the band were invited to perform in front of arena crowds in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. This April they will embark on their own headline tour taking in Manchester, London, Brighton, Bristol and Birmingham. 

Since their creation, art, photography and design have played an important role in the creative integrity of Echotape. The band developed these ambitions with the recent video for ‘Spinning’ forming part of an installation in the Tate Modern and photographs of the band featuring in an exhibition at the Tate Britain.

This year Echotape will continue to transcend boundaries with an album that cements their identity as one of the most exciting bands this year.

Since being heralded by The Guardian and others as a band to watch at the start of the year, Night Engine have made their first forays out of London supporting Kaiser Chiefs in the North before joining The Joy Formidable for the Southern leg of their UK tour, ending in a show at London’s Roundhouse. In between, the band played only their second London headline show at the Borderline, selling out the venue a fortnight in advance to further enhance the feeling that this is a band whose time is now. Reviewing the show, The Independent on Sunday’s Simon Price praised ‘their ease with song dynamics’ as ‘uncanny’, thrilling to the ‘ascending verses, swooping middle eights, soaring choruses and fiendish hooks’. Rough Trade London got in on the act as well, making ‘Seventeen’ part of their chosen tracks of the week for their Guardian linked Tracks of The Week download club.

The single continues the band’s stated ambition to write ‘the music of the city’, combining strident dancefloor rhythms with the ‘bass driven strut’ that captivated NME so much at a recent show.

With a juggernaut career that spans five decades, Daltrey’s work with The Who marked some of the most defining moments in rock and roll history.  Daltrey’s powerful stage presence earned him a reputation as one of the most charismatic frontmen of all time and he became the face and voice of a generation.  The band's iconic single "My Generation" captured the revolutionary spirit of the 1960s and today Daltrey continues to inspire and ignite passion in musicians across the Globe.

The band then head over to the U.S. to go out on the road with their biggest fan Dave Grohl on the Foo Fighters tour in November. 

The Joy Formidable are currently on tour in the USA where their growth has been exponential before returning to the UK for a full UK tour for October. During their time Stateside, the band will perform on the Letterman show on Thursday 6th October. They follow that final trip around the UK in 2011 with a further visit to North America to support Foo Fighters throughout November.

The country specific award was created to celebrate the best in contemporary music from Wales and a shortlist of 12 albums, which includes some huge names, was released this week. 

The 'If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next' stars have been recognised for their latest album, 'Postcards From A Young Man', and will compete against Funeral For A Friend's 'Welcome Home Armegeddon', The Joy Formidable's 'The Big Roar' and The Blackout's 'Hope'. 

The winner will be crowned in October during the SWN Festival in Cardiff and tickets for the Manics' recently announced one-off singles concert are now on sale to the general public.

The 11 will all perform live either at BBC Cymru Wales studios in Cardiff, at Theatr Clwyd in Mold or in the Monkey Café in Swansea, as part of the celebration of new and established Welsh musical talent, the latter including exclusive contributions from Cerys Matthew, James Dean Bradfield and The Joy Formidable.

A panel of Radio Wales's promoters of new talent, including the Evening Show's Alan Thompson, Adam Walton and Bethan Elfyn came up with the list of bands and artists they think will be big in the next couple of years.

They are:

Karl Morgan, a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from Swansea who has just signed to EMI Publishing New York;
Toy Horses, a "melody-fuelled" two-piece from Cardiff;
Friends Electric, an "infectious, electric-pop" foursome from Neath who are on the BBC Radio 1 playlist this week;
Jonathan Powell, a Cardiff-based singer-songwriter who worked with Charlotte Church on her latest CD;
The Gentle Good, aka Gareth Bonello from Cardiff, who sings in both English and Welsh;
Emmy's Unicorn, a two-piece of vocalist Emmy Lou Kay and Mr Ronz who hails from Swansea and is responsible for the soundtrack to Law And Order: UK;
Colorama, a sixties-inspired band whose founder Carwyn Ellis lived on Anglesey but is now Cardiff-based;
Courteous Thief, a four-piece acoustic rock band from Llandudno;
Masters In France, a Bangor-based band who have performed at both the Wakestock and Faenol festivals, who are due to join the Radio 1 playlist in April;
Houdini Dax, a Cardiff-based band whose first full-length CD release is due in the summer;
The Direction, a three-piece pop/rock band from Swansea.

Last year's Radio Wales Music Day participants have gone on to greater things, with Heal The Last Stand touring and recording in the USA, while Penarth's Pete Lawrie has been playlisted three times for BBC Radio 2 and is about to release his debut album.

Radio Wales Music Day, which will include Welsh music and live acts across the broadcasting schedule, also sees some established Welsh artists joining in the celebrations, such as Manic Street Preachers's frontman James Dean Bradfield, who has signed up to record an exclusive track, plus The Joy Formidable talking about growing up in Mold.

Mid-morning presenters Jamie Owen and Louise Elliott will be travelling to Swansea to encourage patrons of the city's Monkey Café in Castle Street to get involved live on air from 9am, while Alan Thompson's Evening Show will be live from Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold from 7.30pm.

And there will also be a documentary marking one of Wales's most famous music venues, the "legendary" TJs in Newport, narrated by Cerys Matthews.

Speaking about the newly announced show, bassist Nicky Wire commented "We are really looking forward to playing Cardiff CIA again as it has been over three years since we played there. It will be a great warm up for the festival season and a perfect way to end what has been a brilliant campaign for 'Postcards From A Young Man'. On the last dates (and these coming up) we've been playing lots of songs from our past too which has been really enjoyable." Support on all shows comes from The Joy Formidable.

The band also release the title track of their new album 'Postcards From A Young Man' as a single on 28th February 2011. The track will be released on 2 x CD and 7" all featuring brand new tracks including a long lost track 'Midnight Sun' on CD 2. In addition there will be a digital EP available via i-Tunes featuring live tracks from their last album 'Journal For Plague Lovers'.
