Sir Tom Jones admits The Voice coaches were fed lines

Sir Tom Jones has revealed that he and his Voice UK colleagues were given pre-prepared lines during the show's first series.

The veteran was one of four coaches on the reality programme and it was new territory for the crooner.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Jones admitted that the quartet were given lines that they could use if they needed help.

He said that he used some of them - but he felt awkward doing so. Jones said: "I feel like I know what I am doing this time and it feels more natural."

He continued: "Last year we were given suggested lines just in case we got stuck, which I tried to work in on a few occasions. But even when I tried to say them naturally I knew that they weren't me and felt self-conscious. I have learnt now that I don't have to do that, I can just say what I feel."

The second series of The Voice is due to start on March 30.

McFly's Tom Fletcher: "My wedding speech took a week to write"

McFly star Tom Fletcher has opened up on his adorable wedding speech.

The star melted the hearts of women across the country after posting a video late last year of himself singing his wedding speech.

The McFly man wed girlfriend Giovanna Falcone in a ceremony in May last year.

Speaking to Now magazine, Fletcher said the idea came about after failing to read out aloud his speech without succumbing to embarrassment. He said:

"I couldn't even read it out to myself without cringing. We were on tour and I had a piano in my hotel room, to help me write, so I thought, 'I wonder if I could sing it?'."

The singer added that he arranged the speech, which is sung over a medley of McFly songs, with bandmate Danny Jones. Fletcher added: "But I didn't tell him the lyrics or exactly what I was doing. It took me a week to write."

McFly's Tom Fletcher denies stealing bandmate's wedding thunder

McFly star Tom Fletcher has dimissed suggestion that he was stealing his bandmate Harry Judd's thunder by posting his wedding speech online.

Fletcher wowed fans recently by uploading a video of himself singing his wedding speech back from when he tied the knot in May last year.

However, he posted the video the day before photos from bandmate Harry Judd's wedding, which took place in December, were due to be published in Hello!.

Fletcher took to Twitter today (January 8) to confirm that no malice was intended by the timing of his video, tweeting:

"I read that article about me posting it to try and "steal Harry's thunder". I had no idea his wedding article was coming out this week! If I'd have known I would definitely not have put it up. I only got our wedding video the week before Harry's wedding so I couldn't post it...before. The Judd's wedding was before Christmas so thought it was safe to do it now. Ooops! Sorry. No harm intended!"

He concluded amiably: "Sooooo, check out Harry's wedding pics in Hello this week. 'twas a gorgeous wedding for two gorgeous people."

McFly's Tom Fletcher sings wedding speech

McFly star Tom Fletcher has revealed a video of himself singing his wedding speech.

The frontman got married in May to Giovanna Falcone in a ceremony that saw his bandmates and the likes of Fearne Cotton attend.

He has now given fans a chance to see his unique wedding speech - a 14 minute song sung over a backing track of some of McFly's top hits.

Fletcher opened by admitting that he isn't keen on public speaking - so he decided to do his speech in song instead. He said:

"I absolutely hate public speaking. Me and public speaking are just not compatible, we don't go together very well at all. Mainly because I have no idea how to write a good speech but I do know how to write a good song, so I hope this isn't cheating my way out of it too much."

He sang over the likes of 'Sorry's Not Good Enough' and even managed to recruit a choir of children for some extra special backing.

The Wanted: "We inspired a whole generation of new boybands"

The Wanted believe they have started a "whole generation" of new boybands who sing instead of dance.

The pop music scene often places a large emphasis on choreography but it seems like The Wanted would rather stretch their vocal cords instead of their legs.

Speaking to OK! magazine, band member Tom Parker revealed that he believes their style of boyband is catching on around the world. He said:

"What I'm proud of is that I feel like we started this whole generation of new boybands not dancing. We were the first one there. We're the coolest boyband around."

Bandmate Jay McGuiness added: "I think everyone saw us and though, that's the blueprint, we'll tidy it up a bit and then we'll make a lot of money."

The Wanted's Tom Parker fractured nose on video shoot

The Wanted star Tom Parker fractured his nose on a recent video shoot, it has been revealed.

The band released a gritty promo clip for their latest single 'I Found You' last month and it seems Parker was in the wars during its filming.

Speaking to the Metro, bandmate Jay McGuiness said that the singer took a bop to the nose - and fractured it as a result. He said:

"Tom took a bit of hefty whack to the nose. We thought he was making it up but it turned out he got a hairline fracture. They couldn’t do anything about it."

McGuiness added that he thinks their American audience are more receptive to the band's ethos, saying: "Half the people think we should dance more and wear better clothes and be a proper pop band and half the country think we should start playing our instruments. In the US they don't really care. They seem to accept us straight away."

Mcfly’s Dougie Poynter discusses time in rehab

McFly’s Dougie Poynter has opened up about his time in rehab.

The 24-year-old bassist, who spent a month in The Priory last year following a battle with drink and drugs, told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine that attending the treatment centre was one of the best things he’s ever done:

“It was 28 days of complete intensity, but the most important 28 days of my life. I was in this incredible group, and everyone has stayed sober and we all still stay in touch. I talked a lot, I cried a lot and I thought a lot.

“I had all these stupid things I was worrying about, like the fact I’d lost my libido, and I was able to say them out loud and people would talk about it and I’d feel better. I was very lucky because a lot of people don’t get sober straight away. I still go to therapy meetings and I’m teetotal. I don’t want to go back to being the person I was.”

The I’m A Celebrity…winner, who goes further into detail about his troubles in the group’s new book, 'Unsaid Things,' also revealed how his bandmates tried to help him as much as they could at the time:

"They just wanted to help. All of them did. Tom moved me in with him and Giovanna, Harry and Danny checked up on me all of the time. There was never a sense that I had messed up for them, they just wanted to sort me out."

The Wanted have thanked the team behind Justin Bieber for saving them after they parted company with former manager Jayne Collins.

The ‘Chasing The Sun’ stars told the Daily Star that they were pulled back from the brink after signing with the Canadian teen idol’s Svengali Scooter Braun earlier this year.

“Scooter’s done an amazing job and pulled us out of the sh***er.

“There was some painful stuff to go through, which I can’t say too much about. Scooter had been sort of guiding us anyway, but we were heartbroken about what happened.

“I don’t want to badmouth anyone, as it’s not healthy to sound bitter. You have to realise life isn’t all roses and butterflies.”

The group also discussed their recent appearance at the 10th birthday party of Victoria and David Beckham’s son, Romeo, with Tom claiming: “It was weirdly normal – kids running around everywhere, go-karting.”

Nathan then added: “I had bruises all down my back from when David shoved me out of the way when we were competing on the karts.”
