Kent, publisher of South Florida Gay News, posted a message yesterday (April 17) slamming the 'Trespassing' superstar for gracing the front page for nothing more than splitting with his boyfriend and explaining that Lambert "has not made a career promoting gay rights. He has made a career promoting himself, his music, and his albums."

Jason Parsley, the associate publisher, has now hit back at the claims made by Kent and confirmed that he strongly disagrees. Of Lambert's activism for the LGBT community, he writes: "In May he’ll be traveling to Vienna to perform at Europe’s largest HIV fundraiser, Life Ball. In 2011 for his 29th birthday Lambert set a fundraising record for charity: Water, which brings safe drinking water into developing nations. He raised more than $320,000. His starting goal was a measly $29,000, proving the power of his celebrity status. These few items only scratch the surface."

Parsley continues: "I disagree with the piece – and him – wholeheartedly. Kent attempted to make the case that Lambert hasn’t done anything for the gay community in his short few years on the public stage. But what my publisher obviously failed to realize is just how much Adam Lambert has been doing for the gay community."

"He’s the first mainstream pop artist to come out at the beginning of their career. Look how long it took celebrities like Elton John or George Michael to come out?"

"Adam Lambert isn’t just making a difference in America, he’s making a difference all over the world. He recently performed in Russia, a country that may ban foreign gay couples from adopting children; that is trying to ban ‘homosexual propaganda;’ and last year Moscow banned Pride marches in the city for the next 100 years. Yet Lambert performed there giving young LGBT people in Russia hope and a role model to look up to."

The US group released comeback record 'Push And Shove' in September last year and they were due to play some shows this summer.

However, they confirmed in a statement that they have decided to pull all concerts and concentrate on writing and recording new material. They said:

"While we were traveling the world last year promoting 'Push And Shove', Gwen mentioned she was inspired to write new music.  In December, around the time of our hometown shows, we discussed the idea of starting 2013 by getting back into the studio together.  We did so in January and the new music started flowing with unexpected ease.  After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting."

They continued: "We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don't want to stop.  So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired.  Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible - both recorded and live on tour.  As always, thank you all for your kind words, incredible support and patience.  We promise to keep you updated with photos and videos from the studio, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram to get the latest updates.  We will see you soon!"

NEW YORK, NY (February 3, 2013): 11:00 PM EST. – Parkwood Entertainment today announced that The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour starring Beyoncé kicks off in Europe on April 15, 2013.  With stops in twenty European cities, including Dublin, Ireland; Berlin, Germany; Paris, France and a four-night stint at The O2 in London, UK, this is Beyoncé’s first multi-city tour in over three years.   

Live Nation also announced today that Beyoncé’s North American Tour begins on June 28 in Los Angeles, California. The Las Vegas quartet, who are currently working on the follow-up to 2008’s 'Day and Age,' told Q Magazine that fans should expect a sound more in keeping with debut 'Hot Fuss' when it’s released in the Autumn.

Frontman Brandon Flowers said: “It’s still eclectic, I’ve not thrown the keyboards away. It’s definitely heavier.”

The 30-year-old, who was one of three members to pursue a solo career during their hiatus, also admitted that the band’s decision to take their time with the album, provisionally titled 'Battle Born,' could be a risky strategy:

“It is a bit strange to spend time learning to hone your skills and figure out what makes you unique as a band, then take half a decade off. We just hope that lightning strikes again.”

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci, who described the new LP, as a ‘new wave Traveling Wilburys,’ went onto claim how he’s itching to get back on the road again:

“These songs are so good, I’m just desperate to play some shows. I’d play the opening of a 7-Eleven at this point.”

The band also revealed the working titles of several songs, including ‘Miss Atomic Bomb,’ ‘The Rising Tide,’ ‘Flesh and Bone,’ ‘Runaways’ and ‘Carry Me Home.’
