Louis Tomlinson responds to The Wanted’s latest jibes

The rivalry between One Direction and The Wanted was once again reignited last night after Louis Tomlinson responded to comments made by Jay McGuiness in a recent interview.

When asked about the ‘Kiss You’ stars by an Australian radio station, McGuiness stated that he initially had no problem with the group:

“It generated just because we were two UK boybands… People were like, is there a rivalry? Well yeah, in the charts there is, but we don’t have anything against them. But then over time it generated a bit of bad feeling.

“You hear comments they’ve said in interviews to wind you up, and vice versa and then…it’s kind of fake, but then a few of the lads have wound me up personally.”

The 22-year-old then admitted that although he likes Harry Styles, he’s often irritated by the behaviour of several of his bandmates:

“I think he’s retained manners and a bit of dignity, whereas some of them, when they mouth off it really gets under my skin. It riles up loads of 14 year old girls and there’s no need for that, just talk to us.”

Tomlinson then appeared to acknowledge the interview on Twitter last night by tagging McGuiness’s profile with the message:

"So frustrating when people talk the talk in the press but when it comes down to it not a word is said face to face!"

'Fashion Police' co-host Kelly Osbourne took to her official Twitter page earlier today (May 17) to reveal that she was left red-faced after a construction worker saw her 'half naked'.

Writing on her social media account this afternoon, the TV personality admitted that she was mortified after the incident: "#DyingRightNow getting work done on my house & one of the builders just walked into my bedroom while i was half naked! my face is so red!"

Last month, the beauty gave an exclusive interview to Self magazine about her weight loss and new-found love for her body and confessed that being healthy is now her priority:

"I figured] out there is no such thing as perfection. If I had known that earlier, I wouldn't have been such a f**k up. The only thing I can be is me. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes.
Zane Lowe: 'We have too much access to our music idols with the Internet, there's no mystique'

Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe has given his opinion on the rise of social media in the music industry and revealed that sites such as Twitter and Facebook give people too much access to the stars they look up to.

During an interview with Digital Spy, he explained that the 'mystique' is taken out of bands these days because now we can check their online pages to see what mundane things they fill their days with:

"This isn't to sound like I long for a time before these things existed - I for one embrace the medium and think in a lot of ways it's the only way artists can actually control how they can be heard - but the pressure to constantly update takes away some of the mystery and mystique of art."

"I loved it when I didn't know what Chris Cornell had for breakfast, or God forbid I ever found out what pair of pants Chuck D decided to put on that day."

Referring to his own experiences of music pre-social networking, Lowe added that he "didn't even know what Thom Yorke sounded like to speak to for the first two Radiohead albums": "I loved the idea of them being superheroes to me. Would Superman be Superman if he was mystified by Twitter every day?"

One Direction's 'big announcement' generates more tweets than Margaret Thatcher's death

Social networking site Twitter has confirmed that boyband One Direction's 'big announcement' yesterday saw just over one million tweets posted in one hour on the topic.

The news that the heartthrobs revealed was of a stadium tour that will take them around the world next year, called the 'Where We Are' tour, and so far dates have been confirmed in South America, the UK and Ireland.

Following the announcement, the hashtag '#onebigdisappointment' made it into the Top 10 worldwide trending topics list as fans shared their disappointment at the lack of more international concerts.

In just 80 minutes after the news was unveiled, over 1 million tweets had been uploaded about the stadium tour and to put that information into context, it took 4 hours for the same amount of tweets to be shared about the death of Margaret Thatcher last month.

The lads have been expressing their excitement over the 'Where We Are' jaunt on their individual social networking pages and member Niall Horan updated his Twitter account last night (May 16), writing: "We are a family! We stick together forever! Love you all! Best fans on the planet."

Alexandra Burke 'postpones' Royal Albert Hall residency

Songstress Alexandra Burke has revealed that her forthcoming 6-show residency at the Royal Albert Hall in London (June 2013) has been postponed due to 'overwhelming demand'.

Tweeting about the disappointing news this afternoon (May 16), the 'Broken Heels' hitmaker apologised for letting people down: "Hi, I'm afraid we're postponing the Royal Albert Hall shows until later in the year. Sorry for any disappointment. I'll tweet the statement."

Burke was supposed to play a run of dates at the venue's Elgar Room, where she was set to perform the soundtrack to 1972 Billie Holiday biopic 'Lady Sings The Blues', in which Diana Ross played the singer, but an official statement confirms that the dates are no longer going ahead:

"Due to an overwhelming demand for tickets, Alexandra Burke has decided to postpone her June 'Lady Sings The Blues' concerts and re-schedule the performances for later this year, at additional venues. Tickets for the six dates at the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room sold out within hours, with many fans disappointed, so these new dates, to be announced soon, will allow more fans to see and enjoy the shows."

The Vaccines' Justin Young says One Direction stars are "natural writers"

The Vaccines' Justin Young has praised Harry Styles and Niall Horan after partaking in songwriting sessions with the One Direction duo.

As previously reported, the indie man said that he penned some "awesome" songs whilst writing with the 'Kiss You' stars.

Opening up further about the experience to MTV, Young said that he teamed up with Styles and Horan in particular, who he says are both good songwriters. He said:

"They are both natural writers. I love writing songs and love pop music, so the process was exciting. I don't think they are going for a heavier, indie sound. Maybe it's damaged my credibility, but it wasn't The Vaccines who wrote for them, it was me, so I doubt it's damaged the band's."

It is unclear, however, what project the songwriting sessions were for.
