The popular band have announced that their next single will be called 'Daylight' and that they will run a special video contest to help make the accompanying video.

The Daylight Project asks fans to film specific scenes, such as talking about what you love or hate.

The contest is open until October 1 and is open to US residents only. Speaking about the idea, the band said:

"We need YOUR help for our next music video. We're asking YOU to record and share 'YOUR story', and that recording may be handpicked to appear in the video for our third single, 'Daylight', directed by Jonas Akerlund."

The 'Better Than I Know Myself' star announced recently that he wanted his fans to send him DIY videos for the track 'Trespassing', which will be his next single.

Lambert's loyal supporters submitted videos in their droves and the singer has now unveiled the winners via social networking site, Twitter.

The overall winners were Aiden and Liam McEwan, who used LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem' video as inspiration.

Lambert picked winners in numerous categories, including Best Performance and Energy and Best Choreography, which was won by Becca Payne, Bella Lewis and Sophie Mallender.

Before announcing the results, the vocal powerhouse asked his fans to help track down the eventual winners, tweeting:

"Gonna need help tracking down contact info for the winners because all I have are vid links. I'm sure an organized Glambert can help?"

The vocal powerhouse had previously teased fans with news of the latest track to be taken from his album 'Trespassing', but no official confirmation came for weeks.

However, Lambert has now posted on Twitter that his next single will be the title track from 'Trespassing', which was written with Pharrell Williams.

The 'Cuckoo' star added that he will reveal the release date and artwork in the future. He said:

"The next single is.......My next radio single is TRESPASSING written by @Pharrell and myself. "make their faces crack, there's no turning back. More details to come... Cover art and radio add date... All in good time."

Lambert later tweeted that he is opening up a competition for fans to send him videos of themselves miming along to the song. He said:

"A contest for all you fans! Send me videos of u performing 'Trespassing'. Lip-synch, sing, dance and dress up! Prizes to be announced."
