Originally founded by David Geffen and Elliot Roberts, Asylum Records has been part of the Warner Music Group family since 1971. In its first incarnation, the label famously launched the careers of trailblazers such as Jackson Browne, the Eagles, Joni Mitchell, and Linda Ronstadt. Reborn in 2004, its next generation included a notable array of hip-hop artists, including Waka Flocka Flame, Cam’ron, Gucci Mane, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, and Bun B.
In 2017, Asylum Worldwide was introduced, marking the dawn of the label’s next evolution. Curating a soundtrack for youth culture around the world, Asylum represents an independent mindset with artist development focus, while leveraging the major resources and global muscle of Warner Music Group. Focusing on streaming and blockbuster single releases, Asylum seeks to spotlight new acts, while upholding a tradition of artistic freedom based around a varied and dynamic roster. A diverse lineup of new and exciting artists, including Ugly God, Sada Baby, 600 Breezy, DMB Gotti and more call the label home.
