Jared Leto on 'Dallas Buyers Club' role: 'I am so proud to be a part of it'

30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto has revealed that he's so amazed by the support and praise he has been given surrounding his latest film role in 'Dallas Buyers Club'.

In the movie, the rocker and actor plays a transgender and HIV positive character named Rayon and has already won a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild prize for the portrayal

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 recently, the star explained that the success and acclaim he's receiving is just overwhelming: "It took six years for this to come to me. I wasn't looking to make a film but I ended up reading the script and fell in love (with it)."

"I don't want to sound like a jerk right now but someone told me yesterday that I've won over 30 awards for it already. I didn't even know there were 30 awards to win. The big ones were the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards recently."

Referring specifically to his Oscar nomination, which he earned in the Best Supporting Actor category, Leto added: "I feel like this is insane and amazing - I feel like the luckiest person in the world. It's a really special story and I feel proud to be a part of it."
