30 Seconds To Mars to host 3-day outdoor retreat in California
Rock band 30 Seconds To Mars are hosting a three-day outdoor 'musical retreat' later this summer.
The 'Closer To The Edge' hitmakers will launch Camp Mars on August 22 in Malibu and the event is set to feature activities such as hiking, climbing, yoga and cooking classes with members of the band, who will also perform two concerts during the weekend.
Speaking to the Rolling Stone about the retreat, frontman Jared Leto explained that he's really looking forward to it: "We have always looked to do things for our audience that are fun and unique. What better way to celebrate the summer than in beautiful Southern California with the Mars family in full."
Earlier this year, Leto told Billboard that while he loves his career as a musician he is also dedicated to being an actor, although there's not much money to be made in the film industry: "[I have more skill as a musician because] I've been onstage more hours than I've been in front of a camera. I've never made money from films. It's a challenge to make money from music these days - that's one of the reasons I've been really entrepreneurial."
