5SOS's Ashton Irwin on music success: 'I've dreamt about this since I was a kid'

5 Seconds Of Summer's Ashton Irwin has revealed that he can't believe how lucky he has been to travel the world playing music and is eternally grateful to the unwavering support of the group's fan base.

Writing on his official Twitter page earlier this morning (May 16), the heartthrob explained that he's constantly overwhelmed at where he and the other lads are in their collective career:

"How me and the boys got to this point amazes me, thanks for giving us the chance to play music around the world."

He added: "I dreamt about it ever since I was a kid, and will be forever grateful for everything."

The drummer also recently opened up about being bullied and told B105 in Australia that while having a 'look at me now' attitude is very tempting, he prefers to rise above such negativity and thinks it's much healthier to use it as fuel for songwriting:

"I don't know, I think if we had that attitude still it wouldn't work so well for our band. If you have that attitude in the music industry it'll fail you. You have to let go of things... you've written songs about them, it gives you things to write songs about, but you shouldn't be out there with a vendetta against people who said you couldn't."
