5 Seconds of Summer's Ashton Irwin: "I want people to still be wearing our shirts in 30 years time"

5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin hopes that his band will still be relevant in decades to come.

The young Australians burst onto the mainstream scene over the last year, but the industry can often be fickle.

However, Irwin took to Twitter to say that he hopes people will still don 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirts in years to come.

He wrote: "I want people to be still wearing our shirts in 30 years time."

The band meanwhile are currently in the UK as they prepare to join One Direction's European Where We Are tour as support.

The first dates will take place this weekend in Dublin, Ireland before the bands head to the UK.

The Australians are also scheduled to warm-up for the 'Midnight Memories' stars in North America later this year.
