Australian superstars 5 Seconds Of Summer have revealed that it would be nice to receive more letters from fans because they're starting to get a lot of impersonal notes that just have people's Twitter names scrawled on them.

Heartthrob Ashton Irwin explained to Energy Startalk that the band don't get a lot of genuine fan mail anymore now that social media has taken over and they tend to just get given people's Twitter handles, which is a shame because they all enjoyed reading actual letters that thought and time had been put into:

"I was saying this the other day that we used to get a lot more letters and now people just hand us bits of paper with Twitters on them and I really miss the day of the love letter. It was a better time... more emotion."

They were then asked about their craziest fan experience to date and Irwin admitted that it involved baked goods that fans made for them at one of their concerts: "They sent us a cake in the shape of the naked lady... we started with the left boob and moved on from there. And that's the end of that story!!!"
