5 Seconds Of Summer: 'Touring with One Direction taught us so much'

Australian heartthrobs 5 Seconds Of Summer have spoken out about touring with One Direction and admitted that it was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the industry.

The band's guitarist, Michael Clifford, explained to ITV's 'This Morning' that touring in support of One Direction taught them so many things that they wouldn't have picked up had it not been for such a hands-on experience:

"All of last year for us when we were touring with them was learning our stagecraft and how to be a good live band."

Drummer Ashton Irwin then revealed that 1D's Niall Horan made sure to stand side-stage each night to watch and support them, and added that it's so nice to think they were always there for them:

"They're really supportive and it is nice that they’re supporting something that is rock. Some of the audience didn’t like it but, thankfully, some of them do. You can spot our fans from a mile away. They are just like a little army."
