American Apparel have reached out to 5 Seconds of Summer after being referenced by the band in one of their songs.

The hit single 'She Looks So Perfect' features the line 'You look so perfect standing there in my American Apparel underwear' and the band recently claimed that they heard it has positively effected their underwear sales.

Luke Hemmings said: "Apparently there's a 10% increase in men's briefs [since 'She Looks So Perfect'], that's crazy. They [American Apparel] haven't even said anything to us. I just want an email! I just wanna know they like the song, that's all I wanna know."

A spokesperson for fashion retailer American Apparel has now told Pressparty in response to Hemmings' quote that they are grateful for the lyric mention, suggesting that a gift is in the offing.

They said: "We wanted to thank them for their song…we just don't know where to send our thank you present!"
