5 Seconds of Summer have revealed that some fans have nearly been hit by cars when chasing the band.

The group have become worldwide stars over the past year and they have legions of fans across the globe.

However, it seems some of their followers can get particularly passionate when given the chance to meet their idols.

When asked by MTV if 5 Seconds of Summer have had any negative fan experiences, Calum Hood said:

"Only when people chasing us almost get hit by cars and stuff like that. It can get quite intense and we never want anyone to get hurt."

The group meanwhile were asked about what gifts their fans send them, with drummer Ashton Irwin replying:

"We always get a random few pizzas delivered to the house every now and then too."
